[Q]Can't connect in download mode

Hi guys,
I have a real nasty problem here. Whenever i want to connect my SGS in download mode to reflash i get the error "usb device not recognized". When i just connect it as storage i get "this device can perform faster". I habe MIUI 1.12.9 on it, and I really want to flash something else. It stopped working since I accidentally connected my front USB's in the IEEE 1394 slot, instead of the USB one. Since then my external HDD won't work anymore, I had to open it and to use it as an internal one. Is there anything I could do? Or is smth f...ed up with my phone usb...
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

got it working on your pc in download mode before?

Try to reinstall the newest Samsung drivers.

Once or twice when I get this message I just take out the USB from my laptop and connect it again.. if you are constantly getting this message I think something's wrong with USB.. I would suggest trying to connect on some other computer .. if that also doesn't work then try using a different USB cable..

I already tried on a different PC. Also with another USB cable but a Nokia one. Is it necessary to use a Samsung one?

No not really.. I have used a nokia cable many times and it has worked fine for me both in download mode and usb storage mode..
if you connect your phone in usb storage mode to a different computer, still the same message is flashed?

Actually on another computer I didn`t manage to connect at all, download mode or mass storage. Everything worked just fine before the USB thing.

You can:
1. use a different USB port
2. use a different pc
3. use a program to go to download mode ( POT android tools by opda team).
on different pc - install those USB drivers ->

on a different pc you first need to install the drivers for your phone..

Download and install Kies.

POT Android can't find my phone. I'll try again on a different PC...

hi to all,after flashing rom my usb cant conect via fastboot,or in pc for see the sdcard,in recovery and in general work fine i mean the led inicator is ok during charge or if me heave conect to pc,but cant conect via fastboot,not show more fastboot usb,im unlocked s-onn,i flash many many roms,and this first time is hapen...

i dint know what hapen,but i return back to my previus rom(restore from recovery),i restart my pc and all now is ok..
for see if the rom used has create this problem,i flash again the same rom,but this time all ok no problem,so maby sumthing not ok in first time with my pc ..or..i dont know..

MTP USB

Hello,
since yesterday afer a driver update my MTP doesnt work anymore !
I did everything...deinstalled driver installed driver...sync manager..etc I can put files on it everything ist fine !
The only thing which doesnt work ist MTP, so I cant use fastboot to s off for example ! Toolkit works to flash cwm recovery for example
Please help me

I'm having the same problem. I CAN connect it to my pc, and access the storage on my phone. When I try this on my laptop it will just restart HTC sync a few times.
In my device manager it shows MTP as Other devices. I tried installing a driver for it, but that didn't work out either. I'll be home this afternoon and try to copy the drivers from my pc to my notebook to see if that works out..
Anyone with a real solution?
*Update*
Tried to connect it to someone else his PC here in the office and there it worked.. I guess I'll have to reinstall my Windows. I messed around with it quite a bit... Have some problems with Visual Studio too because of it.
Have you tried connecting it to any other computers?

Usb problem

Hi, I am trying to develop lollipop for our device, but i have such a bad problem. I connect telephone to my general PC, Cable is OK, tried to connect to another PC OK too, but i can't connect only to this PC, any ideas? I know, that it isn't from the hardware or OS, because other android phones can connect normally.

What OS are you using? Fastboot drivers don't work properly on Microsoft Windows 8.1

But it doesn't even show in device manager, i tried windows 7, but the same problem, now i'm using windows 8.1 :/

I had problems with usb 3.0 ports.
I read somewhere here about a solution to replace the microsoft usb drivers with intel's, but instead I just use another computer with usb 2.0 and it works fine.

Hi guys again, and i couldn't solve my USB problem, I realized that i have USB brick , and I don't how unlocked my boot loader , and want to gain root, isn't there anyway to do that without PC?

Need Help Having Serious Issue Htc one charging but not connecting to PC

HI I know with the title of my thread its a nooby ques but my situation is different,
Since few days my phone was charging but not connecting to pc
as I know its a port issue because tried it on 3 pc's
Before I thought it's and rom issue I flash a different rom and got bootloop
Now I cant connect to pc no rom in sd
How do I flash it? I can go to twrp but I cant transfer from adb because port isnot working
I have a ques that really my por is damaged? Its only the isse?
because I cant get net port at my place and the shop man told me it could b an issue of motherboard too?
Can someone plz help me I am afraid and I cant afford motherboard for now..

Are you using the original USB cable? There are some usb cable that will only provide power and no data connection. So make sure you have a data cable first. Then check you have the latest HTC drivers installed on your computer, make sure you don't have HTC Sync installed, that you are using a USB 2.0 port directly at the back of your PC (no external hub). What is your TWRP version, your Windows version and your Bootloader version?

Have tried all recovery is twrp 2.8.7.0
Nd usb is original I use the same for my Xperia z2 for flashing...
Drivers are installed with signature enforcement disables on 8.1 windows
But all was working fine suddenly I got this issue..
What could be done

What is your hboot version
Can you get fastboot connectivity when in bootloader?
Can you get adb connectivity when in custom recovery or when booted in the ROM with USB debugging turned on?
Also worth mentioning that you won't get connectivity if your phone is on the lock screen, you must unlock the screen at least once when connected to the computer.
Otherwise if its the usb port, it can easily be replaced, you only need to remove the cover you then have access to the small usb/front mic board and can replace it without further dismantling. The usb board is pretty cheap, you can find it on amazon, ebay and probably any other website of that kind.
