Is it possible to download the complete source code that Sony used when they compiled the ROM for Xperia V. I know where to find the kernel source and of course Android is very easy to get but what about everything else. I'm especially interested in knowing if they made any changes to Android or if they only cluttered the phone with add-ons.
Since Sony did abuse the phone and broke it to badly to make a reinstall possible I'm mainly just interested in getting the sources for my own education and understanding of the system. Perhaps even to try some simple reverse engineering to fix some really absurd settings like NFC not working in lock screen and such before I sell the phone and never ever talk about or to Sony again.
please use search and/or google

Thank you for at least answering me however, I have goggled a lot about this and the link you posted to the best of my knowledge contains only the kernel source plus a few other system programs that are used on the host side when compiling. I'm honestly quite surprised that the answer to this is not well known. I have also since yesterday tried to find out what branch of android is used but that too seem to be obscured in darkness.

from what I am aware of those are the full sources used to compile the ROM, not just the kernel.
what do you mean by "What branch of android is used"

Well, look at the size. It is about 250MB, about the size of the kernel. The Android source is in the gigabyte range, I also have downloaded and compiled the kernel and the file you download contains a kernel folder and a external folder with the helper programs I mentioned.
Well I can't links since I'm to new here but if you do a search for "Codenames, Tags, and Build Numbers" on Google you will see that there are several branches for each version of Android. But now when I looked closer at that list it just so happens that 4.1.2 only has one branch so you can ignore that question, i was tired yesterday and was looking for 4.1.1 that has more like six branches. Still seems hard to find out what would be the right one in that case.
OK, I see what you want.
I am not sure where to find that info, but there will be some on here that will know.
try PMing championshipswimmer or DooMLoRD
They are busy people, but they may be able to point you in the right direction.
Dear Fellufz,
CM13 Nightlys are officially available. Any chance to bring this to work for this little sweet device? As I can see, there is a Custom rom based on CM12.1 .... Maybe we could build something onto it to make cm13 work? ( at least make it a WiP, nobody needs bluetooth)
Any thought's on this?`
I definitely hope so and I think developers will be getting onboard for this. It is still relatively new to the market but especially at this price point and the black Friday deals, this is flying off the shelves. Its just such a nice little tablet to play and experiment with roms and see how we can push it for great general use. Looking forward to trying various roms on this thing. CM13 can't come soon enough for this.
I'd imagine alot of people will be looking go get it as its only £35 in the UK I don't know what the us price is

No they do NOT. There are only like 4 devices now that get the official nighties all being flagship phones. I doubt this device will ever have official support. It will probably get CM 13...eventually. I doubt that anyone will build it for a while though. There are way too many changes to the SRC as more and more code is pushed to the GIT. When CM official full releases come about, then is the time to expect CM 13.
Hey Everyone,
I'm fairly new to the Android community. I got an R1 and have since rooted it and de-bloated it. But I was wondering what the state of Cyanogenmod is. I've heard they've stopped development on it. Is there any chance they (or someone) will add support for the Blu R1 HD?
I'm interested in getting a full AOSP experience without the closed source google services kit software.

Don't hold me to this, but I personally believe CM13 support will not be too difficult. It'll be later versions of Android that will pose a problem.
Also, CM13 for the R1 HD is being worked on. It's just a matter of time.

I'm in the same exact boat, have rooted/de-bloated and installed trebuchet and other features, but really would like to see CM support.

I don't understand too much about android ROM development, but what would prevent CM14 development/future versions from being developed?
contacted Blu and they told me that they are looking forward to working on updating as many devices as they can to the new platform as soon as possible!......righhtttt!!!
Once the dev. on the kernel is in line for a cm13 port , cm14 (which is already being worked on) hopefully might be a possibility.

Me either, but I think it would be the drivers. I would suspect with CM13 they can use it's current drivers but with anything Android 7.0 they would need new drivers.
Blu has updated a few devices haven't they? They have to develop the drivers and then run it through the carriers approval I believe? I'm sure they are looking at how much money they expect to make from the R1 HD in 4-6 months. Some of this might depend on their plans of a new phone they plan to release. R1 HD is a big seller.... but what about in 6 months?
A device tree is very likely being compiled for this device now that the kernel source has been released. A CM 13 build I'd imagine is also in the works with other custom roms likely to follow. I would just sit back and keep your eye out. As soon as customs ROMs are released you should easily find them in R1 HD Forums on XDA. I wouldnt hold your breath for anything beyond android 6.0 on this device tho! Marshmallow ROMs will be more then sufficient for these devices and most devs really don't like to hear when this or that will be updated or released.

No, I'm pretty sure once devs can build AOSP 6.0 for this device, it'll get 7.0, even if BLU abandons it. I mean, you do realize that you're on a website famous for, among other things, providing unofficial updates to unsupported devices, right?

Yeah I know exactly where I am bro. The fact that its such a low cost device and the unlikely hood of Blu updating the kernel source to 7.0 makes it very very unlikely there will ever be any kind of 7.0 update on these phones. Plenty of unofficial updates of ROMs are released but not many are above the "official" releases like going from 5.0 to 6.0 or 6.0 to 7.0. Were still waiting to see how Devs react to the R1 HD now since its not a big name mainstream device. So like I was saying if we don't see Blu update to 7.0 which is doubtful, we prob won't see any kind of Nuaget. Not saying its impossible without a Blu update just wouldn't hold my breath waiting on a Dev to take on that task on this particular device....

"Not a big name mainstream device"
Totally man. The number 1 selling phone on Amazon isn't a "big name, mainstream device." If anything this phone is proving how Android development is dwindling.
There was a article that said Blu would release Android 7.0 for the R1 HD. I don't know how reliable or legitimate it is.

