Screen lock lag - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any fix for non rooted users for the screen lock wake-up lag,

I'm non rooted but I don't have this issue. Do you happen to have power saving mode on? Also go to developer option...you can set the three animation options to 0.5x ...it help for smooth and fast experience.

Yet another thread about this... Cant you guys use the search button?????????????????????

Unlock lag problem solved?

Hi ppl !
Prabobly i have solved problem with unlock lag. Fix is simple and you dont have flash anything. Just setup nexus wallpaper for me it worked like a charm.

It's not a solution.
Setting up a live wallpaper will make your processor run quicker (so it will drain your battery much quicker), the same way the screen unlocks instantly when music is playing.
so there is no solution fot this "problem" yet???
No, there is no solutions as this cannot be thought as a problem. When the screen shuts down, it takes a few seconds for the phone to fall in a deep sleep. This is a built-in feature which helps to save battery when screen is off.
Friends of me just bought this phone and also had this lag problem. So i rooted their galaxys and changed the governor with set cpu from ondemand to performance. Unlock lag reduced from 4 seconds to 1 second, and also after unlock the phone is instantly fast. I know performance governor leads to more power consumption, but we think a phone with 1,4gHz shouldn't be that slow.
I changed lock screen to golocker and lag is now significantly lower. I also use golauncher so it may have affection to golockers' performance. No issues for double locking or battery drain.
Cheers
The solution is simple, turn off your power save mode
doesn't help here....
And again, it's been established already that turning power save off doesn't help.
Placebo effect at most.

Since i use go-locker, in have noticably less lags.
Tapatalked from my Samsung Galaxy S Plus
Strangely enough, Golocker does speed it up a little, it went from 3 to 2 seconds.
But it still lags.
It lower your processer when your phone is idle make it less battery consuming. Unless you root your phone and use app to stop the deep sleep mode and keep phone speed always at 1.4. Otherwise nothing can do I think. Cause the phone need boot up the speed everytime you unlock making it [email protected]@At least you know it help you save.battery

I changed the lowest clocks from 123mhz to 246mhz. Seems more responsive. Used CPU Master (free).

The standard-setting for the minimum clock is at 244mhz. So this probably wont help anyone.
Also my lag is gone by using Go Launcher and Go Lockscreen!!!
Great (Best i think) Launcher anyway

Is the same for me, with go launcher and locker, the lag is gone
No difference ... ='(
Not going against the waking from deep sleep theory, i also always thought this was how it worked.
What puzzles me, however, is how the iphone doesn't seem to suffer from this for some reason and still performs as fast with perfectly acceptable battery time.
But i got it better by changing my lockscreen, that actually helps. Phone needs to load up the lockscreen when you wake it up so a simpler lockscreen will also help with better results by loading faster. You'll notice the screen starts responding faster. I found the most common one, the sliding tab the fastest while the ring one, to be a bit slower. I also found the go lockscreen to be faster than the "ring" one but not as fast as the basic sliding tab.
Btw im using a I9000 with CM7 stable but the "problem" still applies.
Turning off the power save option did help for me.

[Q] Anyone having problems with Holics ROM crashing? and AOSP locksreen question

So I just installed the Holics Rom yesterday and I love it! The only problem seems to be that it crashes very often. I've had to battery-pull it probably 8-10 times in the past 24 hours. It seems to happen most often when I lock the screen and then try to open it up quickly. Any one else run into this problem? Or could this be a problem with the AOSP locksreen?
Also, side question about the AOSP ICS lockscreen, is it customizable with widgets and shortcuts? It is beautiful, but I may switch back if I can't add shortcuts or get my music to pop up while locked.

Yes, I've been getting this issue on Holics pretty often during screen wake-up. I'm running 1.2 but had the same issue on 1.0 and 1.1. It will occasionally freeze when waking up with the power button. It also freezes when the screen attempts to turn back on after a call. It's very frustrating, bucause it's a very good rom, but this issue is driving me crazy.
I may have also had this issue on my stock rom with faux123 kernel. Maybe the Faux123 code is to blame. My lock screen is the ring by the way, so I don't think it's the AOSP lockscreen.
The phone never freezes randomly, it's always when the screen is waking up / trying to wake up. I have a feeling it may have to do with the single core 192 UC from the faux rom, unless the holics rom did away with that.

