I noticed that my note 5 is not fast charging while the screen is on
After doing some searches I realized that it's an option included by Samsung software
Is there any way to disable it and always have fast charging even while using the phone ?
That would be great

Yes it will still show Fast charging but the incoming current will be limited to somehow around 1000 mah (check it using Ampere or galaxy charging current)
I read it on official samsung website ( Check the screenshot )
There is no option to turn fast charging on or off. That option was only found on the Note 4.

hi,
interesting, what Samsung claims.
What I found in real life usage is, if i have fast charging enabled (showing in notification) and my data /wifi is on and i keep on using my device , it still " fast" charges (ok, with how much mah, i dont know) to 100% in the +- time as stated in notification.
If i use my original Note5 usb cable with fast charging adapter it states
that it is now "cable charging" and actually slowly loses battery %. while i am using the phone.
My current setup is.....
i am using my old long Usb Note 4 cable with Note5 fast charging adapter.
Further, yes it is logic that if device is in sleep mode, it will charge faster...! but while I'm using it with fast charging "enabled /activated " (my opinion) it's also fast charging.!
The only difference is in the mah..? but charging faster than cable charging..... yes.!
Bottom line...
my logic says it's not good to always fast charge, as it can have a negative impact on battery in long run.
I alternate between fast and cable charging.
Anyway, for each their own way!
good luck
The max screen ON charging limit of 1400 mAh is set by the kernel. You can find this in source. This is not opinion, but fact.
I have battery charging controls (by AndreiLux) implemented in my SkyHigh kernel to control screen OFF rates.

Im looking for a program I saw here the other day. Its a fast USB charge for while charging on the computer. It also shows 1% incriments for the battery. I tried searching but couldnt find it. I am on vacation and forgot my charger. I only have a usb cable for my pc.
Thanks
You're referring to nuePower / nueBattery. You can download the cab file here. Enjoy!
Looks like this is only for the CDMA version and not the GSM. Is this correct?
How bad is that going to be for the Battery though?
Nice App.
Hi,
With a Touch Pro GSM, which is the more adapted ?
i haven't charge & Discharge display on my Raph with nuePowerCPL... why ?
Which registrery key change the current charge via USB ? (I use a solar charger for trekking and i need the best capacity of load current when the sunshine !)
Thanks !
Bringing this back... I would love fast charge on my Tilt2 (GSM).
I installed some old version of NueBattery2 and I got the fast charge enabled (it was drawning 800~900mAh from my USB port) but I lost the 1% battery indicator, it rounded up to 10% so I reinstalled a GSM battery driver and the 1% indicator was restored but I lost the fast charge, it's only taking 400~450mAh now
Is there anything I can do?
Looks like it is device specific at the moment...
Description
nuePower consists of nuePowerCPL, and a modified power driver (nueBattery) that allows you to view increasing battery power in 1% increments. The power driver is currently available for the Titan and Vogue (i.e. Sprint Mogul, Touch)

As I've said before, I got the fast charge working with nueBattery2 but the battery meter got rounded up to 10%... And when I reinstalled the driver battery, I lost the fast charge but got the accurate battery meter back. So it's possible to be done.

I can't find fast charging on/off on my N5 sm-n9208.
accessories features setting also lost on setting .
user manual guide include accessories features but my N5 lost
I think there is no option for enabling/disabling fast charging in Note5. You are forced to use fast charging.

hi ,
yes , i agree with @TAEL post above
i also found no option to "change " fast charging ...but ........
I had a experience where my fast charging just stopped "?"
I took/swopped my cable/ power cord with my old Note4 cable and fast charging was back again ! Also you can change charger plugs around ( eg Adaptive fast charging and a plain Samsung charger plug )
I thought about issue and came to a conclusion ,that surely consistent fast charging, cannot be good for battery and may shorten battery life ???? I now alternate with my 2 x Samsung cables/plugs .If i want fast charging i use my Note 4 cable/plugs (working ), vice versa.
If i want normal charging i use the other cable /plug .
Yes, i know these are a work around,
but surely, it's better than having no option in Note 5 battery settings ,regarding fast charging ??
good luck
As said, N5 no longer has the option to disable fast charging (cable). It does however have the option to disable fast charging for wireless charging. The option will appear once you use a fast wireless charger.
after I test with wireless fast changer I reply
thz
If you don't want to use Fast Charging.... don't use a Fast Charger.... simple. There's no option to disable it, but if you're not using a fast charger, then it won't fast charge.
Why My phone takes too long to charge.
You can find the option to fast/normal charge in the battery section.
For example today it took over three hours to charge from 57% to 100%.Phone was being charged whilst turned off.
Noticed the other day when recharging both the recharger & the back of the Note got pretty warm whilst recharging & phone turned off.
Could this be caused by an app, say something like anti-virus, I run Avast?
Sorry to bump this but it's still an ongoing issue.
Also bump, I have this problem as well. I haven't damaged/dropped the phone or exposed to water. I have tried both mine and my wife's official samsung faster chargers and my anker multiport fast charger. They all charge slowly. Any information would be helpful.

