S5 mini and windows 8.1 x64 - Galaxy S5 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My problem is that windows 8.1 don't recognize s5 mini. I tried:
kies 3, samsung usb drivers for mobile phones, connect the phone to all possible usb ports but nothing.
The same happens with s4 mini. Any advice?

As visible in the screenshot, my Galaxy SL 9003 just wont connect to Kies. The connecting animation just keeps going on and on no matter how long the phone is connected to the PC. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kies multiple times and my phone has never been rooted or anything.
Using Kies on Windows XP, Kies version 2.0.1.11053_99
Any help is appreciated.

So I tried it on a friend's Windows 7 computer and it worked there, Kies detects the phone there...
After updating to the latest version of Kies, even the windows 7 machine cant connect to my phone anymore.
Simple problem would be with your mobile phone just switch off and switch on.
or check you dont have any start up launchers.
Hope it helps.

[SOLVED] P7300 can't connect via USB, Windows 7 64

Used to work fine, last time I connected was doing an upgrade about 3 weeks ago to the UCLA modem and kernel and 2.3.6 ROM.
Today I tried to connect via USB to transfer a new book I'd downloaded, and Windows didn't recognize the device. Has the error USB Device not recognized.
It shows on the device in the status area that MTP is installed, and it says on the device that USB is connected.
Tried everything. I have the latest version of Kies, uninstalled and re-installed. Deleted the device, let windows re-install it. The tablet charges fine via the same cable. I've tried different USB ports.
My Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket connects on the same computer, seen by Kies, can transfer USB. Works on the same USB port!
And of course I have USB debugging turned on.
Any thoughts. I am certain it was due to the change of ROM.
Bump........
Hi Harry_fine,
Try it :
- Disable usb debug mode
- Lock the screen <-- very important step.If you don't do this, kies doesn't recognize the Tab*
- Connect Tab via USB to Win7 64Bit
- Start Kies
To get kies to recognize the tab, you need to have the original touchwiz launcher set as the default launcher
I seen this on other post. May be it can help you.
Good luck.

Are you sure you are in correct forum? I have never heard about UCLA modem or 2.3.6 ROM for GT8.9
Latest modem we have is KJ6 and Android version should be 3.2
Sorry, I was confusing this with my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.
This is 2.6.36.3 kernel, Android 3.2, which I think is the latest official stock for the Tab. I think I used P7300XWKL4_P7300ATOKI1_P7300XXKJ6_HOME.tar.md5 for the upgrade.
Didn't work, same problem. Anyone else?
Tried a solution I found online, found some very long file extensions on the SDCARD, removed them, rebooted phone, and now no problem connected as a drive using MTP, and installing driver.
so what's the solution??

[Q] win7 Cannot detected galaxy note n7000 in any form

my samsung galaxy note n7000 is not getting detected on win7 laptop. Neither it shows MPT/PTP option nor detects through USB mass storage device. Its running samsung build ICS 4.0.4 (not custom ROM).
Ironically, the same gets connected with MTP/PTP and with Mass Storage device on Win7 system in office. Earlier it used to work with win7 laptop but not anymore.
I dont want to factory reset my phone, so any other solution would be appreciated.
Thanks

[Q] P1000 won't connect to laptop since root with CyanogenMod 10.1

Hey guys,
I'm another noob here so I apologise in advance if I do anything wrong.
Yesterday I rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 to JB 4.2.2 via CyanogenMod 10.1. Everything seemed to work fine until today I've realised that I cannot connect my tab to my laptop via USB. The computer will not register it at all. When I plug in the USB the tablet lights up but that is all.
Things I have tried so far:
Turning on USB debugging
Setting the USB computer connection as "Media Device MTP" on my tab
Setting the USB computer connection as "Mass Storage" on my tab
Checking all drivers are up to date
Using all possible USB ports on my laptop
It may be work noting that the tab will connect to Odin in download mode. (When I did this it installed some new drivers, I was hoping this would fix the issue but it didn't).
Really appreciate any advise that you can provide.
Kind Regards,
Sheparo.

[I9001][Q][Download mode not working in Windows 8.1]

With windows 8.1 when plugged the phone into the computer under download mode, the computer unable to recognize the device and shows it as USB not recognized.
Looking at the device manager, there is an unknown USB device (device failed enumeration).
Download mode is working on windows 7 and 8 but not 8.1. However, It seems that only our i9001 is having this problem as I have tested with S3 i9300, SL i9003, Note n7000 with the same USB cable and same port but they are all working well except i9001.
Any solution for this? I've tried using VMware to make the download mode run in virtual machine running windows 8 but no luck.

Same here, Download Mode isn't working, the driver isn't recognizing the device when in download mode.
My problem is that I tried to upgrade CWM with the flashable zip and now it will not go into recovery mode either. So my solution would have been to reflash CWM with ODIN, but that's not working anymore, so... if anyone has any solution it would be greatly appreciated!
