Layers manager is working on all marshmallow devices on stock rom itself.
In order to use this app you have to be rooted and busybox should be installed.
Additionally on some devices system partition has no free space for layers to be installed. If it is a case you have to uninstall some system apps for freeing up some memory.
I would suggest to take nandroid backup before uninstalling any system app.
Yes it's working i tryed
Not working for me..am not rooted btw
Didn't work for me, rooted and now working for me.

At first take nandroid backup then try cleaning some system apps which you could dowload afterwards on play store,on some models reportedly system partition has no space left for layers,i think it would work out this way,do reply if your problem is sorted out or not.

So I have my rooted Xoom and Titanium Backup PRO. The program runs ok, but only one of my many, many applications shows up in the backup list (ConnectBot). I have busybox installed. I have also tried letting Titanium install its own busybox. Lots of 'refreshing' and 'rebooting' have not fixed it.
I have the program on my Droid phone and it works there, showing and backing up all of my apps+data.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: This is a problem with all of the current versions of busybox. The one from the market and the one that Titanium Backup installs do not work on the Xoom. I compiled up a busybox from the source last night and it works with TB. The problem seems to be with the 'find' and probably the 'cp' commands. I talked with Stephen and he is going to release a new busybox installer to the market that should fix the problem.
I'm pretty sure that happens to everyone. I think he needs to update his app for Honeycomb.
If you manually add a back up to your memory card it will show up though.
It doesn't support honeycomb yet. I have yet to get a backup or restore to work at all. I have been able to extract the backup files, and move them one by one to make apps work.
I figured it was just me. Thanks for the info. Will stand by for update.
It looks like someone have work it out:
SORRY got it working now.
Just had to reinstall busybox 3 times lol and refresh then all the app came wooot! Im happy now :-D

Not exactly repeatable . I've installed busybox several times and refreshed my fingers to the bone. Must be some other mojo he did.

Ive been flashing the various kernels for a while now and my biggest problem is not having a working backup app.
People have said that Titanium is working for them - it isnt for me. I have the latest busybox pushed and everything as it should be, but there are only 5 elements in my backup/ restore section.
Anyone have any tips on getting it to work as intended? Or perhaps an alternative app?

Same thing for me. Only 5 showing.
I read on another thread that until a couple of days ago, the Titanium developers were unaware of any issues with the Xoom. Now that they know it is not working, they are looking into a fix. I can't remember which thread or forum that I read the information however.
It was not until I compared how Ti Backup works on my Nook Color that I realized where the problem is. But yes, there are no applications listed to be backed up And I've received at least a couple of updates since I bought the Pro version but nothing changed. I'm glad to hear that the developers are working on the issue. I can't imagine it being a big problem for the pros!
Titanium always is getting updates. Most of the time when I see updates available its because of ti. This shouldn't be a problem for long. Have you guys tried Mybackup Root its free and does the same thing as TB but takes lomger

I tried that when I found it for my Nook Color but it's not readily available for the Xoom. I even tried making an .apk using MyBackup on the NC but it is not listed in the app list for backup. Sneaky bastards!!

Try the BusyBox installer from the market. The one produced by Stericson. We worked on compiling up BusyBox and testing it on Xoom. Once you have that installed, TB should be able to find apps, make backups, and do restores.
thanks, it works fine... somehow fixes things despite me having installed the same version manually a number of times...
You Guys are Awesome! Thanks!
working fine... thanks much
Ditto, working great now. Thanks.

I can confirm that this works. BusyBox by Stericson from the market enables Titanium to do its normal tasks just like anywhere else...
Full backups complete.
Hello friends!
I am presently running rooted Simplicity 2.2.1 on XXJVU with Semaphore 2.5.0bm kernel. After installing this ROM, I installed Titanium Backup Pro and then recovered all my backed up apps, data and settings. Everything was working fine until yesterday when I found that Titanium Backup Pro was gone. So after searching for it and finally unable to trace it, I tried installing it again, both from the apk file that I had in my SD card and from the market, but it failed everytime giving an error message saying "Out of Space: Titanium Backup could not be installed. Free up some space and try again"
This is strange because I have a hell lot of space available and still it is showing this error. I tried installing other softwares and there wasnt any problem with that. This message is flashed only when I try installing TB.
Can you guys please help me to come out of this situation because TB is a must have software for me?
Thank you.
Try looking at last few comment on below thread, they might help you.

