Galaxy Note Launcher Lag

Hi, does anyone have any tips as to how I can eliminate the lag on my Note when using other launchers? Every single launcher apart from stock is laggy. I'm using GB and don't want to flash any ICS rom yet because they're mostly buggy. Thanks.

My phone is rooted. I've frozen all the dumb apps. Does it make a difference if I remove them completely?

its better cause there is not touchwiz rom jb as of yet for our phone, but doesnt have the spen support nor s-apps functional.
So it depends, you like all the s stuff, stick with tw roms, you dont use them use jellycore. Only s-app like functional to my knowledge are some note taking apps.

I know that on CM based ROMS memo sketchbook + other memo clones run just fine, the ROM has s-pen support, just not Samsung developed app support.

yeah the pen works, just not the buttons / gestures unleass an app has it.
Jellycore is modded cm10 btw

SM-N9005 firmware

Has anyone ever tried flashing the international version nc2 firmware on to their SM-N900A? If so did the phone work? Or did it brick? I'm just curious. Was thinking of doing this but, I don't want to brick my phone. Don't care if I trip knox.

Stock firmware will screw your phone. Only use a custom ported ROM.
Why would you want to flash the stock international firmware anyways.

I've always found the international versions to run games and apps so much more smoother ever since the captivate days. I like to play games and run a lot of apps on my phone and for some reason international versions always out performs the at&t bloated crap.

So what if I would use a kernel for the n9005 to get custom recovery. Would that screw up my phone aswell?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes. Locked bootloaders. If you were able to successfully flash it (you wouldn't) it would brick. You would need to unlock the bootloaders (can't be done at this time) to be able to flash a different kernel.
If any of this were possible (it's not) we would not be having a problem.

Basically... There is a lot more than just flashing required to make stuff work. The code has to be modified to run on our device, as well as bootloaders being signed and locked to each phone.

Thanks graydiggy for your help. If that's the case I would rather just use all these nice ROMs that all these fine devs have prepared for us. Also what tutorial would you recommend to learn how to port ROMs to our device? I've been wanting to learn this for a long while now.

I have no idea about tutorials for software...
But this is a good place to start http://xda-university.com
I'm more into hardware mods than anything.
