Sometimes my phone has not responded when i touch back button, home button is normal. If i turned off and turned on screen its function normally. Please show me how to fix it.

When I shut down my phone, the screen will go black and it will vibrate like normal. Last I checked the vibrate was to confirm that it was completely shut off. Instead, the four touch sensitive buttons will light up and stay lit until I turn the phone back on or, of course, pull the battery. This is also keeping me from entering download mode. A few days ago the phone was shutting down correctly and I have been able to enter download mode, but now the problem is going on again. I'm on official 2.2 Froyo updated through kies mini. My phone is rooted, but this problem occurred before I rooted.

Sounds like a warranty replacement.
I've had it for over a year. I wonder why it's just now doing this.

I think I have come to a conclusion on why it doesn't seem to shut down completely and would need someone with a captivate that has all fully functional buttons. I believe that since my power button sticks, when the phone vibrates to confirm a shutdown, the capacitive touch button lights will not shut off until the power button is released. So if someone wouldn't mind shutting their phone off while holding the power button and tell me if you can make the lights come on after the vibrate while holding power button? Thanks in advance.

Hello. I have a small problem with power button. Sometimes is jamned and is really hard to lock/unlock the screen. Can anyone pls help me how to solve thsi problem?

Take it to a repair shop. Or attempt them yourself. Disassemble and put thin cardboard between the power button and the actual onboard power

Sorry for pushing this old thread but my xt894 power button stopped working. The power button had problems for months: I had to press the power button dozens of times to get the phone botting (after booting the power button worked fine to wake up the phone).
I already diassembled the case but even the "blank" power button does not work anymore. Any ideas or experience with this problem here?
My phone started to act really strange today. When i press power/lock button it wont lock it turns off phone immediately. Sometime it just gives powers screen (wher you can turn off,restart or go in airplane mode). Butt its really strange. I can turn off my phone only if i unplug battery.
So the problem is that when i press power/lock button it will restart or wont happend anything.
Im long on this ROM and its not problem with it. I tryed go on stock ROM and same thing happends.
Anyone have some suggestion ?

Try 2 hold 8 seconds on power button, if this phone will reboot - it's software problem. Just flash a new firmware LT6 for ur phone.
If it does not work, try 2 disassemble ur phone, and watch area nearly power button. If it's damaged go 2 service.
My opinion plastic nearly power button area is damaged, or this is firmware trouble in UI.

You just chang your hard drive
Note: it work on gt-n7000 company. If you chang it incorrect your phone can't power on or reboot.
Does anyone else have issues on the z1 where the screen goes black during calls?
Pressing power doesn't always bring it on, which has caused me to leave voicemails unintentionally.
Wondered if it's all or a fault on mine.

Never has that issue, try doing a factory reset

The screen goes off to save battery during the calls... It should turn back on and it does for me when pressing the power button.
It happens to me too but if i press the power botton the screen turns on.
I want the screen to stay turned on but no matter what i do the display turns off in calls.
My display is set to turn off after 10 minutes but the phone turns off in calls in 1 minute.
What can i do to keep the display on?
It's annoying to have to press the power button to end a call or to navigate the contacts in a call.

I also find that these buttons occasionally work again, but only for a few minutes then they go back to having no response. Also sometimes when I hit the home button Google app pops up, even tho I have Google Now on Tap disabled.
