So somehow I've managed to delete my OS on my note 5 model N9208. I've downloaded the correct firmware (i think) from sammob but when I try and flash it with Odin, Odin just crashes. I have tried putting the ROM onto a USB to MicroUSB but TWRP isn't picking up the stick.
Help please :crying:
EDIT:
Odin just come back with this

Download Samsung Smart Switch and use it. It will work and there will be no guessing which firmware you need.

Smart switch doesn't recognise my device, my phone doesn't get past the screen where it states it's a Note 5.
Just adb sideloaded Nameless custom rom and I've managed to get it to go to the Samsung splashscreen but won't go any further. Not sure on what to do now.
Managed to get it sorted by sideloading a custom ROM with TWRP and left it on the Samsung splashscreen for a bit. To say I only got my first ever android phone on Tuesday I am proud of myself!

Hi,
my girlfriend just came back from China with a P1000 from her friend. As the whole device was running on chinese language and for some strange reason it was not possible to enter System Setting to change the language, I decided to flash her the latest firmware and just make a fresh start. (i'm a flash veteran on my SGS since 2 years, so I know how to use Odin)
I downloaded the P1000XWJQ8 from Sammobile, fired up Odin and flashed the new ROM with repartition enabled.
The procedure went through without errors:

At the end of it the device didn't auto-boot as expected, it just stayed there with a black screen!!!!!!
Disconnecting and reconnecting it triggers in Odin the REMOVED and the ADDED lines but nothing happens.
I cannot switch on, cannot go into download nor recovery, the device just seems to stay dead :-(
My next idea was trying to pull the battery but apparently the battery is glued to the casing, so before I do more damage, I better start asking here.
Hope someone can help, my girlfriend will kill me if I can't repair this damn thing...
EDIT: after having closed Odin on the PC I tried to connect the device again and it started to play the startup song and Win7 started to install the new drivers from the new firmware. 7 out of 9 found drivers installed correctly, 2 instead failed.
But nothing changed to the vegetarian state of the P1000
EDIT 2: now, after 12 hours wait, the device doesn't do anything anymore when I connect it to the PC, no USB connect, no sign of adding it in Odin. It seems like the charging mechanism doesn't work anymore either. The deivce appears totally dead.
Did you see my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769144? This problem is totally the same as mine.
Is yours rooted? Coz it says here http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=17 that :

I had this problem.. You must have v3.10.6 and flash every file in the corresponding place, after that I still got a fail message but I tried un-checking the auto reboot option and that did the trick (this will make the phone stay in download mode even after you complete the flash, to quit download mode you must press the volume down button and the power button at the same time for about 10 seconds) hope that helps, let me know.

What do you mean with that? witch 4 files?
Hope you can help me.
After a factory swipe and installing vodafone wallet on my S6 it says that it doesn't work on a rooted Phone
You have to put each file in the corresponding place, when you download the stock rom after you've extracted the zip you're supposed to have a file called AP, BL, CSC, AND the other which I cannot remember, those are the files you're supposed to flash, if you try to flash just AP like on the screenshot it's not going to work.

I think you downloaded the wrong firmware for your phone, your phone is G920F and the firmware you are trying to flash is G925F.
@Neostatic17, it looks like you downloaded the wrong file. The file should be a tar.zip, not tar.md5. Once you download the correct tar.zip, extract the file and you will see 4 files within the one file you downloaded. Then flash all 4 files with odin.
Edit...Ok, I've checked my pc and the file is a tar.zip before you extract it and once it's extracted, there are 4 tar.md5 files. All you have to do is put the AP file in the AP slot, BL file in the BL slot and so on. I leave auto reboot checked, but that is up to you.
For the past couple of days I've been unable to unroot my device using Odin, which I have done many of times on the past. I went to Sammobile and got the latest firmware to flash back to stock, but everytime I attempt to do so the process Fails. USB Debugging is enabled so I don't have a clue what the problem could be. I had this problem on the note edge. What helped me was flashing cwm recovery and wiping everything

make sure u didn't check in settings the reactivation lock,
use twrp, wipe everything except sdcard... then boot into downloader mode, and it should work, I do know the reactivation lock should be the only thing to stop you.
hope that helps...

Who is your carrier and which firmware are you trying to use? Are you trying to downgrade/Update or something? Has the phone ever been rooted? Did you enable oem unlock in developer settings? It's kind of hard to just guess or help you with the information you've given us.
T-mobile and im trying to use stock note 5 firmware. Yes i was rooted and with a custom rom. Im trying to unroot the phone and put it back to stock but now it wont get past samsung note 5 logo and im still getting the fail from odin when trying to install the firmware.

That's because you rooted the phone and it tripped your Knox counter so the only way to fix this is to reinstall TWRP and then flash the rom again and after it's working go into SU and select remove root or whatever and then you'll need to extract the firmware you downloaded from T-Mobile and you'll need to put the files in the correct spot in Odin so they flash one at a time I.E. Boot, CM, RECOVERY etc etc... You should also try unzipping the firmware and then delete only cache.img and then repack/rezip it and try flashing it like that before trying all the other stuff.
Hey devs,
I'm using a5-2016 (sm-a510fd) with nougat. Today I've tried to downgrade to marshmallow because many Xposed modules I was using isn't working in nougat firmware. But one error which is troubling me a lot and I haven't encountered something like this for a while.

After this i've installed TWRP recovery and wiped system+data+cache+dalvik+internal , formatted data too but bad luck i keep on getting this error and my mobile is just dead for now. i've tried different usb ports and different usb cables repeating same process all over again. Same process all over and no luck so far. I require a lot of modules and customizations to survive because i'm legally blind and only Xposed help me make my life easier with my mobile. Waiting for help.

Hey devs,
I'm using a5-2016 (sm-a510fd) with nougat. Today I've tried to downgrade to marshmallow because many Xposed modules I was using isn't working in nougat firmware. But one error which is troubling me a lot and I haven't encountered something like this for a while.

Sorry Brother, You can't downgrade using Odin. Because Samsung blocks marshmallow bootloader when you are on Nougat Bootloader. YOU CAN ONLY UPGRADE using Odin. YOU CAN'T DOWNGRADE USING ODIN.
You can't go to Marshmallow stock from Nougat Stock using ODIN. I think u understood the concept. Try flashing a Nougat Firmware. You will not get any error. If u want marshmallow again, then u have to go for CUSTOM ROMs.
Hope this Helped u. Pressing Thanks Button proves that.??
Few months back I have upgraded to nougat and downgraded back to marshmallow without any problem.I was trying something new on my phone that tìme and it just bricked on me . So I flashed a nougat firmware and was using without root for sometime and it doesn't work for me much. Now I have flashed nougat firmware and phone is working and I want marshmallow. In S6 forum I saw someone had same problem and some pit file solved it and I have no idea what they have done.
