hey there, i want to install lollipop 5.1.1 on my galaxy note 1 n7000 4.1.2 but when i am trying to flash the cwm from my android system recovery 3e it gives me signature verification failed then i tried to flash the philz touch through odin and did not work. please help me i had been trying for almost 4 hours
Always the same problem. Flash first a PhilZ kernel to get a advanced recovery. Then flash correct kernel for newer Roms like 5.1.x. Normally all written in the Rom thread.

Hi guys I'm new to the N7000 forums, but I am no means new to the android and flashing scene. I'm just a bit confused as to how to safely install ROM's on the note.
I've attached a screenshot of my "about phone" so you guys can tell me what kernel I should flash before installing different ROMs
The ROM(s) I'm interested in flashing are Jellybam, Sweet ROM (JB version) and Ultimate jellybean. Can these roms work with any safe kernel? i.e. once iv'e flashed philz or franco kernel I can let the flashing begin.
Also do I need to flash a safe kernel in order to install cyanogenmod or other, not based on stock roms?
Forgot to mention that I am rooted. Any help at all would be appreciated, if I am wrong about anything so far, feel free to set me straight.
Thanks to all who responded, if anyone else wants to reply feel free but i'm going to mark this as resolved so their won't be any confusion.

if you are on stock kernel then download Philz kernel for LP7, flash that in recovery, should give you root again aswell. then you can flash away to any of the ROMs you listed above. just every time you flash a ROM or think of factory reset or data wiping make SURE you're on a SAFE kernel. that's all
as you are rooted, just install any safe kernel like hydracore or philz. thats all. then you can try out any rom. Just make sure you follow the instruction to flash the rom in the OP
I saw that the Philz kernel has a lot of different versions, which one do I choose, am I right in saying the UBLPC one, as that is my build number? Or any one can work, I also read that you should not flash with the temp CWM, I will admit though I used the temp CWM to flash the root files and i'm still ok but I don't want to take any chances, how do I flash with the stock recovery?

this is the one you use - PhilZ-cwm6-UBLPC-UUB-2.7
http://www.mediafire.com/file/35d4kd...2.7-signed.zip
the zip file mentioned above can be flashed using stock recovery. Put the file on ext SD card > boot into recovery > apply update from external storage > thats it

First, forget about the franco kernel. The franco kernel for the Note is outdated and thus useless. Second, if you plan to flash a JB leak the only kernel you should use is PhilZ. And especially important with the JB leaks is to stick exactly to the instructions how to flash. Otherwise your phone won't even boot.
Have fun with your device! The Note is still an outstanding phone.
Sent from my revived Galaxy Note
Thanks guys for the quick replies, i'm gonna flash the philz kernel now and give the leaked version of JB a try.
make nandroid backup 1st..
Hello members,
this is my first post on this forum.
I have a common problem when installing custom ROM - particulary Paranoid Android.
Every time I try to flash the ROM I get the same error (the worldwide famous STATUS 7 ).
I admit that I am new to rooting/flashing phones and that I might be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I've been doing a 3-day long research on the interent and especially this forum but I couldn't find anything that would make it work.
Here is the basic info about my device:
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (international model).
My Android version is 4.1.2.
Baseband version N7000XXLT3.
Kernel version 3.0.31-1103517 [email protected] #3 SMP PREEMPT Sat Apr 20 02:25:55 KST 2013.
Built numer is JZO54K.N7000XXLT5.
Here is a short list of things I've already done in order to solve my problem:
1) My phone is rooted using SuperSU;
2) I have installed ROM Manager and downloaded the latest version (6.0.1.2) of ClockWorkmod Recovery (CWM Recovery) for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000;
I have even tried with older versions of the same Recovery but the problem wasn't solved;
3) I downloaded the Paranoid Android from links given in this forum. I've tried with several different versions of PA. For instance I've tried ParanoidAndroid 3.10, ParanoidAndroid 3.99, ParanoidAndroid 3.99 RC2 but the results were same;
4) After that I tried to download PA via goo.im and make shure that I didn't download the wrong version of PA (but that was highly unlikely because there was always a "n7000" part of the name of the ZIP file);
5) I downloaded the Gapps as well, both via goo.im and via forum links but I didn't even get to the part where I should install the Gapps;
6) I found another possible solution on this forum and that is editing the updater-script located in META-INF/com/google/android. I did it in several ways mentioned by different people in the net/forum each time starting from scratch with a fresh download and a untouched updater-scrip (just to make sure that the previous edits wouldn't effect the current edits). And should I even say that this didn't solve my problem?;
7) After I read that the issue might be in CWM Recovery I googled for another recovery and I constantly ran into the Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) but it seems that there is no version of TWRP for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000;
Now I'm stuck with my stock rom and I would like to try out the benefits of custom ROMs.
If there is anyone who could help me out with this I would be so glad.
If you have any questions about device, software or methods I've alredy tried out (or didn't) please feel free to ask/suggest.
Thank you all in advance!
Vaskelichius
SOLUTION!!!
I would like to thank once again to nokiamodeln91 who helped me out with this issue. If this solved your problems please thank nokiamodeln91. You can find his posts below.
The problem was solved using PhilZ. Here is a link to the thread where everything you should know about PhilZ is explained:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191.
I'd like to underline that you have to choose the right kernel according to your built number. In my case it is XXLT5. Just follow the link above - it is all perfectly explained in a few posts.
After that I installed ParanoidAndroid 3.99 and the matching Gapps from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120803.
ParanoidAndroid is just on of many custom ROMs and it is up to you to choose the one that suits you the best. I was just giving a example of what I did.
I hope that this can help some of you and save you time and nerves! :fingers-crossed:
For note you will first need to install a custom kernel. Then you can install the ROM.
What's the kernel on your device?

