I recently found this method of getting past safety net without losing xposed mods: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRo...y_have_found_a_workaround_for_the_pokémon_go/
I haven't tried it out yet, but I was checking to see if anyone had as I know that unrooting on the turbo is a dangerous prospect. Would this be recommended?

There's nothing dangerous about this, but it won't work. Magisk is incompatible with our devices, so forget anything involving that. In order for suhide to work, you need a stock marshmallow rom that will pass safetynet on its own, and we don't have that. Your best bet is to install the Resurrection Remix rom and use the iSu app that the dev made for it to hide the built in CM root, but you still won't be able to use xposed.
That worked until two days ago. Now safety net has patched it and isu doesn't work anymore. This is confirmed by BHB27.
So sad. I only got to enjoy android pay with cm13 for 3 days..

Lame. Well, Chainfire did warn us that this was a losing battle. I guess he was right.
Actually there's some light to the end of the tunnel lol It was some later changes that broke it. BHB is still figuring out what caused it.
But if you use isu1.2 and kernel 202.1 it still works (also must enable SE linux in the kernel editor). I didn't have to do all that to get it to work but for now this config still works..
But yes, this is a hard battle to fight.

MOD EDIT: PLEASE MIGRATE TO THE OFFICIAL CANARY BUILDS
THIS THREAD IS ABOUT UNOFFICIAL COMMUNITY BUILDS. OFFICIAL BETAS THREAD IS HERE: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589.
This thread is dedicated to the community-built next versions of Magisk and MagiskManager using latest source files posted by @topjohnwu. If you want to contribute in any way -- create a PR/issue on github.
These might be very unstable builds, especially in the early stages of development. You're highly advised to read the rest of this post and at least a few last pages of the discussion.
Downloads are here: https://github.com/TheComputerGuy96/MagiskFiles. Keep reading if this is your first visit to this thread or for the updates at the bottom of this post.
Current builds are courtesy of @kantjer. This project wouldn't have happened without @Deic's module to track the snapshot updates (which may be hindered by recent @topjohnwu changes in versioning) and his contributions to the build script, as well as major contributions in supporting fellow community members by @Captain_Throwback, @Didgeridoohan and @DodoGTA.
Installation:
Magisk: flash magisk snapshot from recovery, it should install over any previous version just fine.
Magisk Manager: The snapshot APK is signed with a different key than the release APK so you can't install snapshot magisk manager over magisk manager from Play Store. You will need to uninstall existing Magisk Manager and install the snapshot APK afterwards.
Commits Logs:
Magisk (master branch)
Magisk Manager (master branch)
IF SOMETHING DOESN'T WORK AND/OR CRASHING:
No support of any kind is implied, however it's a community forum so some users (including local experts) might be willing to help your and/or your report might be helpful to @topjohnwu, but please make sure to follow the below:
Magisk Manager crashing? Problem with Magisk module? Post installed versions of magisk, magisk manager, versions of all installed modules and the magisk log + logcat.

I have MagiskHide working perfectly with SuperSu 2.79 on Nougat. I can use PoGo and AP. The latest Github commit breaks it.

Ok, cool... Did not know that was possible. Since topjohnwu himself have stated that Magisk Hide can NOT hide SuperSU, I assume he has a good reason to do what he does.
Think about saying stupid things, you should have respect for the guy. Just turn on magisk hide, do not tick supersu in gui

Not sure if you're directing that at me, but no one here is saying stupid things, except maybe you. Plus, I'm a dev/hacker myself so it doesn't really bother me, since I can always fix it myself.

If you haven't yet, please consider creating an issue for that on github and let @topjohnwu know.
AFAIK you can checkout the code one commit before the problematic one and build your own v10.

That's unexpected, it never worked previously, I just added the detection I should have done in ages.
I'll try it myself when I got time, once confirmed working I'll revert this change

I'm not sure how you're accomplishing this, but it shouldn't be possible, unless you're also using some other hiding method (suhide, RootSwitch). Magisk Hide cannot hide SuperSU. I just installed it and tried it to confirm, since your post piqued my curiosity, but not surprisingly, SafetyNet came up all red, and my AirWatch app shows compromised.
Can you explain in detail what your setup is and confirm you're ONLY using SuperSU and Magisk Hide, and pass with green for SafetyNet?
Ah, well I am using suhide and rootswitch as well and everything works perfectly fine for me.
I've attached screenshots of SafetyNet passing for me. By all means, it's your project, you may do whatever you wish with it, I'll just fork it and make my own private builds where SuperSU does not disable MagiskHide..