Thanks. Had same problem and deleting file /data/app/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup-1.odex:good:
For those of you who have used Lucky Patcher for Titanium Backup, removing the .odex will not solve the issue.
The solution is to remove the patch with Lucky Patcher:
In Lucky Patcher click on Titanium Backup > Open Menu of Patches > Remove ODEX with Changes!
If you have uninstalled the app before removing the patch, you will not be able to update it.
In this case just install the same version as before (this will work), then remove the patch and upgrade the app.
hope this helps

You are right, I removed the odex file but it still doesnt allow me to install the updated version as I had patched the previous version with lucky patcher. I followed all that you said but I am still not able to install an updated version. After uninstalling the older version, when I try to install the new version, it gives "Application not installed"... Now what?

which rom you are using
so I uninstalled it before trying the luckypatcher method. and I deleted some titanium folder that was empty. I rebooted and still not luck. I just kept trying to install and eventually it did it, after about 10 times.
I've been in this scenario heaps, different apps. almost like custom roms don't uninstall apps properly. I'm on omega note 2.

Can anyone provide a guide on how to install/configure mounts2sd for the Nexus One on Jelly Bean (CM 10.1) so that I can move my apps from my internal memory to my sd-ext?
I installed the app from Google Play and had nothing but trouble with it. It initially says that busybox isn't configured properly and that the init.d script is either missing or not installed. I proceed to configure busybox and install the init.d script, but after rebooting my "downloaded" apps disappear. These downloaded apps include the Google Play Store and mounts2sd! So even if I wanted to reverse the process, I can't because the app is gone.
I would appreciate if anyone could explain how to do this properly since there is very limited space on the Nexus One, especially after installing Jelly Bean on a custom HBOOT.
Thanks!
I think you have to put mounts2sd.zip on your SD card and flash it from recovery. That's how I use it and it's really straight forward if you have flashed anything before. I wasn't aware it could be installed as an app from playstore. Are you sure it's notjust a GUI for the script?

Nope, you should be fine with that. However, I recommend you flash it on right after you flash the ROM and before you install any apps.

I'm having tons of trouble with the app. I can't get it to work..I must be missing something. I've tried flashing it right after installing the rom (CM 10.1). I've tried installing it from the app store. I've even tried SuperSu just to see if something weird was happening there. I probably reflashed the rom like 5 times last night trying different ways of installing Mounts2SD.
Could it be that I used 4EXT Recovery RC9? I dunno how much of an effect using that recovery may have had since it is in testing..

What kind of problems are you having? Can you be more specific?
How to install on ROM MIUIv5
First: Mounts2SD is such a great tool!! Incredbly super software!
On Nexus One with 32GB sd card:
What best settings would you recommend in mounts2SD?
Is it good to make a swap partition? 1GB?
Which on should be set to sd-card? Apps, data, Cache & Dalvik-Cache and even System Apps?
One point:
If i configure the cache&system cache to be in internal memory, then the internal memory is quite full, so it's impossible to install bigger apps from play store. This only works, if i keep everything to sd-memory so that the internal memory is free. Now I found the setting "System > Storage Treshold". Would this one help with this problem?
But the max. setting is 10% (=20MB on Nexus1). Would that help even with bigger apps (> 20 MB) to install?
I now have all (except system apps) moved to sd, so that i can install bigger apps from play store, but my Nexus One it now very slow and constantly removing Apps from memory etc.
Who can give some hints?
Regards, Marc
I think better use INT2EXT to partition

Yeah I did a reboot. It's weird the first one installed just fine but I was trying to install a different one and the first one won't uninstall even when it says it did and new ones won't install either. Did a reboot and everything.
I fixed it....installed an older version of layers manger.

Probably you have a kernel with sepolicy set to enforced. Layer mgr does not work, the app needs update.
Yeah that's possible. Well luckily I found an older version and installed it and it works perfectly now. Thanks for all the help tho guys!

You can install layers manually. With a root explorer.
Extracted layers are in sdcard/Overlays. Chosen layers are in system/vendor/overlay. And after reboot copied to vendor/overlay.
It is useful to make a back up of the directory system/vendor/overlay. After updating/changing rom the installed layers may be wiped.
Hi.
Does Layers Manager require BusyBox to be installed in /system? I'm asking because I've gotten Android Pay to work on Cataclysm and SuperSu 2.61. As part of the procedure, I installed BusyBox in /su/bin. However, now Layers Manager doesn't install layers. The app behaves as though the installation is successful, but upon rebooting, I don't see any apps layered.
Any help would be appreciated.
