Anyone know how to root stock Android 6.0 I have tried many things but I got nothing just stuck at boot animation.
I believe we'll need a custom kernel for root..
Follow this procedure :

ROOT [MRA58M] MarshMallow
Try this method

So Stock kernel won't get root, isn't it?
No you'll get bootloop

Custom kernel is the only way to get root??
yes guys...flashing latest su zip for mm in the stock kernel will result into boot loop so first flash the latest thug kernel and then flash the latest su zip for mm...thats it.

Please forgive me if this question is one which has been asked a lot; I've searched around but I'm finding a lot of conflicting information.
Exactly how do you safely flash from stock ICS (4.0.0.4; unrooted) to a new rom (for example, I'm looking at going to a CM10 rom)?
Some guides seem to say:
1) Flash a safe kernel using ODIN (I was looking at Hydrocore)
2) Flash back to a pre-rooted gingerbread rom using ODIN (e.g http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025)
3) Flash the rom you're interested in using ODIN
Or perhaps I only need to do steps 1 & 3?
Thanks!
You need to do the 1st and 3rd steps.

Also once you have flashed a safe kernel you can flash the new ROM in recovery.

Im not sure if i need the root to got the custom rom paranoid android jelly bean on my phone
i used this to root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26455511&postcount=2475
you will need to be rooted and on a custom kernal like hydracore etc in order to any custom rom on be it paranoid or any aother the custom kernal will help to make wiping and installing safer tho there is always a risk
i had paranoid on all i did was install hydracore kernal then wiped etc and installed paranoid with cwm i did not reinstall a stock rom there is no need
lol backup efs with ktool, save on computer, then flash a tar file kernel, like speedmod or hydra with ktool.
Reboot recovery, do the wipes, format system/data and dalvik cache. Flash jb zip, gapps (see first post rom thread) and done
If you have lots of apps, and want to keep them, do a app2zip (app from playstore) and flash that after
all own risk, and will lose data, but is cleanest way to go

you have to flash stock firmware using odin . i did the same.
I've been out of the rom game for awhile now. I am rocking a Note 4 that I got day it came out which has NIH baseband on it. I am now downloading N910TUVU2DOK2_N910TTMB2DOK2_TMB firmware. Do I need to download bootloader for this? If so where do I get it from ? I know I need to use latest ODIN for this which I have 3.10.7. Anything else I should or need to do? thanks
Be aware that once you go to 5.1.1 you can't go back to kit Kat 4.4.4, which if you want to use exposed is the best imho. No need to worry about base bands it's all included in the Odin package.
