Android doesn't need any antivirus
ALL ANTIVIRUSES APPS ON THE PLAY STORE OR ON ANY OTHER PLACES ARE FAKE AND WILL SLOWLY THE DEVICE
If you dont believe me ask anyone here on xda and you'll have the same answer as mine
trust me you need nothing your phone is safe
What's about when my device is root??
Android has lot of malware and viruses. I recommend using Kaspersky AntiVirus.

its up to you how do you use your phone and what kind of apps you install but they are 100% clean especially if you get them from the playstore
Dont take my word though its just my way of view cuz ive never used an anti-virus apps on all of my android phones
If you download apps from Google Play, then you don't need any AV software. If you download from unknown pages, apps, etc. then I recommend to get.

What about malware that gets installed when you click on a MMS link? Yeah I know that you wouldn't do that, but what about other people?
I just wish that you could set no links in a MMS.
Clean MAster Security is great
The best antivirus for your phone is already pre-installed (if you run Stock Lollipop): Smart Manager

Android devices doesen't need anti virus apps a lot of people are thinking that they need a anti virus app but you needen't to install any of them and don't forget some anti virus apps are fake and they make your phone slower than before and some of them fill your storge but when u wan't to use one you can do it!
sorry beacause bad English
dears
Android is based on the linux kernel, so is not afected in the same way that windows is for malicious software (you can even tell there's no virus for linux based systems),as long as you know what are you installing on your device you are okay, since "virus" on android have to be installed by YOU manually to have acces to your devices.

Hey everyone. I am happy that we have a kernel with write protection removed. Thanks to CurbThePain and rbheromax. Please use this thread in making a list of bloatware that we can remove safely without bricking our phones. I have been freezing apps with TB and kind of observing how the phone runs. If anyone has tried this or is interested in making a list, please contribute. Thanks everyone.
All google apps expect for playstore or frame service or keyboard I remove the google apps they take space I remove play music movies calendar alarm clock launcher and replace it with nova
I have removed pretty much everything short of the Google framework, HTC Sense, and some of the HTC services (simply because I don't know what they do). I left the clock. I like the clock.

When I had a HTC sensation I removed HTC sense but takes out a lot but there was a lot of development on that phone fast this one kinda standing still so make a back up and remove let us know I don't have root yet but I will
I'm currently in the process of making a non-bloat deodexed, Senseless, rooted stock ROM. I'm literally deodexing all of the system apps as we speak. There's ~390MB of bloatware that can be safely removed (if you don't mind removing Sense/using a different launcher). I might plop out a list later on.

Bloatware Removal
I am somewhat new the this rooting trend lol. However I got my 510 rooted (boost mobile). I just want to remove bloatware so I can free up some space. However I am not sure how to go about exactly removing it.
I got the kernel for S-Off and some other nice tricks from here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...sprintboost-modded-desire-510-kernel-t2969979
I was reading and found out you can boot the kernel and remove the bloatware and then reboot using the stock kernel again. Which is really all I want. What do you use to remove/unbloat the 510?

Download an app called flashify and backup your current kernel do what you want and flash back. You're limited to 3 flashs per day so go ahead and support the dev if you feel it helped. As far as what is safe to take off, there are reports of things around here so just check around.

I successfully flashed rbheromax's v1 kernel, got the apps and such, and still have S-ON. If you're having trouble with persistent bloatware, that could be why. I'm looking for answers and will reply again if I can get it fixed.

Hi guys,
I foolishly removed the sprint_vowifi apk/odex not realizing it's something I do use on occasion (rarely make phone calls, but recently have been dialing into conference calls for work). Could someone make a backup with titanium and share? I would really appreciate the help.
simple question, is supersu NOT for deleting bloatware? do i have to do all that manually? i tought that was the wole point behind rooting and this useless supersu app.

titanium back up owns, its the way to go. best so far.
THIS IS FOR ANDROID 6.0+ ONLY!!!
This is mod I use on my LG V10.
Package was originally created as an add-on for Eliminater74's Rom.
I just ported it over as a flashable zip for my use but I figured I'd share.
Put zip on your external sd card and flash from twrp.
You will get a few "BlackBerry services not working " in the beginning but they will soon go away after some usage. These apps were on the BlackBerry Priv and are pretty useful especially the Hub. If there are some apps you don't like, just uninstall or freeze with titanium backup.
There is a launcher, contacts, calendar, bbhub, password keeper..... just a bunch of stuff.
Enjoy

Yes, installed the Blackberry Manager by Colbalt and it lets you install all the apps.
I prefer however downloading the folders from Colbalt (just check one of the previous posts on the thread) and install the apps I like (blackberry hub, calendar and keyboard) -the rest are just average (contacts on MM is way better than that of BB)

For the record, reinstalling trucallrr doesn't bring back the problem! Go figure
If u can't download on play store ....try enabling battery saver for a min and then disable it...it should work

Just fix your permissions on your sdcard, look into my post history, i wrote this several times over the board. The reason why play store cannot download is because the permissions on the sdcard are not set properly. This can happen, when you copy your precious files from your pc on the phone via twrp, as then root will be the group and owner in contrast to the media group.

I have an app which asks for permission to my contacts in order to start. (She is installed but won't work until ill give her the permission for my contacts).
Is there any way to make her think she has Permissions to my contacts without giving her?
Or to hide the real contacts so she won't be able to see them?
I looked around and saw Xprivacy but I have no root so is there any other option?
Thank You

That app is a big no-no here on xda, so i suggest you edit your post and remove it.
Can you provide more details, like your device and your android version? Xprivacy works up to marshmallow, if you're on Nougat you can try xposed extension protect my privacy, but i think it requires root too.
Since your have xposed installed, why don't you install root? I'm assuming you have a custom recovery to flash xposed so root should not be an issue.

Hey all!
The only reason I changed to Samsung M21 was my need to read notes on my phone I wrote in Samsung Notes on other device (Samsung Galaxy Tab S4). And I was very surprised and disappointed, when I reallized they don't allow to update Samsung Notes app on M21 to the latest version. Now it's 3.* on M21 and 4.* on Tab S4, so it even doesn't show me my notes. It is funny, but cheaper A20 has 4.* version. It returns with error if I try to install latest .apk of the app, Galaxy Store shows only 3.*.
Are here any solutions? Maybe, some custom ROM or kinda forced installing?
Probably because M21 has One UI Core. Sadly, there's nothing you can do about it if you're not rooted.
Thank you for the answer, Fredin_. It is no problem to root the phone, isn't it? My previous phones were rooted, so I had a little experience. Could you please tell more about solutions after I do it.

It shouldn't be a big deal, nothing is broken for me and banking apps work after hiding the magisk app, using magisk hide and passing safetynet, though I did come across one app that refused to work.
You need to disable signature verification somehow (the easiest way would be to use luckypatcher) and install the apk using Split APK Installer using the root method. If that doesn't work, you can try installing the app as a system app, most apps should work with either of these methods.
But if you are happy with android 10, then an even better alternative would be to use Totsuka OS. It's a OneUI port, so you can just install stuff from the galaxy store or playstore.

Nice
Ditch SNotes now or it will bite you even harder. Samsung is notorious for lack of legacy support with this apk, as I know all too well. Cut&pasted more of these notes than I care to remember to salvage them
I use ColorNote now. You can hyperlink directly from them so you can use it for saving bookmarks too. It will store backups on a SD card and you can export backups to the PC.
This app it's self doesn't need internet connection to function... in fact I always block it with Karma Firewall.
Save an installable copy of it if you decide to use it... never trust Playstore.