Let me take a moment and just lay my palm against my forehead...
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess what you're really using Magisk Hide for is hiding your unlocked bootloader with resetprop. There are other ways of doing that, you don't need Magisk Hide.
No, I do not. I use it for other stuff as well. All my mods are systemless. I'm on completely stock system with a custom kernel that does not pass bootloader unlock flags. I'm not a dumb person, but I see I'm being treated that way. I do things the way I do them for a reason. I will no longer partake in this conversation, I have better things to do. Maybe it's better to just stick to stock because ignorance is bliss. I need a break anyways from my work. Bye and thank you.

Well if you want to use SuperSU with Magisk Hide, just manually revert the change that disallowed it. That takes 10 seconds to do.

His question still stands, if MagiskHide does work with SuperSu installed and there're viable use cases for that, why disable it?

I don't think @topjohnwu was considering those extended use cases when he disabled it. Maybe now that he knows, he'll revert that change. I think he was thinking that Magisk Hide can't directly hide it so it would always be detected. With several other tools, it's apparently possible to hide it, which is good to know. Personally, I'll just be sticking with the open-source solution anyway, so it doesn't really affect me.
EDIT: Besides the fact that there are many people who will enable it, not knowing that Magisk Hide can't hide SuperSU. I think the change was in an effort to prevent those types of questions.
What is involved in taking a ROM, and making it into a systemless ROM module?
Can they be of a different Android version than the main ROM?
As far as I learned the Magisk ROM has to be compatible to your stock firmware and ROM.
And I can tell that they are possible. On the HTC 10, Team Venom build the fist Magisk ROM. They are now followed by LeeDrOiD and BadBoyz ROMs which are getting available as Magisk Module ROM, as well as as full ROM.
I can't tell you how they did it, as I'm not a developer, but you could ask in their ROM threads. Maybe they'll tell you.

Yes and it'll always be, as Magisk adds/alters mount points on boot up, but otherwise uses the existing system and system files as well as data partition. Thus the ROM and Magisk Module got to be highly compatible. It's quite logical.

Well, we'll see what pleasures this will bring. Would be nice to implement MultiROM via Magisk. Question is if it'll help. The new - Samsung build - Snapdragon 835 seems to come with a security chip, which will be able to recognize if you try to boot a custom ROM and won't boot the device at all in that case. As Samsung build it, I'd guess Exynos will have the same "security" feature.

If it is still "systemless", it seems like a Magisk solution could possibly be the answer. We shall see, I am wondering if the solution will be like the Magisk module ROM, but just replacing most everything, rather than just select parts.
Hey everyone
I've tried multiple roms. Nougat especially. But the one thing i'm desperate about is Amplify and apparently it's not working. I've tried on every rom the SDK 25 from Topjohnwu but it doesn't work. The one thing I need is Amplify.
So i want to go back to a marsmallow rom (by preference RR rom) so that i can install Xposed. Anyone got a link to good rom or a name...
Thanks in advance.

Asking for "best | good ROM" is bullsh*t. Everyone has different needed.
Search for "CM 13 OnePlus 3T", make your own view, and flash the one you want.
Plus, create a thread for this kind of question is useless, you could have search by your own first.

SDK 23 of what ? I don't even know what you're talking about, "SDK 23" alone doesn't mean anything.

Normaly xposed should work for MM roms !?

Consider flashing Xposed as a system mod, this doesn't affect SafetyNet, as long as you disable Xposed in its installer, when you want to use Android Pay or Pokemon Go. I also had bootloop problems when I tried to flash systemless Xposed, a system one works reliably.

Login to Snapchat before installing Xposed, they use SafetyNet only druing signing in.
Don't use outdated software for a buggy hack. Use Nougat, it has better battery than Marshmallow anyway.

I do not use androidPay or banking apps on my phone because I think it is unwise to do anything financial on a mobile device.
My current ROM is lineageos 14.1 which updates fine with Xposed framework installed. So I don't have to deal with stock ota updates.
For someone like me, on a custom rom, that does not use androidPay or banking apps on a phone, is there any advantage to switching from regular Xposed to systemless xposed?

If you don't care very much about system/less installation of zips because you're on a custom rom, maybe the only advantage is that systemless xposed is easier to remove if you end up in a bootloop or if you have other kind of problems.
Also, disabling magisk will disable xposed (again, in case of problems).
So, I think the main benefit is this. I tested when I was on Oreo (now I'm on P beta) and yes, in case of bootloop or crashes, disabling xposed modules or systemless xposed in magisk is like a life saver sometimes.

Personally I don't"t think it matters. I am using s8 stock noughat 7.0 rom using rovo"s xposed ver 89 and magisk 16.4 with no issues.
From my understanding reading the op for systemless xposed it's basically Rovo"s version ported to be installed through magisk. So what ever problems you have with one version you would have with the other (app wise that is).
Either version does not pass safety net and can effect play store certification.
I am currently running about 10 exposed apps + about 13 root apps at the moment.
At the end of the day I think it would be a personal choice as to which you choose to use.