They probably did say it, BLU has a history of promising upgrades, they rarely deliver. I don't know if the blame is theirs or their Chinese partners, not delivering. But even at that if BLU was smart they would hire a team of developers to actually develop roms instead of just simple branding tweaks on the manufacturer supplied firmware. BLU needs to tweak their sales routine, currently they sell flashy looking phones on the cheap, but if they would change their focus to selling entry to mid level phones with better support, they could really make a name for themselves.
As of every hour and every minute now we seeing new ROMs popping up for various devices now and but seems that the development for our ghost has come to end??
Well something requested by us is simply rejected by the senior members with all due respect.
For example:I recently demanded for a stock like Marshmallow based rom coming with all the special moto features like display,voice,etc.. but they rejected and recommended to try the cm 13 which loses all the Moto functionalities!?
Hence I finally put a request for one more time to build special type of ROMs for our moto devices just like the XOSP(Xperia open source project) and honourable name it as "MBOSP"(MotoBlur Open Source Project).
As much as i would love to have such rom, Moto X is 3 years a old device and I don't think anyone will work this much for an older device. I am using official CM13 by @Megatron007 and it is great. Maybe you should request the devs of existing roms to add Moto functionalities in their roms.
There can't be a Marshmallow stock rom, because there isn't a Marshmallow stock rom to start with.
There can be if built from aosp
LOL no
There can be atleast a stock like!
At this point I just want to have my verizon 1060 bootloader unlocked. I got it after it had been updated with no chance of putting cyanogen on it
I demand a working Nougat rom right now!
Those damn developers should do something to earn those salaries paid by XDA.
minimum a donation xD by users

What are you paying?
Hi community!
There is a WIP (Work in Progress) ROM being mainly developed by @Rortiz2 and @diegocr: https://github.com/LOSMantis
Current ROM Status:
- Not Stable
Not Working:
- Sound
- OMX
- Maybe more...
Developers out there that would like to join development are welcome!...
Notice: This is a WIP ROM. It needs to be compile from the source (build steps could be adapted from the Nexus Player https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/fugu/build) if someone wants to try it out. Ready to flash builds would maybe be available when the ROM is more stable. Please do not ask for ETA, it is being developed in the spare time of the developers!

Yes, but full of bloatware, with some blocking mechanisms or black listed apps, no Google Play Store...
We are not allowed to change the home app easily, to use the standard Android settings without Amazon home app, not install already purchased apps on the Google Play Store and so on...
With root you can disable remove the "bloatware", although personally i dont think there is much i dont use. The fireOS TV is fairly smooth and easy to navigate. The android TV version is worse (IMO, I have a NVidea). You can disable the NIMH app, although i have yet to find any app it is blocking. The play store for androidTV is horrible. LauncherX is fairly easy to install. As with tank and sloan, i would expect issues with roms.

For now all is working except OMX and Audio so it's not worth to release anything.

Hi Rortiz2,
Why are you so mad about this thread? We did not ask for a working ROM or any release dates and we appreciate all your time and dedication to the project...
As I wrote in the subject, this is a WIP (Work in Progress) ROM... Have seen so many threads like this in other forums here on XDA where the ROM only boots but nothing works...
I have created this thread to allow other devs to join the project (if nobody talks about it, than nobody knows that a project already exists and can not help).
But if you would like to do this project alone, just tell me an I will delete this thread...
Best regards,
Michael

Just throwing out an idea here but would getting some kind of test build out help? Perhaps getting some catlogs from the community could help find a solution? Again just throwing an idea out.

+1 for a test build, I've got a bricked 4k that boots both the hacked bootloader and TWRP, but whatever image I install has no display...
So I would like to try anything else even if stuff is broken on it (just to see if I can get a display).
thx.

It's at developer's discretion to discuss or release test builds here and considering that this particular rom still has some major bugs (call them deal breakers if you want), then i personally agree with the devs not releasing it yet.
Also, i didn't tested personally, but probably a custom rom like this may also break some features available on stock rom.
This being said, i'm sure that it will be released as soon as the guys behind it will consider it stable enough.
P. S. BTW, thread title is misleading and probably aldo violates XDA rules.

I totally understand and respect that. I did bring up having some kind of developer/user test build done just in case that could help further along getting said bugs fixed by getting catlogs that might help narrow down what is causing the issues. But if the devs feel that doing that would only slow things down (or even not help at all) then I respect that decision.

That's the nature of things when it comes to Lineage OS ROMs (and AOSP in general). Sometimes devs are able to get the ROMs to have nearly all the functionality of the device working... and sometimes not. But I generally prefer Lineage myself due to the overall experience being faster since LOS tends to not have all the bloat that stock ROMs sometimes have - especially Amazon devices which feel so bloated down with garbage I will never use.

Hi Pretoriano80,
As I already replied to one of the devs, I never asked for a release date or ROM for flashing. The title also is marked as WIP (Work in Progress), that means that the ROM is in development and not ready for use...
I have seen that you already made a great job with the custom kernel. Thanks! Would you also like to help this project as it seems it also can use your kernel? Kernel dev with ROM devs would be the best team!
Thanks again to all devs that work hard for releasing new stuff for the Amazon devices...
How's the progress so far?
Looks like nothing much: https://github.com/LOSMantis/android_vendor_amazon_mantis

it's not worth to test since it's a dead project, it would be more usefull to begin a new project developing LineageOS 16 rom , At least we will be able to use the new Android/Google TV UI.

LineageOS 16 won't ever be able to happen for the Mantis version because it doesn't support treble, the most it could do is LOS 14.1 since it's a legacy device.