Do you know if devs are aware of this problem or working on it at all?
That's the only reason why I switched to DeSensed. It got annoying after a while.
I have been using 1.2 since it came out, and I have not experienced any random reboots or issues. I am using his kernel and am S-ON.

I'm s-on and I've flashed with wcx recovery. Ive tried different methods of flashing the boot.img. Flashing it before and flashing the sd card copy afterward. I have also tried flashing either before or after. I did not select any UV. I chose the nonsense version of the install and am running apex launcher pro. I selected vram during install and disabled s2w. My CPU range is 384-1512 on setCPU, I am not running any profiles. I do use juicedefender ultimate and avast full time. I also have adaway installed. I can post a list of my other installed apps too if that would be relevant. Does any of this raise a red flag? Would the sense version of the Rom be more stable? Can anyone recommend another kernel if you believe that may be an issue? Any help would be appreciated as I do not have enough posts to state this problem in the dev forum.

[Q] How is the lock screen fixing my slowdown?

Hello,
I have a GT-N7000 running RocketRom V12 ICS and Hydracore V5.34.
Sometimes I notice that my launcher and apps start to get a bit choppy. I haven't found the exact recipe yet to create the issue, but I'll keep working on it. Once I'm in this state I tried closing all of the recent apps (using the ICS swiping) as well as Task Manager and even a task killer (fast reboot). Nothing changed, still same choppy. But here's the odd part, I press the power button to lock the phone, then immediately press it again and unloc, then the problem is gone. I'm back to smooth awesomeness.
I figure the factthat the lockscreen fixes the issue should somehow indicate what the problem might be, but I can't figure it out. Does anyone know what happens when the phone gets locked? Are there some kind of caches that are flushed, agents that are killed, or something...?
Any thoughts would be appreciated,
thanks,
Gary

I haven't really figured this out, but I switched from ondemand to lagfree and everything has been perfect.
thanks anyway folks,

[Q] Slow Screen Wakeup on Nameless ROM

Hi Guys,
After installing Nameless ROM nightly updates, I experience slow wake up screen problem.
Sometimes it takes good 3-4 seconds after pressing power button to wake the phone up and after it wakes up, suddenly goes to sleep mode. And if I now press power button, it wakes up in 1-2 seconds. Quicker than before, but still not the quickest.
Also, when phone rings most of the time it takes 5-6 seconds for screen to wake up and sometimes by the time you try answering/rejecting call, call has been missed.
I am currently on nameless-4.4.2-20140308-p880-NIGHTLY update.
Has anybody on LG Optimus 4X HD experienced this issue? Going through other forums, I also tried removing SD card and checking if this improves wake up time, but no joy.
Please shed some lights.
Thanks.
Same problems here. Never misses a call because of it though. I believe a way to decrease the time to wake up is to increase the CPU screen off values. This can be done by changing kernels and using trickster and all that, but I'd like to be able to do it from within the ROM. I asked the developer (@Evisceration) if he could add CPU screen off settings to the device control section. He said he liked the idea, so hopefully we'll see the function somewhere in the near future!

Hardly any bugs at all for me. If you encounter bugs on a ROM, it will be greatly appreciated if you report them to our devs so they can try to fix things!
This particular 'bug' (not really a bug though) is just due to a relatively low Max CPU Screen Off Freq and can be easily avoided by using another kernel or upping the freq if the current kernel supports it.

Question Ui moving in slow motion

Hi guys, the issue occurred out of nowhere, just out of a sudden all ui elements started moving really slowly, and I don't mean laggy or stuttery , it's as if every ui animation is taking 10x time of execution. I've tried restarting the phone a couple of times and the issue stays the same. I've just finished setting up the phone and I really don't want to do a factory reset. So if anyone has a solution, I would really appreciate it .
The phone is updated to the latest OOS version. Not rooted or unlocked bootloader. Also tried force stopping the SystemUI app, no luck.
Issue is resolved!
If anyone has the same problem, I decided to check the animation speed in the developer options, and everything was turned up to 10x. strange cause apparently oxygenOS, just decided it would do that out of nowhere!? Also when you switch the animation speed you have to restart the apps also, cause some of them were still behaving slowly before restart.
