Home button and power button both became unresponsive - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

For the second time in a few months, my home button and power button both became unresponsive. This happened previously for about 2 days and put of no where both starting working as normal. Has anyone else ever experienced this and no a solution to the problem? It seems to be a software problem, and this always seems to occur following an OTA update, which AT&T pushed one the other day.

I also find that these buttons occasionally work again, but only for a few minutes then they go back to having no response. Also sometimes when I hit the home button Google app pops up, even tho I have Google Now on Tap disabled.

Volume down

While using "carcast" today my volume went down as if I was holding the volume button. It happened three times. The first time I was looking at tweetdeck, and I watched the media volume rapidly go down. After I turned my volume back up, I checked to see if there was anything under my body glove that may have pushed the button. Ok, nothing there. Just an odd fluke. About ten minuets later it happened again while my phone was sitting on the table. This time I rebooted my phone. Then it was sitting on the table charging on the computer and it happened one more time. This was a half of an hour after the reboot.
Has anyone encountered this, or have any idea what might cause it.
I don't know if this helps, but I'm running cog 2..3b6. I've been using it for a few weeks now with no issues until today.

Maybe some issues with the ROM or kernel.. Try flashing a different ROM after a complete wipe and see if the issue persists. If it does, there might be something that causes the volume key to get stuck
Perhaps there was a recent update with the app that is causing problems and you could revert to prior version...i would check that before getting flash happy
For now, it's only doing it with carcast. If it keeps up I'll use a different podcast loader. Can anyone recommend one?

Overheating: Unresponsive Touchscreen Glitch

I've noticed that whenever my One overheats or gets too warm, the screen will start to tweak and register hundreds of "ghost touches", if I could call them this.
For instance, the home/back, power, volume, and screen will register as being activated, which in turn causes the phone to (a) take a screenshot, (b) switch between desktop and recent apps, launch GoogleNow, etc. These actions happen fast and don't stop. The phone registering even results in the vibration feedback tweaking, so the phone is vibrating, switching screens/activities, screenshotting, and just generally tweaking all at once.
The only way to stop it is to turn off the phone using the soft reset method, hitting the volume down button on reboot to get into quick menu, shutting it down, letting it cool off, then rebooting.
Anyone else having these issues?
Firmware is the latest update, but I've been having this problem since the last build. Hoped update would fix it. OR stay in A/C rooms haha.
TL;DR: When One begins to overheat, the capacitive home/back buttons, side buttons, touchscreen itself become completely unresponsive and registers hundreds of "ghost" touches.
I have the same problem!

Maybe it's the new firmware... When I flashed the firmware, my ROM wouldn't respond on the touchscreen at all but TWRP did so I flashed ARHD and it's fine now.

When it's happened (2-3 times) I was using ElementalX 2.4 as kernel, now with the stock one everything seems ok

Sounds more like the touchscreen driver changes

Screen glitched, then turned off!

Had this phone for 3 weeks now, just turned the screen on, unlocked the lock screen, then the screen glitched, then the phone turned itself off! Tried to power on again via the power button, but nothing. Had to hold up volume and power button together, phone vibrated. Tried turning on via power button & worked.
Anyone else had this problem?
I'm just hoping it was a one off.

I've had it happen twice, but both times were while I was sleeping so I didn't see the screen. But same thing when I woke up: phone was off and wouldn't turn on without force rebooting with the power and volume up.
Sucks when your alarm doesn't go off because your phone decides to freak out

I also had this twice.
Screen glitched, went black and had to force reboot it.
It happened to me once a day for about a week but hasn't happened since. I've messed with that much including disabling most of the sony stuff that I can't tie down what helped (if anything)

[Q] Lock Phone - Can't Use Buttons & Wake It Up Again

So for some reason, randomly, I will lock my phone and not be able to unlock it or get the screen to come back on.
So I will lock my phone - come back - screen will be off - can't press any keys (home, power, volume) and get a response. Notifications and stuff still happens. I have to hold the power button in which the screen flashes (a line shoots across the screen, disappears and then Galaxy Note 3 shows up).
any recomendations?
That's not even close to right. I would be taking it back to where I bought it.

This must be a software issue. I've had this happen to me as well. Only once in the last two weeks. Seemed to happen when locking and unlocking repetitively.

Yeah, sometimes it wont happen for a long time. Sometimes it will happen repeatedly.
I dont know if related, by Knox keeps saying something about software trying to access information every time I reboot. I have no idea WHAT app its talking about because it doesnt freakin tell me.
Happened once and can assure you its a software issue. If it continues to be a problem I would recommend a factory reset.

Screen or backlight doesn't turn back on

looks like i got a lemon, screen will not turn back on however device continues to function. The touchscreen even works but you can't tell what you are clicking on.
Only way to get back to functional is to pull the battery, only happened once last week but in the last two days i've had to pull it 6 times or so.
Just posting this up in case someone else starts having the same problem. I've got a replacement being shipped out this week.
You are not the only one. Mine does it from time to time

Has any one had problems with maps as well

I might have had this happen last night. Black screen, buttons lights would only flicker once quickly when pressing the power button. Pressing and holding the power button did not cause a reboot. I did not try any screen action as I could not see anything. Had to pop the battery to get the device back to working.

I got my replacement, and it still does seem to have this bug to some extent, however, this phone seems to be able to get out of the screen black if something else triggers it.
For instance, I got a phone call, and that brought it out of the black-out. Another time i just kept pushing buttons and it finally woke up.
Hopefully it's just a software bug??
