Which rom if I just need GSM? - Verizon LG G2

I am going to give my beloved G2 to a relative who will run it on GSM networks only, since the VS980 is GSM unlocked it should be no problem.
I have been using this phone for 2 years with no problems and running stock or xdabbeb, currently happens to be on MicroMod - all of these are stock Lollilop roms. I'd be ok with trying AOSP or CM but the stability doesn't seem to be there as well as the camera is not as good.
I am considering either xdabbeb 3.1.2 or CloudyG3 3.3 and would like opinions - both of these have very good reviews, I will use xdabbeb's XCam with both of course.

While TouchWiz is driving me absolutely insane, I want the options of TDD-LTE and SMR LTE when it comes to my area. I haven't heard of any devs working on ROMs for the device. Maybe reach out to the maintainer to see if they will build for the device to support Triband.
I have Spark, and eCSFB has never worked right once when running a non-TouchWiz ROM on the L720T.
Makes my phone a nice data modem, but a paperweight when it comes time to make a phone call or send a SMS.
Losing Wi-fi calling / texting also sucks.
The triband functionality is built into the modem.. not the rom.. I was worried of the same thing. Tested and proven to get spark speeds on AOSP.
Does this work on nc6?
I have been noticing that people have been leaving out details that are important.
Which recovery and rom do i need for nc6 4.4.2.... You know, the wifi calling update?

I have had spark speeds on several AOSP roms. To my knowledge and as far as all my testing has proved.. the spark and or triband functionality of our phone WORKS on ANYTHING. From TW roms to CM and AOSP. All have worked time and time again.

Its my general understanding that all tri-band does is give you 2 extra frequencies... That being said... I have no problems running CM11 on L720T I can get sms messages and make phone calls I do not have any issues with anything else wifi or bluetooth other then crashing when using IR functions. My data is nice and fast....
I would like to start developing a rom for L720T to take advantage of spark tri-band its just hard at the moment with the limited user base... More people seem to develop more for the variants of S4 but not the T sniff sniff.....
If there are other developers with this phone that wants to put the brain power together I am down to make it happen...

:fingers-crossed:
All asop roms work on triband. Just not tw roms. But noone wants tw or u wouldnt be on xda in 1st place lol
How are you able to test if tri-band is working while using a ROM?

The data connection is established at the modem level, standard Android APIs allow the ROM and Kernel to communicate with the Modem for all data transfers. As long as the modem can communicate with a cell site that supports B26 or B41 LTE or B10 CDMA 1xA, the ROM doesn't care. It just uses the transport.
make a change
Is there a way 2 make the sprint s4 work on a different provider.

As far as I've seen, anything that will work on the 720 will also work on the 720T.
Here's where you want to look for custom ROMs: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-sprint/development

Hmm, sorry if I'm late, but if you're looking for a blazing fast rom for the l720 (also for l720t) go for the ported Google Play Edition rom on XDA. I believe it has optimizations for the S4 as well.

Help stablizing my Razr M

Hi,
I have 2 year old Razr-M on Verizon. It's been a faithful phone for a long time.
Ages ago, I rooted the phone, installed Clockwork, and Cyanogen. Not thrilled with Cyanogen's performance, I switched to OSE back in November.
At some point in my experimenting, I flashed a new radio to the phone, but don't remember which.
The phone has been reasonably stable, but still hangs/crashes once or twice a week.
Now, I'd like to clean things up.
Get the best radio that allows for international bands, GSM and, GPS
Install a STABLE ROM
Update/Install latest most stable bootloader
With so many packages and options here, I don't really know where to start. (OSE, Pacman, ???)
Can anyone suggest a clear, stable setup for both radio and ROM?
(Note: I travel internationally *A Lot*, so need to make sure all the different bands stay enabled.)
Thanks!!
Should add that I don't care about pretty graphics or extra features. Just want solid, stable, functional.
Well the most stable is going to be stock/stock based roms. Maybe try out rage m on the jb bootloader or root stock kk and start removing bloat
Tapatalk'n it from my XT907 (MoKee 4.4.4) on Page Plus Cellular.
Cool,
And what about the radio? Any suggestions?
I don't think there's much options for radio. Ics/jb radios work on JB bootloader roms kk bootloader roms are limited to only the kk radio

Some questions about Moto X

I have some questions about flashing this phone(XT1092) :
1º Are all roms compatible with all variants (specially XT1092)?
2º What are the best roms ( I mean less bugs, highest perfomance, longest battery life, all sensors working) ?
Thanks in advance (Sorry if english is bad :silly: )
1) Supposedly they should work on most models except for the xt1096 and any other CDMA model. The xt1092 is gsm, so everything should theoretically work.
2) Stock rom, I don't feel the need or desire to flash another rom because the stock rom is already perfect. And with greenify and xposed you can do anything you want with the stock rom, so I don't see any benefit in moving to another rom.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
I would have stuck with just stock and root, but my device is only 16gb and the stock roms takes up a lot of space which is why I flash Cyanogen. You shouldn't use use Cyanogen nightlies as a daily driver since it will have issues, but currently it have everything working, like the wave, flashlight and camera gesture. I would wait until the next Snapshot/Milestone/Release Candidate version of Cyanogen for this device. Otherwise, just stick with stock and root it.
The Cyanogen rom works with both GSM and CDMA version.

