Yes that's right Google is not sending updates directly to Android One devices anymore and instead they left this to the partner which is in this case Infinix.
That's why the HOT 2 is still on Android 5.1.1 after one month of Android 6.0 release
this quote is from Google support page
"Android One phones receive the latest version of Android from Google’s hardware partners. Google’s partners send updates based on their schedule - trying to get them to you as soon as possible. All partners have committed to provide software updates for at least eighteen months after the phone’s initial public launch. "
This means at this point the device manufactures are the one that controlling the updates for Android One devices and the support and fast updates directly from Google is just a bullsh*t
Google is just screwing all the Android One users just because they paid for a cheap phone

I think since Android one first generation OEMs and Partners send the updates to devices, not google. My Nexian Journey One has Nexian's built in apps that can't be uninstalled from one to another update until the last update, Android 6.0.
This won't affect me so long as the updates from OEMs and Google partners are timely and less buggy.
It appears Google solely send updates to Nexus devices.
Well, next time I'll want to get the latest update on Android, it has to be a nexus devices
I've been told by support center Infinix (Indonesia) that for Infinix Hot 2 X510 marsmallow update will arrive in November (he don't tell me the date), that's all, not sure if it's reliable enough ,lol..

just received the reply below from infinixmobility regarding 6.0 update
"Maybe the end of 2015 or the beginning of 2016.
Please pay attention to the infnix website and Facebook page.
Thank you very much for your support !"
Ya its f'ing b*****it infinix hasn't pushed out the update yet. How does it expect to keep customer loyalty or grow market share when stuff like this happens? Is it the start of the end of Android One?
First the mean playing with the storage permissions in KK and LP that rendered most apps unusable, Now this pure swindle act!
I don't blame Infinix a second for this, It's all on Google that for some reason decided or deceived to decide nonsense acts that aims only to destroy the the Android popularity..!

That does it.
Google is PREVENTING android one vendors of using Marshmallow and that update is the proof..

More of it:the infinix forum OPs were saying they are working on the Marshmallow update. That released update proves they were prevented to release it, no Marshmallow update for you because Google has turned into another Microsoft.
Hi,
Just a quick update to tell you that my Micromax Canvas A1 AQ4502 has received an OTA this morning and is now running 6.0.1.
I'd like to buy the Infinix Hot2 too but this delay in updating you have is giving me second thoughts.

edit: Also note that I was running 6.0.0 for about a month till this morning, again an OTA.

Nonsense.
If google want to destroy android popularity they just stop updating android forever and not selling Nexus Devices anymore.

Its been said that XPERIA PLAY is going to be available on February 13 with android 2.3 (gingerbread) pre-installed. Will this mean that Nexus One will have the update to 2.3 before XPERIA PLAY releases? Am I making myself clear? Trying not to sound confusing.
who knows, just use the custom roms here. too much threads about when gb is coming out, just wait.
Google is completely silent about the issue, so if anybody tells you otherwise, they are just guessing.
Well google said that nexus phones will be the first to get 2.3 before any other phone besides nexus s. So if xperia play come out on feb. 3, wont that mean the nexus one will have the 2.3 update right before the release of the xperia play?

I'm not denying that the nexus one is a developer phone, but it is no longer Google's main focus developer phone... that would be the nexus s. Which is why I worded my post as I did. I wasn't trying to spout mis-information, the nexus one is no longer THE developer phone for Google.... the nexus s is and it was advertised that the nexus s will get all official updates first. The nexus one can fall anywhere after that... if at all... that's Google's call. Its the basic order of how things work. We are not guaranteed 2nd dibbs before other brands or phones.
I'm sorry for the false information. I misread phone blogs here and there sometimes.

The nexus one wasn't initially under the "Development Phones" section, only after they stopped selling it online, did they put it in there.
Same may or may not happen with the Nexus S, but it is a developer phone because it is easy to lock/unlock and also you can target the Nexus S when you build AOSP source code

Has anyone in the UK started to receive the OTA yet? If not I think we should keep each other in the loop on this thread?
Sent from my XT1092 using XDA Free mobile app
Not yet. I think it should come by the week after next week though. Of course though thats only a guess based on the other countries.
Why don't you just flash the reteu factory image, no need to unlock or even factory reset. Look at my older posts for what to flash (and what not...)
Unless it hasn't arrived in the next week or two, I'll be waiting for the GB version to arrive OTA.
With any luck it'll land before Christmas.
I have the retGB version and am still waiting. Can't really understand why the update hasn't come yet or even why there are retEU, retGB and retDE version when they all seem to be exactly the same. They support all the same bands etc so why not only have one version for EU?
Anyway I will wait another week if it still has not come by then I will convert my phone to a retEU. I live in Sweden so no real point for me to stick with retGB anyway, that I can see.
I think the different retail versions have subtly different default configuration settings depending on the region so they comply with local requirements. Nothing you can't change after the fact but it's probably part of the reason for the different retGB/ EU/ DE versions.
The fact it's not out in the UK yet is probably because the UK usually gets rolled out to last.

