I've emailed the dev and asked the people on there but no response back. So what it is, is that I'm trying to upload my defult pic on there and it says "cannot crop. Do you have enough space on your sd card." I have a 8gb sd card so idk why. I tired taking a pic with that app but it still doesn't work. It makes a folder in the root of my sd card but still come out with same results. Thanks for your help.

More than likely it's being used... I'll try to explain!
The RAM memory is basically where your OS is stored and it uses the RAM to actually run the OS and other various processes of the device. The ROM memory is used to store system applications...apps that cannot be moved to the SD card. (or they wouldn't function correctly) Even the apps that you download and that are on the SD card will still use some of the internal memory. ROM is also being used for and by contacts, text messages, cache and so on. So the discrepancy that your seeing is literally the memory that is locked away for use by the system. Your memory isn't really missing, you just can't see it and it's being used.

tnx for your reply, but my problem is , if that memory is used, why phone says i have 1.08GB free, and if it is not used, why ZUNE tells i have 285MB free ?
and if it takes by some thing like temporary internet files , how can i clear them.
and remember phone says total storage=7.20GB , i think he gets as much as he need from 8GB
which one is true ? 1.08GB or 285MB ?

I'm not sure...I'd say that your device would be the most accurate of the two. I have the 32gb SD card in mine and have 29gb available storage.
Do you have alot of music, video, pics and SMS on your device? You might want to think about upgrading your SD card to a 16gb or 32gb. I just upgraded mine from the 16gb to a 32gb and its running faster than it ever has. Boots super quick and loads apps and really fast too.
Other than going into IE setting and deleting the history, cookies and temp files and deleting some text messages, I don't think there's a cache cleaner that you can get for it as of yet on a non-unlocked device!
Download this app, System View and it will tell you, available storage status and a lot more. I think it will give you a better idea of what the used/free memory availability is and you can compare it with what you already have.

i have around 100~200MB picture and music , and all other is programm.
changing memory or factory reset or ... takes so many time for me to install all again !

I understand the enough money invested, Lol... If your device and System View both say you have 1GB of memory left, then I'd say that's more accurate than Zune but your device still needs that reserved space to operate everything. As far as freeing up space, even though you don't have very much memory used with pics, video and music, you could up load them to SkyDrive and free it up from the actual memory on the device but 200MG isn't much. Unfortunately I don't think that there is much of a option other than deleting some of your apps or upgrading the SD card at this point to gain any substantial amount of memory.
Change the amount of reserved space to 1% in Zune. The phone doesn't subtract the reserved spec, only Zune does.

Internal storage space won't clear. Always says full.

As the topic says no matter what i do (i have moved all my photos and videos and music to the sd card) my internal storage always says full. (using 4.1gb of the 4.9 available.)
Even using windows to explore the internal memory i can only find a couple of 100mb of data etc on the internal storage, but windows also shows it as full............ could there be hidden files somewhere?
Under storage in the settings it says i am using 2.19gb for pictures and video, but i have transferred them all to the sd!!!!!
Driving me mad, any suggestions. I am using the stock kit kat update that came out a recently
thanks

4GB Thumbnail Data from Camera?

Hey Guys,
While ding my backup to prepare for root and the Lollipop upgrade I noticed that my DCIM folder has more than 4GB of Thumbnail Data
I've got about 5500 Pictures so far on my phone but that's a big amount of data. Is your thumbnail folder just as big or do i have some sort of abnormality going on?
Attached is a Screenshot

Yep
8G.B
Yes, also here about 4 + 4 GB.
But actually, the thumbnails don't really occupy 8 GB on the internal memory, because it simply wouldn't fit (along with apps and other data) and when I delete them, just less than 1 MB of internal memory is actually freed.
Maybe one of our experts can give us an explanation for this?
Hi,
any expert's feedback on this? I also have cleanup tools stating that thumbnails occupy huge space... thanks

Question Miui13 dual app cannot access storage

Used to have dual app on miui for years. About half year ago, all of a sudden that the dual app (WhatsApp, wechat, etc) cannot access storage anymore. So I cannot see the photos in the chat - I still saw the thumbnail but could not open it to see the details. Moreover, I will get a "SD card has been removed" error message when I tried to send photos in the chat.
I remembered that I used it for so long, so it must be working in miui 12. Is there any big change to the os for some reason? How can I get around this issue? Thanks.
