Unknown showing in Call Log for outgoing calls - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been trying for a solution to this problem for months. Initially I was running CM ROM and noticed when making outbound calls, the calls were showing up as unknown in my call log.
First I though this had something to do with Google voice, so I uninstalled and the problem persisted.
Recently, I changed ROMS to Chroma marshmallow w/ the correct radio and boot loader. Right away, the same problem is occurring.
The attached screenshot is from another thread, but outlines my problem.

Make sure your contacts app and phone (dialer) apps are set as default for contacts and phone in settings. You might need to remove and then add back the Google account so your contacts are updated.

Thanks, but already checked.
I've dust done a fresh install of lineage 17.1 and the problem still present. On outgoing calls when the other side answers the number switch to Unknown
I found this post repo.xposed.info/module/ru.timjosten.unknownnumberfix

Phantom outgoing calls

I have searched the forum and have not encountered anything similar to this. I receive calls from my contacts list telling me I just called them, impossible because the device is in front of me. I received a call earlier from a Sprint contact, answered and no one said anything, so i disconnected. Minute later the same contact calls me and asks if i called him because he missed my call. I never called him. 15 min later a T-mobile cust calls me and asks the same thing. So weird. The sprint contact is on a Hero CDMA with CM7, but the T-mobile cust is stock ROM. Im running CM7, newest radio, collin batt tweak and no fancy apps on the device.
Any advice would be appreciated

This might be a long shot, but if nothing shows up in your call log, I would say someone is prank calling with your phone number.
Try making a backup of your contacts if you don't already have one. Also backup your text msgs if you choose. Then export your contacts to your sd. Then try clearing data in dialer, contacts contacts storage and mms. Then reboot into recovery and wipe cache and dev cache. Then reboot and restore your contacts and resetup your mms configuration and dialer configuration. Hope this helps.

Also a longshot... Try phone goggles in settings.

[Q] Mobile Network Settings

I just flashed CM10.1.3-RC on my Sprint HTC One. I seem to be having problems making and receiving calls. My current settings are: Preferred Network Mode-LTE/CDMA/EvDo, System Select-Automatic, CDMA subscription-NV. I kind of stumbled on this configuration as at first I wasn't able to make a call. I was getting a "sim error" message when I tried to make the call. Can anyone shed any light on this issue? Is there another way I should have this set up properly so I don't have any problems? Also, when I did actually make a call and it did go through it seemed that the call would go silent while the other person was talking and then they would come through again. ???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!! Since this posting I rebooted the phone and again I cannot make or receive any calls. I checked and none of the settings were changed......I've since reinstalled my stock backup until I get an answer to the problem.

[Q] Caller ID always shows Unknown

Since there is no forum for "Moto G" I'm posting my question here...
All calls from unsaved number only show "Unknown" not even the number of the caller, I badly need a fix for this. I'm on stock ROM and kernel, untouched. I did installed Truecaller and thought that might be causing it, but uninstalling it didn't help.
Does anyone else have the same problem? Any fix for it?
Thanks

For future reference the moto g forum does exist : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g
As for your problem, is this also the case when you check the call log? Or only while the call is taking place
No, just incoming calls...they show as "unknown" and no number in the call log as well.
What carrier are you on? I seem to remember reading somewhere (may not have been here) that a Canadian carrier was charging for Caller ID and shows all calls as unknown even if they are saved in your phone.

