So sad to hear that, napster was down. Anyway you still have another napster's' but not a P2P app, it's forum!
Ok...Right now i've removed the unnecessary topic and section. Let say it i've resynchronise a forum and section.
If you've any ideas don't hesitate to tell me and please let me know.
Anyway a big thanks for your time read this. xD
I'm aware that I should probably post this is the Dev area, but I'm not a Dev yet lol and don't want to clutter up their precious 'new release' space with what I consider a n00b question.
However, I'm a budding software developer who was very interested in developing apps for android - all of my ideas have been taken up by people and though I contribute a little towards those with suggestions I would like to jump in at the deep end instead.
So i figure, why not start a thread with links to relevant places to learn how to mod the Android OS - whichever version. Not like the dev section where its pretty hardcore, but introductory links:
Everything from removing / adding bits and pieces to an established custom / stock rom, to compiling your own kernel and porting versions could be covered.
It might also offer an incentive to the best devs on the android asteroid to continue knocking out tutorials even after they've moved on to newer versions?
Anyway, just an idea, what do you guys think? Personally at the moment I'm trawling through craploads of official docs trying to get a handle on where to start!
What your looking for is the stickies. They are at the top of each forum subsection. Happy reading. Props on putting it in q&a section though.

Resources for moddingo
Lol... Yay!! My brain was a worthwhile investment, must remember to send a letter of recommendation to my supplier!
Thanks guys I'll keep digging
My poor G1 is in for a ROUGH ride over the next few months I fear... maybe I should save for another just to be safe lol
There are several other threads that cover this. Search for those and they have links and documents relating to this.
You'll have to have knowledge on linux, java, c++, and someother stuff.
I decided to create this thread for ALL concept themes as it seems to be becoming extremely popular to throw out concepts for user input and assistance. I see little issue with this except the forum gets flooded with concepts and WIP and those themes that are completed and/or consistantly updated are harder to find.
So what I purpose here is that all concept and WIP themes are shared within this thread and any input can be directed in private message, email, IM, whatever works best for the person presenting the work.
I hope no one misunderstands me here. I throughly enjoy the current themes and the NEW and up-coming ones as well, I'm just trying to un-crowd the forums.
Sounds like a great idea to me. If it gets too big, maybe make a subforum for it, also
Hey everyone!
I am not so sure if this is the right place to ask but would anyone feel the need to have a site dedicated for Phablets?
:good:If you answered YES what would you personally like to see on the site?
I'm looking to create a community where people can find everything there is to know about Phablets, where developers can post up any Phablet related apps or roms they may have created.
P.S volunteers are welcomed! shoot me a PM
God I hate that word. Phablet, how stupid is that (not the op's fault). But it gets even worse. Do you know what it's called in German? Smartlet as a combination of smartphone and tablet. God, please send brain...
Back to topic: I don't really see the need for a dedicated community for the Note and Note 2 (the only devices in that class). In fact the two devices are simply bigger smartphones. They use the same os as every Android phone out there, the same apps... They don't even run in tablet mode. So since there is no need for a dedicated community for small smartphones I don't see a need for creating one for big phones. But if you think creating a community would be helpful feel free to do so. It adds another source of information which is always a good thing.

Hi guys. I have created a spreadsheet to classify the new lollipop roms, and i want to share it with you.
There are several threads (thanks) for rom indexes, but this is a real-time collaborative one. I know, it can be a mess if people start deleting other people work.
Anyhow i will let the spreadsheet online for a few days. If nobody uses it or people breaks it, i will delete it.
Feel free to update it, add new roms, or post ideas. I don't guarantee any kind of support, the idea is to be collaborative.
Here is the google spreadsheet:

I think xda should create a web tool for debdv's. Every developer could enter the main info of his rom, and we would be able to see it like a table. We could do filters for device, android version, etc. I think it would be nice.
I don't think it will happen, because they want us to flash every single ROM and spend hours deciding what one we like.
Even the titles and original posts no longer seem to be updated. I've searched many threads trying to find a lollipop ROM with a black theme (not dark grey). I found newer versions mentioned towards the last couple pages of a thread, that weren't mentioned in the original post.
I know it's extra work but man it's difficult to sort through the different ROMs when the thread op lacks so much info.
