Hi All
Apologies but have spent many hours searching this forum for a cure for my 'bricked' HTC One M7 -
It started life as a stock UK O2 handset - then was rooted & unlocked prior to me buying it.
I used it for a while then wanted to go back to 'stock' so I could update OTA.
I've tried some .exe RUU updates but none have been successful (always had issues recognising the device)
My son tried to help me sort using revone etc without success.
Also tried adb fastboot and Windroid but none recognise the device via usb.
It's currently stuck on the bootloader/fastboot loop with no likelihood of progressing any further at the minute

what OS are you using on your computer? Windows 8 and above won't detect a m7 thats running hboot 1.44....
Ok thanks, I'm on Windows 10, so that would explain it! Have to dig out an old laptop. Cheers.

Yep, you'll need to use Win7, Linux or Mac. Then you should be able to connect to the phone using fastboot commands. Once your hboot will be updated to at least 1.54 it will work fine on Win 8/10. Post the output of "fastboot getvar all" when it will be possible.

We received a HTC One with a batch of other phones. This HTC One is stuck on the HTC Logo and no matter what you choose in restore mode, it brings you back to the HTC One logo where it's stuck. I thought maybe it was because somebody tried to root it, but it is locked still so I don't know.
Here's my screen. I have had experience with ADB flashing some older android phones, but wanted to make sure that's the route I will have to go on this one. Also, if so where is a bone stock rom and which rom would I need?
EDIT:
I have spent many hours on this and can't figure it out.
So my bootloader screen first said

Is there something else I should try? I would try a newer RUU but I can't seem to find one. The only other one I found seems to be a leak. If that's what it takes to make it work, I will, but I know sometimes it's not good jumping to the newest if you're on an older software.
You can boot in bootloader with the longpress of Power and Vol- buttons?
If yes, flash a recovery and after use the adb sideload whit the rom do you like

Oh, and it is an AT&T Model. I guess I am missing the stock rom section. Everything I see isn't stock.
Ok, so, you will be stock.
Go in bootloader and check if you're in s-off or s-on and locked or relocked.
Check also the firmware version.

Once I have the proper file what's the command to flash it on HTC. I've only done ASUS tablets and Nexus 7's before. Their command is adb push stock.rom /sdcard/stock.rom
Or do I use the HTC tool? I guess I am confused a bit.

Sounds like you need to RUU first.
The official RUU should be an .exe file. Its a windows program. Plug in the phone. Run the program. Profit.
It will only work if you're using the AT&T ruu for the HTC One, and the version number can not be older than your current version.

Try to flash custom recovery via fastboot. it should work. If that works, you just need to sideload a ROM and flash it via custom recovery

your correct rom is the 401 ruu, you don't want to be flashing the asia RUU that's the wrong one.

also, you have HBOOT 1.44, that is known to cause problems with windows 8 and above, make sure you are using windows 7 and your drivers and fastboot/adb is up to date.
but like yatindroid said, post your fastboot getvar all.

can you post the ouput of "fastboot getvar all"except the IMEI and SERIALNO.
install ADB/FASTBOOT (Android SDK) and HTC drivers on your computer. When your phone is connected to the computer and in bootloader mode, open a cmd prompt from your ADB/FASTBOOT folder and type:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
These info will be helpful to determine if you can restore the phone using a RUU. If not, then you will need to install a custom ROM.

Hey! thx for the instructions, but I actually installed a ROM. I put it in a thumbdrive and used an OTG cable and installed it from TWRP. Basically, everything seems fine, the wifi was working, everything was working EXCEPT the mobile network. I realised that this may be because I live in a diff region?
I used this ViperOne 6.2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334294) . and I'm living in Malaysia. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thank you

And the phone probably had root but lets put that a side and take a look at your problem.
The only reason I can think of for the phone to go directly into fastboot is because the system partition is wiped, formated or the data is corrupted.
Your best choice at this point would be to try this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/htc-desire-510-64-bit-eu--international-version/android-4-4-3-stock-os-debloated-64bit-t3361689. The guide is written by me so if you have any trouble or questions feel free to ask
Cheers, I'll take a look later.
Honestly, haven't done anything to the phone, though I can see why you might think I have. It has hardly been used and was sitting in a draw for some time. I've rooted other phones including the original HTC DESIRE but have moved onto Nexus phones and used a toolkit to root them.

Hi all,

It cannot load any os or recovery, however I can access the bootloader. Currently this is the situation:

I want to unbrick it, i don't care (want) to s-off, don't care (want) to unlock bootloader. Also I don't care if after unbricking it shows Locked, Relocked or anything else on the bootloader, just a functional phone.
Now, I've done some research and came to this conclusion, just flash the right RUU EXE for my phone and it should boot as normal. I just want a confirmation for this. Please, any senior member here at Xda if can tell me this is correct or I'm missing something.
Thanks!

Flashing the 7.19.401.51 ruu.zip should bring it back to life, as long as the problem isn't hardware related.
That ruu can be find in the general section (see stickies) or link in my signature.
Make sure to use htc_fastboot.exe to flash the ruu (not the regular fastboot.exe)

Thank you for your support!
However I'm experiencing another difficulty, when I try to connect the phone in fastboot mode (boot into bootloader > select the fastboot option > fastboot becomes red on top > but when connected to pc is not being recognised)
It remains on FASTBOOT doesn't become FASTBOOT USB. And the PC doesn't recognize it at all. Even double checked my pc (USB 2.0 Win 10) on Device Manager nothing. Tried another PC (USB 2.0 Win 7), even on Ubuntu with LSUSB doesn't see it.
BUT when connected on the pc while pushing "Power button" + "Volume up (+)" it is being recognized as "qhsusb_dload".
Do you think it is hardware failure, or there might be a chance of recovery?
Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks!