If you're with Verizon, try this. Login to your account on Verizon's website. Look for the option to change the features of your phone. It should say that Caller ID is ACTIVE for your account. TURN IT OFF. Wait a bit and then try some test calls. Then, go to the website and turn Caller ID BACK ON. Wait a bit and then try some test calls.
This MAY fix your issue. Even if you're not with Verizon, it's possible this could resolve your issue as well if you try this with your current carrier.
Good luck!
:good:
Even I m facing the same problem. The caller I'd used to display with my Samsung phone but now it is not being displayed with moto g 3rd generation. How should I get it fixed

[Q] Google Voice after update

I'm starting a new thread for this as it looks like the original update thread is not the best place to ask. As with other Turbo owners, the recent update broke my phone's ability to use Google Voice for my voicemail. Anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks in advance.
Yep, this happened to me as well. My only solution was to uninstall it, then reinstall, and go through the process of setting it up again. I also deleted it off of the Google Voice web interface as well. When you re-add it they ask you to confirm it, then you go through a few steps which involves dialing a string of numbers to set it all up again. I had no voicemail for a couple days before I realized it was broken. Can confirm it is working again after starting from scratch on the setup.
Just noticed the issue when I read about it here. I uninstalled Google Voice from my device and then reinstalled it and reconfigured. Seems to work now...
Thank you both! Works fine now.
I just had to reforward it with *71.
Not a problem.
I've done the forwarding and set up thru google voice, then opt in for Hangouts to manage it
Enabling Advanced Calling gets rid of any call forwarding you set up. That's why your voicemail stopped working. All you should have to do is set up your call forwarding again and it should work.
As a side note, disabling Advanced Calling also resets call forwarding. VoLTE doesn't work great for me, as I don't have a reliable LTE signal at home. So, I disabled it and discovered my old calling forwarding settings didn't come back.
I have GV "working" again....however, when a number is forwarded to GV (because I choose not to answer), it rings FOREVER before GV picks up. It used to be an immediate pickup prior to the update.
This is still an issue for me, I keep reforwarding my calls and they don't stay forwarded. It seems like it's just a couple hours before it resets.

Are you turning off Advanced Calling? That will reset it.

No.
FWIW I just signed up to Verizon and got a Droid turbo for myself and a note 4 for my fiancé. I couldn't get Google voice to configure at all, on the Note it works flawlessly. So now I have a note. The techs there were obviously baffled. I'd still have the turbo if it wasn't for lack of GV.
Clear data/cache and reinstall/reconfigure. Haven't had any problems since I did that after the update. Didn't have any problems before the update either.
No one likes to use the hangouts for Google voice? Download the hangouts dialer and you're all set. Oh, go to settings and select ring this device for calls.
How I was doing it was I set GV to to make and answer all calls. It'll attempt to ring then give up. I'm going back to Verizon tonight. I like the Note 4 but it is pretty big. The only thing other than the turbo that I like is the Xperia z3v. I don't mind the incrementally weaker hardware paired with a 1080p screen. Waterproof is also a big plus.

Help, I can't receive any calls but no problems to make them.

Hello, everyone.
I need help with an issue I'm facing. My phone is not receiving any calls whatsoever and I don't know why. I can make calls without any problems, the issue is that I can't receive them.
I don't know when this started happening since I don't receive many calls, I don't know if it's a result of rooting the phone, because it's rooted, or what else can it be. I don't remember if the phone received calls before or immediately after being rooted.
I've tried flashing different modems but I haven't been successful. Also, I have gone through the settings and disabled everything that could be causing the calls to be blocked. I have also called T-Mobile and they disconnected and reconnected my phone to the network and I have gone to one store to have the sim card replaced and that didn't help either. I have wiped the cache and the Dalvik cache and nothing. The only option left that I know is to factory reset the phone wich I'm trying to avoid because I have a ton of apps and my home screens are already setup and folders created and I don't want to do all this setup again.
Here is the weird part. Under just this specific scenario I can make my phone receive calls.
Make a call to any phone
Hangup a couple of seconds after the other phone starts ringing.
IMMEDIATELY BEFORE the call is terminated (lost) dial from the other phone (the one that was called in step 1). This should be within one second and no more after the call is lost.
If I follow this procedure then the call goes through and my note 4 receives it, but the call shall be made immediately after I hang up, otherwise it doesn't go through.
Does anybody have an idea of what could be happening?
Thanks!!
try this, go to settings all the down to calls and click on call rejection which says auto rejection turn that to off, ive had the Same problem and thats what help me out
