[Q] No valid recipient; when posting images only - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

I share images, in text messages, with several friends, and all but one gets them.
For one person the images comes back, marked "no valid recipient".
That's odd because she gets all my text messages.
She tells me she gets images in text messages from other people.
I have no idea if the problem is on my end or hers.

Odd situation with Text Messages

I'm new to PDA Phones, so this may not be Tilt/Kaiser related.
When I send text messages (by going to the contact list, tapping the person's name, and then tapping "send text message") to anyone, they get it without any problems. But when I go to them in the "sent" text messages folder, EVERY text message displays my brother's contact right below after the "To:" (with the correct contact) and "date:" (with the correct info). It shows my brother's contact as if he was the sender.
Why would this be. What can I do?

Have you got your own number listed as brother in your contacts?

Thank you very much guys. How dumb of me!
I listed my number in my brother's contact (the difference between his number and mine is 1 number).
Thanks again.

Phantom text message counter

Hi all,
I tried to post on this before and see if someone had any ideas on what to do. I have a wing, and a few months ago, the text message counter started showing a phantom message indicator so even though there were no unread messages, on the today screen, it would show 1 unread message. Nothing I could think of made that go away. Now, today it did it again, so there are now 2 unread text messages showing on the today screen but there are not 2 unread messages in the inbox. I've even tried deleting all text messages so that there is nothing in any of the boxes (in, out, saved, deleted) and it still shows 2 unread messages. It's annoying and makes it difficult to get an accurate count when I am just glancing at my phone.
Any help would be appreciated.
Jamie
search for something called "FIXUNREADCOUNT"
it's a simple exe file, you copy over to ur phone and run from the phone that will fix these issues.

how to make it one large text

how can i make it when i get a long text message that its one big message instead of being broken up ? because its always broken up into a bunch of messages. Cant I make it one when i receive it ?
Its not your phone that does it, its the senders phone that breaks them up. And no, there is nothing you can do about it. Sms stands for short message service. If you want longer ones you'll have to communicate via email.

[Q] Text message notification stuck/keeps returning

I apologize if this has been asked/resolved before, but I searched the forums and google quite a bit to no avail. I have found other instances of people with this issue but have not found a resolution yet.
Every time I receive a single text message, I get a notification on the unlock screen that says I have 2 texts. When I unlock the phone and pull down the notification area, it lists the 2 texts. One of the texts is the actual text i just received and I can access it just fine. The other text listed is a text from weeks ago that has long been deleted, including the entire thread it was in. This ghost text will not go away.
I can clear the notifications and it goes away, but as soon as I receive another text from anyone, it pops up there again. I have tried some other solutions that popped up on google. These were to download the SMS Cleaner app and search by keyword. Upon doing this, the app does not find any texts with the keywords from the ghost text.
I have also tried replying to the text to create a new thread and maybe try to delete it again, but even when the new thread is created/deleted the ghost text comes back.
I also turned off/on text notifications several times also combined with power cycling the phone, which did not solve this either.
Note: This text was from a room alert system in our server room at work. It sends email alerts that we then have converted to text message and sent to our phones.
Not sure if it being an email has anything to do with it, but I have received these alerts several times before without any of them getting stuck.
My phone is still on 2.1 and was rooted using Unleash the Beast.
Anyone have the same problem, or any ideas? Is there a folder that holds texts somewhere in the root file system that I can clean out?
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give as much detail about the problem as possible, this has been annoying me for weeks.
Try deleting the email alert? Just spitballing...
This happened to me last night!
I keep getting the same Ghost Txt message
The only way i can think to get rid of it would be a Data Reset.
But i dont wanna erase my whole phone cuz of a software issue that may happen again!
Have u fixed it?
No, still no luck on this. Anyone have any ideas?
I had a problem similar to this with the dumb phone that i had before my Captivate. I called AT&T customer support because I didn't want to reset my phone and they got it resolved. Apparently there was a message stuck in their server marked as unread, but since it had been read on my phone it said 0 new messages. This might work for you, too?
Solved
Open the spot where notifications are read the phone number and send a text to it, it will open the message thread and you can delete it there

save multiple SMS drafts for the same recipient

Hi,
There's something I'd like to do on my samsung galaxy note that I was able to do on my Symbian-based device in the past, but I can't figure out how to do it under Android.
I'd like to save multiple SMS drafts per recipient. However, my Galaxy note only seems to permit me to save one SMS draft per recipient, with each subsequent draft overwriting the previous draft for that same recipient.
Here's why I'd like to have this capability:
If I want to type a long SMS to someone (more than 160 characters), what I like to do is split the message at logical places such as after commas, sentence endings, etc. I would do this by getting close to the end of a given SMS message and then stopping it at the point that I choose, saving it as a draft, and then continuing my text in a new SMS starting at the beginning of the next sentence, phrase, etc. Then, once the set of drafts is completed, I will first proofread and make corrections in the entire group of drafts, and only then will I manually send them off, one after the other.
Yes, I know I can type a long message and the SMS app will automatically split it into pieces after 160 characters, but that often splits words or breaks sentences and phrases in places that I don't want them broken.
Here's how I try to accomplish this on my G1:
Invoke the Messaging app.
Select New Message.
Select recipient.
Compose first SMS.
Select the Back key (draft 1 gets saved).
Select New Message.
Select same recipient as before.
Compose second SMS.
Select the Back key (draft 2 gets saved).
However, at this point, draft 1 has been overwritten by draft 2. In other words, only draft 2 remains.
Can anyone think of a way for me to accomplish what I want (or at least something similar) on my samsung galaxy note?
Thanks in advance.
