Hi everyone,
Yesterday, surprisingly, I received an OTA update, the update number 7.19.401.51.
I am rooted with custom recovery and unlocked bootloader using sunshine (so I paid to unlock it), with stock rom and a bunch of xposed modules.
If I update, what I'm gonna miss? I know I'll probably lose the root, I don't even care about the recovery as far as the bootloader will not be locked again!
Thanks,
Andrea.

You can only install ota updates on a stock phone (stock /system and /data/preload) using the stock recovery, if your phone isn't stock this could result with a bootloop. You'll always loose root after an ota update and the bootloader status never change after an update. If you want to update to 7.19.401.51, better to use the RUU imo (or at least be ready to use it if the ota install fails)

Is it an important update? Should I take the time to flash the ruu and reinstall everything, or should I just skip it?

Kernel: just extract the "boot.img" from the ARHD 30.0 zip file, then flash it using "fastboot flash boot boot.img", though I don't understand what you want with just the kernel, not the entire ROM?
Radios (flashable through TWRP/CWM recovery) can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419699

The radio? No problem whichever one you use. You'll have to experiment, because every user is different, because it depends on your area, carrier, etc.
Try different radios and see which one give you best signal/wifi/bluetooth. I always keep them on my phone, and try different ones when I am in an aread with bad reception. It's really easy to flash and there's no need to wipe or backup or anything between different radios.
You can even use 4.3 radio no problem whatsoever. Radio does not need to be same as firmware. They will all function fine.
just stay away from "(4.3/3.17.401.2 Leak) Radio_4T.20.3218.03_10.10.1718.01L" cause it's a leaked version and known to cause problems.

Thank you but yesterday i have tried to install the "(Latest 2.24) Radio_4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L" downloader from the same link that you've posted before. I've flashed it from TWRP without success 'cause it failed flashing and i've read something about partition or whatever... Also my battery was at 39% before flashing and when i've flashed it was 23%! I had bad luck?

Probably a bad download, I'm actually using that version now, downloaded from the same link and it flashes just fine. Do you want me to upload that version for you with MD5 checksum for verification?

I'm still on ARHD 13.3. but I've tried all the radios, including the 4.3 ones up to the latest ((WWE 4.3/3.57.401.500) Radio_4A.20.3263.30_10.38l.1157.04), but I couldn't notice much difference, so went back to the other one, because it was working just fine for my area.
Let me know if you want me to upload it for you.

Setup stops after reboot: not possible to install new software, please retry..
Keep 12.1.A.0.266 - It looks like OTA is not possible on rooted phones (like in the past)

How big is that OTA update?
Try, if you can flash it it could work and you could actually preserve root, maybe even recovery but in 99% of cases you'll get error.
OTA update can't be flashed on rooted device (but, as I said, there were few times it actually worked if it's small, few mb update)
But this is update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 so I doubt it'll work.

OTA updates with root are fine, but you may well lose root, just as you would flashing a FTF or updating via Pccompanion.
The issue with OTA updates is if you have an unlocked bootloader.

That's not correct mate.
Try to downgrade, root and install recovery then try to update via OTA - you'll fail.
Only one or two OTA updates worked on rooted Z1.
I have rooted Z1 with locked bootloader and OTA will always said - error while trying to flash, update your device through pc companion.
I'm 100% certain...

OK, the few times I tried it I had no problem, but I have only ever done it a couple of times..
It's 154.5 Mb, my bootloader is still locked only my device is rooted so I will go ahead give it a try and see what happens if it fails or I lose the root I can again downgrade and root right?
Yes, but you can also just root the FW anyway

If you want to update, then download FTF. You will loose root. Or use NUTS pre rooted rom. If you want to root yourself, look over to cross development and use easy root tool v8. Then also download nuts xzdual for locked boot.
Does root break the ability to use OTA? I have unlocked my bootloader and only used the root boot img, other than that, nothing custom (no custom recovery or ROMs yet).
I'm still on .103 (CLT-L09), but I'm hearing of people on .111
I get the message that an OTA update is available, but i am not able to update because I have TWRP. Maybe it would be possible to flash update.zip via TWRP when someone offers a patched version.

I had the same concerns, was on the 106 fw, rooted and bootloader unlocked.
I received the update notification for the 107 fw, accepted the update, system downloaded the OTA and restarted, but was unable to update the OTA, then restart and update notifaction said the phone will download the whole 107 fw not just the OTA file, then restarted and updated successfully, had to re-root it then.
Hope this info is helpful,
In my case this didn't work (received the 120 firmware ota but didn't install with twrp). In a German forum I read you need a no-check recovery. Is there any already available or anybody working on it?

Hello to all,
It's the first time for me with huwawei. I have PRA-LX1C02B158 and yesterday I have unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp and rooted with magisk.
All is ok but now I have a FOTA which I can't do since it reboots on twrp.
Now my question is: how can debrand completely my phone with no brand stock rom, then flash twrp and root with magisk?
For now I want to stay on nougat.
Thanks.
