Hello,
after weeks of research and trying I'm here to share with you my problem.
Before some weeks I tried to unlock the bootloader of my lg l90, I got an error message and then it died, or that I thought.
The phone has no download mode, recovery, anything, it has just a black screen. Searching the web I found lot of people having the same problem as me, although none of the solutions I found online was able to fix my device. As some other people have the same problem it would be good if we could fix it.
What I've got:
Black screen lg l90 d405n
windows pc
ubuntu pc
image & verinfo folders if I connect my phone to a windows pc
all partitions of the phone when I connect it on a ubuntu pc
What I've tried:
Lg flash tool (and official kdz )
pushing aboot (and some other files) through terminal
b2b
Having a solution (or an idea of solution) please share it below

If it's completely dead, I think you should do the whole process again, unless someone else find a new way to do it.
If you have any doubt post it in the guide thread, I will try to help you.
Okay, thanks for your effort

Hey everyone.
I have the LG Thrill (P925) from AT&T. I'm used to changing roms and trying new things.
Well today I get a text from AT&T saying ICS is out, so I go and download the LG Mobile Support Tool
like the text says. The first few times don't work. I got stuck at the LG boot logo. (I didn't wipe the phone before.)
So I wait an hour to 1.5 hours. Still nothing. I try again and search the forums while I wait. Someone says to try using XP.
So I try in XP mode under Win 7. Everything is going well up until 90%. It does the whole driver disconnected sound as per normal
but then it happens. My phone starts up and shows the LG logo for 3/4ths of a second and then restarts (Black screen for 2 seconds) and
then repeats the whole process over again. What can I do?
(EDIT: Almost forgot: I was on CM7 when I tried to go to Official ICS)
All from the official LG tool...
SOLVED
After trying a few things I held the Volume up button and the power button to get it recognized by the computer. Then
I found a different copy of the LG Mobile support tool than what was on their site. I used the recovery phone option and it worked!
Hopefully this will help someone. I'll post where I got the tool soon.
Could you please give a link or tell me where you got the other lg mobile support tool. Because everything was going good for me and my phone restarted after it was done updating. But when it restarted it got hung up at the att animation and it just stays there... The way I got the official lg mobile support tool to recognize my phone was to put it into download mode also.
I got the KDZ_Flashing_Software.zip from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191698
Install the msxml from the zip then you can use the B2CAppSetup program.
Hope it helps.

Did these suggestions work for you? I'm in the same spot (frozen at&t logo). I've tried recovery phone several times to no avail. Trying one last time hoping for a miracle.
I was running a acidhazardrom gingerbread rom before attempting to update to latest official ICS. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I only got to a menu to wipe my device once. I tried many times and the time I got to it it only had one option which didn't seem to help.

I found out what I did wrong. I didn't uninstall the version of the LG Support Tool before using the one specified in your first post. I removed the original LG support tool and used the one you found and it worked.
Thanks for your help.

Glad to help.
I know it's something I did, probably the custom image I had running, but the LG Support Tool totally borked my phone. My Thrill would only stay on for a split second, and would continuously boot cycle when plugged into USB. The boot cycle was so fast that half the time it wouldn't even get to the LG logo!
Fixed it with fastboot (omap4boot) and SmartFlash Tool. What a nightmare. Only good thing is I was able to flash from BIN file directly to ICS.

Thanks for your help too. Obviously these issues stem from the fact that we used custom roms on the Thrill. It doesn't help that the LG Tools are complete software crap.

noope still stuck at the lg screen
I just got a used LG L90 to see if I could get it running, so far I can't.
When I turn it on it displays the LG logo for a few seconds then flashes to a green screen that says "Updating software (2/2)" for a fraction of a second before showing a black screen with the following white text:
FOTAFS_Open /cache/fota/log/FSUA_LOG_000.txt, 0, No such file o
FOTAFS_Create /cache/fota/log/FSUA_LOG_000.txt, 66, No such fil

