Same with Nexus 7 2013. I connect to wifi on remote camera and get "connected, no internet" and then the connection will go on, go off constantly. In the UI a brief message appears sporadically asking you if you want to keep connection, if so press OK. However the message does not stay long enough for you to hit OK. I might have hit the OK a few times but apparently not, as the connection does not hold.

Those with Tilt...can you get ICS?

Hey guys,
Im having a hard time figuring out why I cant get ICS working with my AT&T data plan. When in the ICS window, I select usb or bluetooth, then medianet, and hit connect. I immediately get an error "cannot connect for unknown reason". I cant sem to find a solution this problem. Can those of you on AT&T that have ICS working tell me what data plan youre on and what settings you have in connections? Thanks for all your help!!
I am on Medianet Personal Unlimited, the $39.99 package. Works like a charm, did you select USB and medianet as the internet connection method? I think by default it selects At&T GPRS as the connection method.
Yeah, I tried both available connections, medianet and ATT ISP, and on USB and bluetooth, still get the same error....I cant figure this out..How is your medianet connection setup (server, username, proxy)? Thanks for your help.

Well, it shouldn't be a network connection setting on the device because whether you have the ATT or HTC ROM installed it automatically sets everything up just fine.
Where are you getting this error, on the phone or the computer? What OS are you running on your computer? Any other info with that error? Are you running the stock ATT ROM, or HTC ROM? Have you installed any third party apps?
Give us some more info so we can be of better help.
(I'm using MediaNet without a problem via USB and bluetooth, with and without the proxy)
OK, first off, the phone is not connected to to the pc when this happens, since I am trying to get it to work as a wifi AP. Phone is running stock AT&T ROM. I go into ICS window, select Bluetooth PAN and MediaNet, click connect, it says "need to activate bluetooth (which it does)and then immediately get the error, it doesnt even try and connect. I've installed 3rd party apps, but nothing that should interfere with data connection. Am I missing a step?

Do you mean that you're looking to use Internet Sharing over WiFi rather than Bluetooth/USB? If so, how, since that's not a valid "target" for either selection box? I suspect there's a hack involved here that might be your issue.
select Bluetooth PAN and MediaNet

Do you have any partnerships established with a PC? Maybe the error you're getting is related to that. Mine fires off a message about entering discovery mode whenever I launch it when Bluetooth is enabled.
and then immediately get the error

The only time I get the "Cannot Connect for an Unknown reason" error is because I'm going after isp.cingular. I'd recommend re-running Connection Setup from Settings-Connections to see if in your explorations you've somehow damaged the Media Net configuration. To me, it sounds like you've got an issue on that end. For example - the Media Net connection doesn't appear as a "real" connection on my TyTN II when I hit Settings-Connections- Manage Existing. But it is selectable from the pull down under the Advanced tab-Select Networks. If I don't replace "The Internet" there, I'll get the error sometimes.

Yes, there is a sharing over WiFi hack posted, just need to make a registry change and point Bluetooth PAN to your WiFi adapter. But even before I make that change, I stll get the error

I have a BT partnership which works fine.

My MediaNet connection is wap.cingular and otherwise works fine.
When you go to HKLM\Comm\ConnectionSharing\PrivateInterface in your registry, what value do you show there? I keep changing mine to BTPAN1, but when everytime I go back into the registry, it shows up with no value at all (deletes the BTPAN1). Could this be it?

"Unable to save the network" after Froyo

Since I went to Froyo this weekend, I can no longer connect to my home wifi network. It's WPA2 and was working before just fine with a static IP. Now whenever I try to connect to it I get "unable to save the network" and it won't connect. There are no open wifi networks around me to test those and I really don't want to turn everything off on my router and start over again, so has anyone else seen this before?

Can see wireless network, but not connecting

I am running CyanogenMod 7.1, and am experiencing problems with the Wi-Fi connection recently. I have been able to connect to my router fine in the past.
Currently when I turn on Wi-Fi it will show "scanning" and show the network that I would like to connect to. I have entered the correct WPA2 key but it does not connect automatically. If I press on the network and choose "Connect", nothing happens.
I have been able to use other wireless networks, and this one in particular has worked in the past. This seems to be an issue between the phone and router, but I have no idea what could be causing it. Other computers are able to connect to this network fine.
Also, when I deliberately enter the wrong password and attempt to connect, nothing happens. I do not receive an error about having the wrong password.
Any ideas as to what might be happening?
Thanks

[Q] wifi connection problem

hi...before anyone say anything first, I had my wifi problem whenever there is blackout in our area, then I cannot connect to wifi but my sisters can connect they use iphone and laptop. whenever I will connect it shows " obtaining IP address" then it will be disabled and it will say disconnected and I cannot connect to my cousins wifi too but I can connect to my work's wifi...I already factory reset it many times but now I'm having problems with that too...please help me...
Try rebooting the Wi-Fi access point your trying to connect to, I have to do that to my Buffalo Wi-Fi router from time to time and then the phone will connect OK. Its worth a try.

[Q] Wifi Signal Drops When Trying to Connect

Hey guys. So I attend a university that requires you to sign in with a username and password when connecting with the wifi. I have a Nexus 7 (unrooted), and a MacBook Air. My Moto X is rooted but with everything stock. Every time I try to connect to the network at my school, the signal suddenly drops to 1 bar, and it is unable to connect. My Nexus 7 doesn't exhibit this behavior, and my computer connects just fine. Do any of you have an idea of how I could fix this? Could it possibly be that the network is preventing me from connecting because my phone is rooted? Thanks.

Check your Phase2 authentication. Long press on your connection and hit Modify Network. You may have to configure 2 security settings.

What the hell. I changed the Phase2 and then the network signal bumped up but it still wouldn't connect, so I put it back on the default of "none" and now the signal is full and connected. Thanks a lot man. This is awesome.