Hey, thanks for your time!
Isn't my kernel listed in the first post? Is this what you're asking for:
Kernel version 3.0.31-1103517 [email protected] #3 SMP PREEMPT Sat Apr 20 02:25:55 KST 2013?
If not could you tell me how to find what kernel I'm using?
Thanks in advance!
Can't really make out what the kernel is. You mentioned you are rooted. So did you flash a kernel like Philz to root?
If not then you can head over to his thread and flash a kernel corresponding to your build number. Then you will get permanent cwm recovery. Then you can flash a custom ROM.
Installing cwm from ROM manager does not stick after a reboot and could be risky.

Alright. Thank you! I hope I would understand the whole process and get custom ROMs working.
Thanks again!
Rooting with philz kernel is simple. Search for the kernel matching your rom and place I on external SD. Boot into recovery and flash the kernel. Then reboot into recovery. You should have cwm. Now your are ready to flash a custom ROM. Read the flashing procedure on the ROM thread instructions.

I found the right kernel, downloaded it and copied it to external storage. I also copied the ROM and Gapps ZIP files. I read the instructions both for Philz and ParanoidAndroid. I'll give it a try later and if everything works as supposed I'll post it and I'll change the thread title by adding SOLVED.
Everything is workin perfectly! I had no trouble installing Philz, ParanoidAndroid and Gapps.
I'll edit the first post with details.

Wrong section, please read rules before posting, there is tons of thread in Q&A with a similar issue....
...you must respect others, dev's work hard to make 4.4.2 possible for us furthermore CM11 is in ALPHA stage!
I invite you to solve these "thousand of errors in the ROM" instead of complaining
...you'll need Odin to change your recovery/ flash a fresh Stock rom
Thank you for uderstanding it

error 7 happens when your kernel/recovery does not support your rom. Use philz to enter recovery and install a raw kernel from here. Choose the appropriate kernel and flash it, reboot into recovery and you're ready to flash the rom.

Hi All,
was trying to install cm11 and cm12 on n7000 bt it failed i had installed philwz custom recovery with that it gave me error
i had bricked my device bt now i have managed to install the stock rom
my device is rooted need help in installing cwm recovery so that i can install cm11 or cm12 or any other rom
how do i install cwm tried many ways.. need flash files to install it with odin
also i searched in forums bt am confused regarding kernal and all
Please need assistance
Thank u very much.
I think you're in the wrong section. anyway,
1. if you're still on stock recovery, try install Philz kernel(search in the forum) for your stock ROM, Install it using update function in the stock recovery.
2. reboot to recovery again, you'll have philz recovery (but it's outdated for flashing android KK and above ROM, but you have to install it first since it pass the stock recovery verification) then flash kernel that compatible with android KK n android L.
3. then reboot to recovery again, and finally install your cm11 or 12 ROM and the following Gapps they provide
I Tried that bt still not able to find the correct version for my mobile if you guide me for the proper link/ direct link i can provide all the information required
thanks
You can find it following this:
3.flash PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 (http://d-h.st/OTu) to get cwm recovery by using odin or mobile odin (To download click the blue Download now button)
