Download the stock firmware or just use the unroot option in superuser.

[Q] Problems with downloaded system update

I just got a notification that there was a system update for my phone. I'm running a rooted, but otherwise stock phone. When it downloads and reboots it goes to the recovery menu instead of updating. Is there something that I need to do to get this to install?

Do you have the stock recovery or is it custom. You have to be on stock ROM and stock Recovery in order to OTA. You may lose root, but being rooted will not affect the OTA installing.
Ah, that may be the problem. I have TWRP installed, so does that mean that I'll have to flash a rom that's been updated?
Thanks!

You have to flash stock recovery at least. Some people were having luck just flashing the stock recovery and some were having to relock the bootloader as well. I tried flashing the stock recovery and running the update but it failed. I don't really want to relock my bootloader and lose all my data when I unlock it again, so I'm holding off for now.

How did you install it? Flashing CoCore? Recovery is Kernel related, so if you want TWRP, just flash the TWRP-Version of CoCore. If you want Stock Recovery, flash the Stock Kernel.

Thankz,By the way.. i have suggested that i could also flash pre rooted stock and den 201 kernel.. any ideas on that?
@ OP You have Q&A so quit PM me and ask all your questions here
The quick answer is yes - use your recovery to back up your rooted stock ROM. If you don't like CM simply return to your back up - it will still be rooted.
Alternatively, you have an unlocked bootloader - so you can flash Doomlord's kernel immediately after returning to stock (the kernel is insecure meaning you can flash a supersu zip in recovery to get root again).
Doomlord's latest kernels are decent and I can recommend Williams kernel too - as good as stock.

Samsung Nougat Update as TWRP User ?

Hallo,
I am currently running rooted CPK1 on my Tab S2 with TWRP as recovery installed.
I just got a notification that nougat is ready to be installed. My tab then
reboots but nothing happens/is installed as i don´t use the default recovery anmore
because i am having TWRP installed. Whats the easiest way to upgrade here ? Flash
old recovery, if yes where do i get it ? Or is a flash via SamFirm better
and will i keep all my settings/data if i proceed this way ?
Thanks in advance.

Usually in the FOTA folder. Flashfire should automatically detect it.