hi ,
i would suggest you try and pinpoint cause of issues eg , to phone ,usb cable ,charger etc .?
Then decide what action to take .?
I would suggest you start by to check charging ,discharging etc. of your devices ?
i am currently using these two apps to check my cables/charger charging ...
Ampere and Galaxy Charging Current ..............................(Plus, there are plenty other similar apps /options Just check for free versions , as i have the paid ones )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.ampere&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abmantis.galaxychargingcurrent
To give you an example why i suggest this ,
is that just yesterday i checked , all my usb /chargers .
I found that the one usb cable ,one family member was using .
He was complaining about slow /forever charging ,
The usb cable was only charging at 300mA average
I changed it with another cable ,that was charging 1200mA ...+ ( average )
i also made sure (in past) changing usb cables and chargers around and check current .
If this does not work ,surely it points towards your device and not an accessory of device ?
Only option then is to take to service center ?
Just remember ,
you don't have to "damage" your accessories /device ?
to experience issues, like i described above in my post .
good luck
post note
Nearly forgot .
Remember there a diffs between cable charging and fast charging.
Firstly ,fast charging has to be enabled, in your Device/ Smart manager ,Battery ,at bottom Fast cable charging.
Secondly ,
If your device is fast charging or cable charging,
it will tell you this in your drop down
Notifications list eg . fast charging /cable charging .
I have found that a lot of Usb cables /chargers "don't " fast charge. !!
One moment it might say in Notification "fast charging " then a few days later that same cable/charger , will suddenly stop fast charging .!!
I also don't recommend ,always fast charging .
I am sure it will eventually damage/shorten , your lifespan of battery .

Willcor summed it up nicely. It's also worth mentioning that in the past I have had similar experiences, albeit as a result of firmware (stock) that I flashed via Odin. On some it would take forever to charge to I flashed something else etc. If you've had any updates recently then it may be related, but it also could be your cables. I remember reading somewhere that people had faulty fast chargers (or ones that would develop faults overtime) as well as some of samsungs cables (which are also known for bad "batches").
Regards.
Hi
I just got a Note 5 and a fast Samsung fast wireless charger stand. Everything looks good except for the fact that the phone gets quite warm after 100% (when the light turns green). The highest temperature it has hit is 43 C. Normally it would hover around 41-42 C. This means that the phone battery would be subjected to such heat around 4 hours every night. Should I worry about this? I live in Singapore.
Thank you.
please share info about your phone :
stock or custom rom (which?)
did u install battery app??
do u have this problem when connect usb cable directly to your phone (fast charge )?
if in your note 5 put on case or other things put it off and test
note 5 will be warm in fast charge until 90 % (not 100% - it's problem)
i suggest if it possible work turn off fast charge when put your phone in charge in night
or reset your phone and test again.

Stock ROM. Marshmallow 6.0.1.
No battery app. Fast charge via cable works awesomely.
It still gets warm even without the case. I tried resetting my phone, and it's ok. It's the same for normal wireless charging.
So 42 degree Celsius is bad?
Anyway with my new case I need to enable daydream to make sure that the wireless charging doesn't stop after the screen turns off. I set my daydream picture as a solid plain black picture. So by right this shouldn't cause any damage to the screen right? Only the screen touch sensors are working overnight.
My stock 64 gb N920T on MM routinely gets to ~37.5 C (99.5 F) while using the OEM charger with fast charging turned off. It's gotten as high as 39.5 C (103.1 F), which was the first time I took readings using the GSAM Battery Monitor Pro app.
I wouldn't be surprised if the wireless fast charger pushes the temps past 43 C (109.4 F).
I'm facing issue with my Rog 2, my phone is not charging fast
1. I'm using 18w charger come with the phone to charge
2. I have used Xiaomi 2i power bank with 18w output to charge my phone (still not working)
3. I restart the phone on charging it goes down 36% to 29%
4. On charging when i restart the phone it goes 8% to 13%
5. I'm facing this problem from the yesterday
6. Double plus sign on battery icon as well as fast charging text on home screen is also not showing while charging
What is the issue please help anyone
Though I may be wrong, I think you need the 30W charger for that. 6,000mAh battery is quite a handful and 18W may not juice it up as fast as you want.

Well, there is obviously a problem.
There are battery apps that can monitor incoming charge though not as effective as the hardware for monitoring charge but it'll give you a fair idea if you check it out.
I think you should reach out to Asus for solutions if possible, a replacement unit.
All the best.
Bro i have another serious problem. Accidentally my phone got dropped and the volume rockers get damaged. And asus won't cover it on warrenty

Wow! That's too low.
As you can see from my attached screenshots on a Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
Let's get someone with a properly charging phone to give us her/his values so we can see the charge levels of a proper 18W or 30W charger

Are you Ok Now?
I am facing this problem. This is rom problem?
FYI you can check the arrows in the battery icon when charging. 2 arrows means full speed - I guess -
Don't know if that's helps, I heard once that if charging percentage jumps in blink of an eye, then it's probably its need to collaborate battery mah with phone and it's done by dischargng your device by using it tell the phone goes to 0 and shut down it selfs , then charge it to 100% fully ..
Another app to see how fast your device being charged it's : accubattery , this is so far best option , but this app for analysis not for always use because it's consume battery like all other app