what is a good STABLE setup

OK i just got a g2 as a backup phone because I have my moto x to my daugheter
my "main phone" is a G3 that i am running CM13 upon.
i actually like the g2 size but i think i will miss the sd card.
so i got it last week its a vs9803AA firmware. android 5.02 is this the latest version
rooted it, autorec, upgrade to twrp 3 and xposed.
froze a bunch of stuff with tibu.
is there a good list of things I can freeze. i don't want to run a custom rom xposed meets most of my needs. i just want a rock solid backup, so i can mess up my other phone and just swap the sim.
Wait so what are you asking? What are you using the G2 for exactly?
All I can say is I've been running the CM13 nightlies and it's retarded how stable they are. I have literally had almost 0 problems. If you're looking for stability, they're right up there.
It's a backup. It will sit on my desk until I screw up my g3 with a custom ROM, of crack the screen etc. It will go in my briefcase when I travel just in case or if I am overseas and use a foreign sim card.
So I'm am to thinking that NE of xdebbs Roms or just debloated.
Is there a good debloat script. Or stock rom
Cm13 is damn stable on the g3 so u might do that.
Cm13 is dam stable

You are basically complaining for some reason you were not aware you can't get Verizon VoLTE on any non-stock based ROM with this phone. If you searched the ROM thread you would have known that.
Very well known that Verizon VoLTE only works on stock firmware or stock firmware-based ROM. So, far for the only ROM is CF's debloated, tweaked stock-based Marshmallow ROM. (Somewhere in there is the secret handshake and even he doesn't know what it is.)
ZTE recently got Verizon VoLTE to work on a non-Verizon phone (the ZTE Axon 7) and that VoLTE carries over to LOS/CM based ROMs -- but no devs have yet figured out what ZTE did to get it, nor what LOS/CM has that allows it on THAT phone. Marshmallow didn't have it, but their Nougat does.
First off, wasn't complaining, obviously I'm not nearly as smart as you.. there's a lot of talk on the forums for flashing volte, and thought I might have overlooked something. Or didn't have something set right... And I know when the original Droid, original firmware was installed, if you didn't have HD calling on you would loose data.... Thanks so much for your help.....

Not that I'm smart, It's just something we all know. And seriously the information is EVERYWHERE in this forum. Almost every ROM thread has talked about it. Search is your friend in a forum over 2 years old, like this one.
Go read this. It's the most recent complete ROM list for our phones, and it's in the Development section of THIS forum.

What would you say is the most stable rom out there right now? Besides stock obviously.
I'm looking to get Google Assistant via Xposed. Everything was great on Nexus Experience, however I ran into issues getting the Google Now Voice prompt to work outside the Google Now App. =/

If you want Nougat, any of these three ROMS have very high reviews. You can go to those threads and ask questions, and see other Droid Turbo owners.
#2 and #3 are maintained by Droid Turbo owners who use Verizon, if that makes a difference to you. But all three are excellent and many Droid Turbo owners are using all three.
[ROM][All Quark][7.x] Resurrection Remix
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL]AOKP 7.x For All Quark
[ROM][Quarks][LOS/CM 14.1 Unofficial][7.1.x][2016-12-30] (hybrid of CM14 and Resurrection Remix)
However, if you need Verizon VoLTE, then you should go with a debloated, tweaked Marshmallow ROM based on stock Motorola Verizon firmware. See below. It's not Nougat, but right now only stock Verizon firmware or a ROM based on stock Verizon firmware can get Verizon VoLTE on this phone -- until a dev discovers the secret handshake. (ZTE has discovered the secret handshake for Verizon VoLTE. Now a dev just needs to figure out what they did.)
_________
@computerfreek274 has now released a Marshmallow ROM for the Droid Turbo XT1254 based on the Verizon's belated Marshmallow firmware. He has debloated it, tweaked it. It has Verizon voicemail app, Verizon VoLTE (only works on Verizon), Verizon Wi-Fi calling (only works on Verizon), some volume boost, and battery saving tweaks.

@bhb27 tried to make VoLTE work, and got tired of messing with it as he lives in Brazil, doesn't use Verizon and doesn't have a Droid Turbo XT1254. He owns another Quark, the same one I have, the XT1225. He has said some other dev who uses Verizon and has a Droid Turbo needs to figure it out.
As I said above, ZTE has figured it out with the ZTE Axon 7 (it's not even a Verizon phone!) -- but I guess no one has yet taken the time to compare the differences between their Marshmallow and Nougat builds to see what they did.
There was even a thread here in this forum recently about getting VoLTE on custom ROMS, which has gone nowhere:
VoLTE and Advanced Calling on Droid Turbo Custom Roms

I have been watching, waiting, and hoping that someone would figure out and post about being able to use VoLTE or Advanced calling on any of the custom roms (except Computerfreeks), and i am seeing the same scattered information through the forums. I definitely do not have the skills to figure this out, but hopefully some of the skilled developers in this community can post here and work together to figure this out.
I love using a custom rom, and this device is amazing. But the one thing I miss since using @bhb27 custom Resurrection Remix Rom is VoLTE and Advanced Calling.

In that thread, I posted all the detailed info I know about the ZTE breakthrough, but that's basically it.
