I bought a galaxy camera from a pawn shop last year. it worked until someone slammed in to me when i was taking a photo and knocked the camera out of my hand. the lens jammed and i had it replaced. when i got the camera back all my photos are tinted red now. someone told me ccd but i am also seeing some kind of filter lens when I am shopping and was wondering if that was superpose cut down on the red saturation

Title says it all really, the pictures from my camera come out kinda yellow/orange - off colour if you know what I mean.
So i have a look at my camera lense and there is some sort of orange plastic on the inside, is this normal? do any of you guys have this orange cellophane over the lense?
And could anyone tell me, what is it for and can I remove it, if i do will it mess up the picture?
Regards

Try checking your white balance in the camera settings. Set it to Auto. Sunny setting is usually orange tinted while Incandescent setting is blue.
The orange tint you see on your lens is not a plastic layer. The lens is probably coated to prevent lens flare or other excessive lighting. If you look closely at the lens of point and shoot cameras, you'll also notice this tint (even in high-end cameras). I noticed that cheap or low end camera phones do not have this.
Hope this helps.
Have you replace your case recently? I do have this problem because the new case comes w/ a yellow tape inside. I remove the tape and everything back to normal.
Hi,
I am looking for a good source for the rear camera. I am trying to get rid of the purple tint defect. I have bought two cameras from different sellers on ebay and both have the purple tint. The first one i bought was way worse than my original because it had even more tint and streaks! The second one i bought is slightly better althought it still has a the purple tint when shooting at a dark area and also has streaks. I have taken my phone apart so many times now its a wonder that it still works. Both the cameras i believe are the st sensors as they have the two chips and both came with the copper tape on it.
If possible i would like to find an omnivision sensor.
Thanks!
Alright, I was an idiot and managed to crack my glass camera lens cover. I purchased this : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RKFAZ5I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and did the replacement, but my pictures appear sort of "hazy" or "foggy" for lack of a better term. I can still get it to focus really well, but the pictures don't pop like they used to.
The only thing I did while replacing that could have caused problems was using compressed air while the old cover was off to ensure none of the shattered glass was left in the actual camera lens mechanism. I made sure to hold the can at an angle so that none of the liquid came out, but i did notice the lens mechanism moving around (almost like a hockey puck) as the air interacted with it. I assumed this sort of free floating lens design had something to do with the optical image stabilization, so it didn't seem like a big deal. I put the new cover on with clean hands and thought everything was fine until I started taking pictures again.
Has anyone replaced the camera lens cover and experienced a similar issue? I've ordered another one to take another shot at it, and I'm actually going to take some test pictures while the cover is removed just to see if I did actually damage the lens itself...
I have the jump protection, but would rather fix it myself than pay 175 for a refurb that I'm going to replace in 4 months anyways.
Why not replace the whole back camera?
I dont know how easy is to remove the lens cover but check if pictures taken without cover are foggy or not. If foggy then camera lens is dirty, if sharp - camera lens cover is a problem.

My guess is it got moisture behind the lense, or the lense was dirty.
When they create that hardware it is sealed in 0% humidity. If it was even a rainy day when you installed the lense, it could have caused it to fog up.

What I did was pull mine back and clean it with some alcohol and a q-tip
Is there a part number for that?
Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=371237781680&alt=web

Thanks, might give that a shot if it doesn't clear up with the next lens cover.
Did you peel the plastics on both sides of the lens cover? Also check if it's actually focusing. Maybe slap the phone and see if it refocuses. Afterall there are moving parts in there.
Is there a genuine saphire lens cover to buy anywhere? I to used the cheap replacement cover and my pictures are blurry and bad in bright light. My camera itself should be fine though.
I recently bought a Nexus 6 on Swappa, and for the first couple of days didn't notice anything at all wrong. Now today I went to take a picture and there was a very out of focus black smudge on my pictures. Ok, no big deal. Wipe off the rear lens, still there. Uh oh. It wasn't there at first, or at least I didn't notice it. I figured I bought it second-hand so the Moto warranty is null and void anyways. So I peeled my back cover up and lifted the lens off the camera sensor. Then I gently cleaned the lens on the sensor. Powered the phone back on, the spot is still there.
So evidently some little speck of crap has managed to make its way inside of the camera sensor, or a pixel on the sensor died. Not sure what it would look like. This just looks like an out of focus black speck. So I guess I'm going to be replacing it myself. Anyone know of any parts sources other than eTradeSupply? They're currently out of stock of the rear camera sensor. I can live with $25. There is another site that wants $90, but that seems a little steep.
Can someone please check out my pictures and video and tell me why Everytime I use.my galaxy s10+ at night I get these lens glare or flares . I was on 15 story roof top the other night and still and these light dots. Doesn't matter if I'm above or below a light source I get them. It's basically impossible to take a pic at night and not have them. I never had this issue on my 9+ or iPhone.

Other than keeping your lens clean and changing the camera angle there isn't much you can do. It's the light reflecting off the lens. I've seen them on every phone I've owned including the Pixel 3X, Note 9, Note 8, S8+, Moto G6 and more.
I get the there's lens flares or light bouncing off the lens but this badly? I haven't seen any pictures or anything from anyone else on Reddit with what happens in my pictures. Literally any light source will do it. I could see if I was right under a lamp post but I was 15 stories above the lights and trying to take a pic of the NYC skyline from a roof top and it still happened

I'm not sure what else to tell you other than contact Samsung and get their explanation. Maybe they will say there is a defect in the glass but I'm sure they will come to a solution of some kind.

I contacted them on Twitter and the support guy basically said the same thing but did say it shouldn't be as present like in this photo I took on the roof top

There's a starburst option in the scene optimizer....try to disable that.