I searched around and found that this phone had a system update that didn't complete correctly and now is stuck like this. I have no idea how to fix it though. I tried the "Flash Stock KDZ Offline LG L90" process, which was apparently successful but it didn't change what is happening.
Notes:
* If I restart with power+volume down it goes to the factory data reset page, but when I select yes it just does the reset, so no recovery is installed.
* If I hold volume up and plug in USB I can get to the software upgrade screen, that's how I did the KDZ flash. Can I do anything from that screen?
Please let me know, or point me in the direction of useful posts. I haven't done anything like this in a couple of years, so I'm a little out of the loop on most things.
Another Note:
On the Firmware Update screen there's a box at the bottom that says:
USER B40
ROOTED

Not sure if that will help any with the diagnosis. I've been trying to get ADB to connect but I can't get it to see the device. (Running adb with the
Code:
adb devices
command and it doesn't show anything).
can anyone had solution to this............??
My phone also struck at same mode.....
fake fota test error
I had no responses to this in any of the forums I posted in. I tried everything I could think of and eventually just contacted LG support. They took the phone in and yesterday I got it back. Looks like they switched it out for a new one, and the problem is obviously solved.
Not a very XDA solution, but an effective one nevertheless.

Yaa.
I contacted LG too .
they wanna replace motherboard..
I think I am missing something...??
because, when I flashed new KDZ it again boots into the same ..
I am trying to get adb access,
If I got the access I can remove laf.img so i can enter into fastboot mode. where I can flash rom/ recovery
otherwise wiping cache and fota partition might work...
still doing some experiments..
But in G2 forums,
one member mentioned that it can't solved until u go to LG service..
but I saw some guides in G2 to unbrick ..
I'll try....
The notes from the repair said something about a "bad language" and that they replaced the motherboard.
It's definitely a new phone though, there were scuffs on the corners of the one I sent in that are not there now, it's scratch free!
Ok I need some help. As of right now my tab is dead, the only thing it does when powered on is loads to the Asus splash screen and that's all. I can not get it into Fastboot mode at all and Adb cant find it either. I have already tried Sp Flashtools to no avail. I have all the Vcom drivers installed, every where I searched the one driver that people talked about was the mtk6585 driver ( I think that's what it is ) , the one for me that popped up and went away really fast was a driver called CLOVERVIEW. So needless to say I cant get SP Flash tools to work, and without fastboot mode im really stuck. Ever since I first came across this site a few years back I have rooted, and put custom roms on countless devices, I would call myself an experienced flasher. Well this tab has me feeling like a real noob, I can not figure it out. So if someone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you XDA world.

I just got myself into the same situation. If you can get to a point where CLOVERVIEW comes up, that can be fixed (I actually just added a howto to the general section). However, I don't know how to get out of the stuck splash screen, since it's an awkward medium between download and fastboot. I'm not even sure what I did to cause this; I had just flashed boot.img and splashscreen.img and issued a fastboot reboot-bootloader.
The device does indeed pop up in download mode for about a second while booting; doesn't seem long enough for a flash. I would really like to find out if there is any way to force this device to boot into download mode.
i was freezing and uninstalling apps last night and must have removed something critical to the operating system. Now my phone will only load the Security Error screen with (authetication failure) in small print. i've been told that my phone isn't bricked but that i need to reflash the image. Im currently in Download mode but don't know what to do next. i have the rom image that i initially rooted the phone with. Thanks in Advance. peace
same boat ... but i don.t have the system.img in my storage
Try this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-recovering-bootloop-twrp-t3167361. Try adb pushing the image to your phone if it still recognize the connection
adb push system_image_name.img /sdcard/system_image_name.img

YES YES YES i still am having this issue. Thanks for responding
I tried to root my ATT LG G4 H810 running H81010I using this procedure: how-to-root-the-att-h810-lg-g4 page at androidexplained.com ... I now get a "Security Error" with "Authentication Fail #11" everytime it boots up and then shuts down. I believe I used 10g instead of 10i version (which I downloaded from the root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765 page at xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/), but now cannot seem to use any of the recovery methods because I do not know how to push the proper [system.img] file to the root directory. I can get to the "Firmware Update" screen but the hard reset function does not appear to work.
Can anyone help?

Hi, saw you helping a lot of people. Hope I can be next, lol. I'm attempting to repair a botched root attempt on H8110. Apparently, the first rooted image was not the correct one. The phone is stuck in a boot loop with "Security Error". I can get into download mode, but can no longer USB copy the correct image over. What steps can I take to get back on track? Thank you!
