[Q] custom rom problem,

i have installed cwm recovery 4.0.0.5 and trying to download paranoid android custum rom 2.6.but after installing rom my is not booting and i am unable to use my phone.:crying::crying: pls help

first check if the rom is for old or new bootloader.Is this your rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097807 ?I suggest you use the ICS (NEW) bootloader version.So you need to install it.Download All in one tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737 .Use option 4 and select new bootloader and CWM 6.0.x.x.If you have an external sd card then put the rom (Paranoid ICS bootloader version on it and Gapps).When you successfully install new bootloader and recovery then just flash the rom from recovery alongside gapps.Dont forget to wipe data/cache/dalvik

I have followed the the procedure 【Guide】How To flash ANY Captivate ROM from Stock (including ICS) to upgrade my Froyo 2.1 to any latest rom but it failed to do so due to error

. I have now CWM recovery V2.5.1.0 Speedmod ULFX installed ( Green text one) . I have learned in so many posts that this version of CWM is too old to install recent ROMs . I've tried below rom but couldn't make that work :
CyanFox Rom
omni-MACKAY_ROM-4.4.2-20131217-galaxysmtd
I tired :
Wipe out cash
User data
Please help me on this

Read carefully and follow this Guide. For 4.3.x and 4.4.x based ROMs see installation instructions in corresponding threads.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I've finally made my way to install [ROM][JB] [4.3] Avatar ROM for Samsung Captivate but it has just too many bugs.My keyboard is not working and keeps on crashing. Now i have CWM 6 installed and which helped this ROM installed. Regarding other ROM i have mentioned here is still giving me the same error.
Any idea?

Hi,
I was finally able to flash the AVATAR rom . I messed around with installing latest google apps and which made the keyboard crashed , Now its working like charm ,
However, here is what i did.
1. I followed the guide 【Guide】How To flash ANY Captivate ROM from Stock (including ICS) to upgrade my Eclair 2.1 . Did exactly what was in the tutorial and succeed . ** Just a note- I missed to copy ROM in the SD card , which i managed to do later by mounting USB storage from CWM .
2. I went for flashing and it was always giving me the error when i tried to flash my phone with the rom CyanFox Rom
3. Then i downloaded the rom AVATAR and went for flashing , suddenly the phone rebooted ( Still it did not install the ROM) and a new version of CWM 6 appeared with Blue text . From there i flashed the new ROM and it was a success.
Currently i am running my phone without any problem .
However, I still can not flash below ROM

omni-MACKAY_ROM-4.4.2-20131217-galaxysmtd
do you have any idea on how to make it work ?

- stop asking same questions in 2 different threads, please
- read carefully the Guide in post #2 ant try to understand the process
- read carefully installation instructions for the ROMs you want to try
- avoid installation of experimental/ported ROMs as your first Custom ROM
- be careful what partition setup is needed for the ROM you want to install
- don't change default CM kernel for CM10.2 and up

Status 0
Status 0 means that you have a wrong script (for your phone). The script in "/META-INF/com/google/android" folder. I doubt that it's the ROM's problem. I also flashed CyanFox 4.4 for Galaxy S II. But had to flash CWM 6.0.4.x first. It worked only then, it didn't even flash using CWM 6.0.3.
So I think you can also flash CWM 6.0.4.x on your cappy and try this?

hey guys
i got a note 1 N7000
the 4.1.2 rom was on the device
i decided to instal a kitkat cyanogenmod 11 |nightly| on the device
according to this guide :

i rooted the device which i doubt if i did this right
then i copied the rom file in the internal storage
i got to recovery , got a backup , wipe & reset factory
then i installed the rom but it didn't install correctly and i got the failure message in recovery
now i unpluged the device and turn it on , it shows a yellow warning and doesn't go any further
i could use some help to install a 4.4 version of android

May he you wiped system that's why it's not booting.. If you are able to get into recovery then transfer raw r4 into sd card. Then boot into recovery. Flash raw kernel first. Then reboot into recovery. Flash the kitkat rom.

which kitkat rom do you prefer to install on this phone ?

i flashed a R5 kernel but the recovery mode has changed to Team Win Recovery Project 2.6.3.0
and i can't mount the device or flash a rom
how do i get back to previous recovery ?
can i instal a recovery with odin ?
P.S : i solved this one

but the WIFI doesn't work
any idea ?

Doesn't work? Means? Does it turn on or not? If yes and then can't see any networks, then go to advanced wifi settings and set the region.

[Help]Bootloop after flashing Resurrection Remix 5.4.5

Followed the tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note/development/rom-resurrection-remix-lp-5-2-0-t2982773
but failed.
Tried different versions of CWM ... got stuck with Status 7 error.
Later on, I also thought of trying TWRP as mentioned in the above link.
The phone goes into bootloop...does not start-up but yea, i can go into the CWM Recovery.I tried flashing TWRP over CWM.It did not replace the existing cwm.
Current CWM recovery on my phone is PhilZ-cwm6-ZSLO2-OZS-5.00.5-signed
Tried to flash this Resurrection_Remix_LP_v5.4.5-20150519-i9100 but got status 7 error which means i used a wrong recovery i think..
Please tell me which version of CWM should i use or maybe TWRP.
and also a stable Resurrection ROM ..
And which G Apps should i use ...i have the latest one (5-27-15) ?_?
Am i suppose to flash a stock firmware all over again? Or can i just fix my phone by flashing the remix 5.4.5?

I have only 2 ROMS downloaded on my PC as of now resurrection 5.4.5 and 5.4.0(stable) so is it possible to fix my phone using these?

With your current recovery flash raw kernel for cm11 or cm12.. Then boot into new recovery and flash the RR ROM.

Did you reboot into the new recovery? Also make sure you have good download.. It could be a broken zip too. I still don't get what bootloop you are talking about.

later i found a kitkat rom and i had to fladh cwm 6 for ace to install it , i flashed the recovery then i couldn't flash any rom with it , i flashed twrp recovery and still can't flash roms
i think E: error executing updater binary or something
please help i want to flash a good rom

Install CWM 5 and try to flash a new ROM to verify if the process works fine.

And now... what's your status? can you boot into recovery?