I wondered if in the UK and in Germany there are stronger consumer laws which would come in to play if there was a screw up with updates. Fixing the problems of broken or borked is not worth the hassle.
The nexus devices in the UK also seemed to be a bit slower to get the updates.
But that is just speculation. I would like to think that is the case and not just that we are left to last in the UK for no real reason!
My gf's nexus 5 got 5.0 weeks back when the rollout started on nexus devices (which I'm assuming was a worldwide rollout?)

What's the point of getting the update a week or two before the rest of them!! For my next purchase, I'm going to take Motorola's words on quick updates with a barrel of salt and look into other manufacturers.
So now there are rumours that the German OTA is rolling, I wonder how much longer the UK gets to wait??

Unless I have completely missunderstood what is being posted in the "XT1092 Nandroid/Firmware" thread.

When do we get Remix Os with Android 6 for the Mini?
The Remix Os for PC get it, it's free, but i think that is a disrespect whit us ho pay for the mini.
The apparent problem is that the CPU chip manufacturer doesn't provide drivers for Android 6.0, so Jide can't update.
That's what we get for risking it with a closed, official device instead of buying any compatible device and installing Remix OS as any PC.
This is very similar to what happened with the Microsoft Surface RT. I'm that lucky sometimes.
However, at the moment I'm not sure the update is that necessary. As far as I know, it's pretty much the same thing. And it's not like the OS style has radically changed or improved.
I'm happy for now

Sorry, but Jide responded to a direct question on this on Facebook that the new update would not be Android 6.0 and blamed Allwinner again as to not supporting 6.0.

Yeah this is all over Facebook, it's more reliable there as it is coming straight from Jason, there is no Marshmellow in the works right now, just a regular update
The SOC inside the mini needs updating in order to handle the changes in Marshmellow. Jide doesn't know or have the coding to the SOC so the only way to get it updated is if Allwinner sends it to them since it is their SOC.

Serious security flaws that could give attackers complete access to a phone's data have been found in software used on tens of millions of Android devices.
The bugs were uncovered by Checkpoint researchers looking at software running on chipsets made by US firm Qualcomm.
Qualcomm processors are found in about 900 million Android phones, the company said.
However, there is no evidence of the vulnerabilities currently being used in attacks by cyberthieves.
"I'm pretty sure you will see these vulnerabilities being used in the next three to four months," said Michael Shaulov, head of mobility product management at Checkpoint.
"It's always a race as to who finds the bug first, whether it's the good guys or the bad."
Affected devices included:
BlackBerry Priv and Dtek50
Blackphone 1 and Blackphone 2
Google Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P
HTC One, HTC M9 and HTC 10
LG G4, LG G5, and LG V10
New Moto X by Motorola
OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3
US versions of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung S7 Edge
Sony Xperia Z Ultra
Mr Shaulov said six months of work to reverse engineer Qualcomm's code revealed the problems.
The flaws were found in software that handles graphics and in code that controls communication between different processes running inside a phone.
Exploiting the bugs would allow an attacker to gradually be able to take more control over a device and gain access to its data.
Android sculptureImage copyrightAP
The flaws could be used to make booby-trapped apps that steadily gain access to a phone's data
Checkpoint handed information about the bugs and proof of concept code to Qualcomm earlier this year.
In response, Qualcomm is believed to have created patches for the bugs and started to use the fixed versions in its factories.
It has also distributed the patches to phone makers and operators. However, it is not clear how many of those companies have issued updates to customers' phones.
Checkpoint has created a free app called QuadRooter Scanner that can be used to check if a phone is vulnerable to any of the bugs, by looking to see if the patches for them have been downloaded and installed.
In addition, Mr Shaulov said Android owners should only download apps from the official Google Play store to avoid falling victim to malicious programs.
"People should call whoever sold them their phone, their operator or the manufacturer, and beg them for the patches," said Mr Shaulov.
Qualcomm has yet to respond to a request for comment.
Scary stuff - too bad Google can't just roll us out a patch for it

No worries, mate, Google has seen the issue and will release a security patch for it (2015-08-05), check here!
We can only hope OnePlus releases the security patch as soon as possible, or you can just hop on the custom ROM bandwagon since they often have the patch merged day one.
OnePlus has always been praised for having clean, near-stock software, and a big advantage of this is that updates are much easier to push out. Case in point: the OnePlus 3 has already received Android 8.0 Oreo via the closed beta group, with the newer 3T and 5 receiving it soon as well. Plus, OnePlus is hoping for an Oreo public beta by the end of September.

I agree that battery life is worse in Nougat. However, this is also the case with my Galaxy Tab S2 so it may be a general Nougat issue as opposed to a One Plus issue. Apart from this, I've always found OOS to be excellent and without bugs with great functionality. Samsung could learn a lot from One Plus.
Apart from the split screen mode, I'd go back to MM in a second if there were monthly security updates on both devices.
So you think that the next Open Beta for OOS or H2OS will come with Android 8 ?
