Weird charging problem - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
This morning, I put my note ( that I have had for 1 month now) in the charger and left the room. When I came back I kept hearing the charging notification sound so I went up to the phone and indeed it was charging/not charging continuously. Here is what I tested knowing that I have a note 2 (with its charger):
Switched the two cables: same thing
Charged the note 2 with the note 5 charger: works fine
Charged the note 5 with the note 2 charger: works fine
Sometimes, the note 5 charger works properly but after a while it starts doing the plugged/unplugged thing.
Any idea what is happening?
Thanks for your help

Now the phone is charging fine. For people who will experience the same issue, it is in fact related to the "dock connected" issue.
The day after I kept receiving "dock connected" and Gear VR setup pops up out of nowhere. All I did was clearing the cache and that's it, everything is fine.

Gear not charging

Last couple of weeks I've noticed the Gear has been charging intermittently.
Now it has stopped altogether.
I do not think this is a hardware issue as when it has been charging there has been no indication it is on charge..ie plug it in, no 'charging' status shown but watch charges anyway.
Now nothing....any ideas?

Wirless charging

Has anyone else had or solved the issue with wireless charging on the Note 5? Mine stops charging after about 10 minutes, other times it will charge to 100%.
i have never had that issue. try your phone at a samsung store with their charger and see if it does it. compare to a demo unit. if it works and yours doesnt on the same charger get a new one..
I bought a choetech charger, charges for 10-15 seconds, then disconnects and reconnects after a few seconds.
Assumed the charger was bad, so I returned it. I like plugging a cable in anyways, charges faster and I can use the phone while it is charging.
I've read of a few people having the issue.

I am not sure what carrier you are on, but I read that Samsung has found a software change that Verizon made on their version and notifications cause the wireless charging to stop working. That post said that they are working on a fix. I cannot say this is 100% true, but after trying multiple chargers on my Verizon Note 5 without it working, I am hoping that is the case and that a software update will fix the issue.

phone gets hot, notification ring tones don't repeat, browser issues, wireless charge

So I have an unlocked non carrier-specific Galaxy note 9 512-gb version since the pie update my phone has been very sluggish even the icons on my home screen have slowly populated at times. Also my phone is hot all the time now even not using it and not charging it.* My phone never got warm before and now its hot all the time. I have cleared the cache wiped the partition used device care and made sure no apps are crashing in the background I have also made sure all my apps are up to date in the Google play store and Samsung store. Samsung sent me to you break it we fix it where my phone has been re flashed and reloaded with no resolution.
Also a side note my text messages ring tone still doesn't repeat even though it is set to repeat every 3 minutes T-Mobile confirmed this issue on a test phone. Text messages ring tones have never repeated on the note 9 I was hoping pie would fix that issue. Samsung logged into my phone to confirm it's setup correctly and it is but it doesn't work. I was a pre order and it's never worked TMobile tested 2 note 9s and they could not get it to work either.
Next issue when I am using the phones default browser sites are not working that worked before like my drs website but it will work on a 3rd party browser but not the default browser.* This broke with the pie update.
Error "* Your connection was interrupted"*
I use the charger my phone came with or the oem wireless charger* I have the Samsung flip case. I also have 2 wireless dual chargers from samsung.
regardless of how I'm charging my phone wireless or hardwired oem Samsung case on or off I have this wireless charging issue. This stared right after pie was on my phone. I didn't have this problem before.
my phone is hot all the time now... Not just charging it. Although charging it can make it warm but using it is when it's hot.
Wireless charging is giving me this error now after the pie update.* Only after the battery has hit a full charge and sits on the charger for a while. When I'm asleep I wake up to the following error.
"wireless charging paused. Try removing foreign object or thick cases that may be between the charger and your phone."
I have 2 wireless chargers I tried both and I have the same issue with both chargers when my phone is left on it over night. they are oem Samsung dual chargers the ones that came out with the note 9. They have worked perfectly until the update. Please note I have an unlocked non carrier-specific note 9 so myi software will be a little different then tmobile note 9.*
I have force stopped all apps that don't need to be running I have closed all app. I have gone in device care and cleared everything out. I have powered my phone off for 2 minutes then back on. I have again run device care closed all apps and put it on the wireless charger. The first night I did this it had no error the next day. Every day after that I have had this issue.
Lastly my battery life is horrible!* At 100%* charge my phone has always said it should get 10 hours but it gets maybe 4 or 5 hours....
phone gets hot, notification ring tones don't repeat, browser issues, wireless charger issues, pie update issues, poor battery life
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Before you do that try performing a hard factory reset first. As that usually resolves all software issues. If it doesn't then perform a hard factory reset.

no longer fast charging :(

Been enjoying this Xiaomi MI 9T Pro for the past couple of weeks until last night it suddenly stopped fast charging.
Tried different wall chargers and cables but it's still charging at normal speed and not the fast charging speed. Anyone else had this problem?
I'm from the UK so I use a three pin standard wall charging plug and then a standard USB-C cable. I was in Germany for the past 4 days, therefore using a 2 pin style plug and it was working fine there. It's only when I came back home to the UK and started using the three pin plug that I noticed it wasn't fast charging anymore.
I also noticed that last night, the overnight drain was around 17% which is definitely not normal (98% when I went to sleep and woke up around 7.5 hours later and it was 82%). So perhaps it's a battery issue with his update that recently happened? I did update it though several days ago and it was still working fine.

Maybe a silly question but you're using the charger included with the phone right?

Wireless Charging Issue

I've had the S20 FE since October 2nd (25 days). I always charge at night with a Samsung Wireless Charger. I've used it with my S8, S9, S10 all just fine - and it does charge my S20 FE too.
But, since I've had this phone, I've woken up to the phone not being 100% charged 4 times. I know for a fact that when I set the phone on the charger it is charging, the light is on, and it's centered properly. It's almost as if the phone just decides to not want to charge from the wireless charger.
One time, I laid my phone on the charger and it wouldn't charge until I restarted the phone. I checked with another phone to make sure the charger was working before I restarted the S20 FE.
Anybody else have similar issues? Do I need to exchange my phone?
I have had this happen a few times also within the last couple of weeks. We have 3 Samsung wireless hargers, 2 of which are the convertible Chargers and when it did it again today, I tried it on the other wireless convertible charger and nothing. I put my Galaxy Buds + on the same charger to make sure the charger wasn't bad and they charged fine. Every time I have found the phone not charging eirelessly, the only thing that fixed it was restarting my phone. Not happy about that.
Samsung shipping broken phones from the factory....Am very disappointed, not much choice left but to jump ship I guess. Once I'm done with this phone I won't be buying samsung, even if they fix their problems.

Sorry to hear about your issues but I'm glad to hear it isn't just me. Hopefully this was fixed with the October patch.
