I heard some talk about systemless root for 5.1.1 (I know it exists for 6.x). I'm wondering if anybody has managed to get this working for the moto x. I'd really love to start using Android pay (I was a big Google walker fan), but won't give up root to do so.

I wasn't involved with this in anyway, just wanted to share the link.

I got super excited too haha. I don't know how the install process works but it sounded like its more of an issue with Flashfire than it is with 5.1.1 vs 5.0.2. They've got by far the hardest part done (actually getting it to work on the S6) so hopefully it's not too hard for someone to make it compatible with Verizon.
this would be awsome
s6 verizon xposed
any updates on whether or not we can get xposed on a verizon s6

We likely never will get it because Xposed not only requires root, it requires a custom recovery to install the framework. Unless we some how get root on a later build such as the latest 5.1.1 build, as well as get TWRP working, no Xposed for us

Our best bet is to wait for a root exploit when Marshmallow arrives.
I was gifted a used s5, it looks like its on 5.0 OF3. I've looked around this forum a bit and it looks like there is no current method to root my device . Is this still the case? If so is there anything I can do at all? It feels pretty sluggish with all the pre installed crap on here.
Still no root method for lollipop.

damn. Is there any way to limit some of the pre installed crap without rooting? I found this program called debloater that blocks pre installed apps without rooting, but the version I found works for kitkat 4.4 and below. Havent found a version for lolipop but maybe something like this exists?
I'm in your same boat. I got a S5 cheap for my buddy who is on a S3 with a broken screen. God damn Samsung.
Package Disabler Pro in the playstore.
Hi,
I am new here. I am also new to rooting as I just rooted to 7.1 yesterday. I wanted the pixel look on my 6p. I believe I used superSu (not sure what that is lol I need some education), but that is the app on my phone. Everything is working pretty good aside from 2 things: 1. snapchat login doesn't work and from what I have seen online I cannot uninstall xposed installer because as of now I do not even have one installed because it's not released for Nougat yet. Or is that what SuperSu is? Also my battery is draining like crazy.... someone please tell me how to fix that and possibly educate me a bit on what these particular apps are, superSu and xposed installer. I am sorry to create another thread if these things were already stated but I am so confused..
Thank you!,
Brianna
Has anyone gotten android pay to work with an unlocked boatloader?
There's just soo much stuff out there, I have no idea if its possible, and what i should do.
Yes. Magisk.
Thanks! I've been messing with Magisk, but had no luck. I'm on Bliss Rom 6.0 which is CM13 based. My SElinux is set to permissive. Am I missing something? Do I need a different Rom? Mod my kernel in some way?
Thanks
I'm not actually using it myself but I've seen the comments of others who are. Maybe someone else can give you more details. I know you have to give the app you wish to hide -- like Android Pay -- the Magisk Hide privileges. You also have to uninstall SuperSu and use Magisk root.
CM13 has built in CM root. You'll need iSu to hide that, assuming it even still works.
Your best bet would probably be to upgrade to a CM14.1 based rom and check those forums for how people are getting around it. It's not too difficult nowadays though. I'm running Magisk rooted stock and Android Pay works just fine.

For it to pass safetynet with root on requires you to flash magisk after a clean install. MagiskSU will replace CM13's root manager.
i searched for some info but couldn't find any at a glance so perhaps I will just ask you guys. I apologize if this is a FAQ and i just missed it. i have supersu. i wonder if i should move to Magisk ?
1. what are the pros of Magisk
2. any downsides of Magisk ?
3. is there any tutorial for converting from SuperSU to Magisk ? i managed to get TWRP and SuperSU because someone else did it on my phone. that person is no longer be able to help. different country different timezone. not a friend either. it was a paid service done in Hongkong where and when I bought the phone.
again I apologize if this is a FAQ. I'm a noob. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction. I just want to set this phone right from the get go. it's a virgin phone. haven't install anything yet. well i install Titanium Backup just to make sure root is working. 99% virgin i guess. thank you for any help and pointers

Open source. Actively maintined. Root hiding. Systemless modifications. Big community. Etc...
Possibly not compatible with as many devices as SuperSU was.

Is supersu even being developed anymore? I'd love to have at least some sort of crappy Plan B as it looks like magisk has a possibility of dying.
