Hello,
i bought a new LG G4 battery.
Bought from Amazon, but im not sure, if its orginal.
Left one is the original, right one the new one.
1. back
2. front
3. top
The differences i see is:
back:
the date is older
on original is (D) ( i think means country -> Germany) on new on <L>
dont know why they use square bracket instead of a normal one
date is different font
original icons are bigger
front:
on new one thetexts and logo are more at the bottom
top:
circle is white on original, on new is black
you can see on original small circles on connection points
Could some of you check if they have a similar battery? so i could get sure, that is not fake, just an older version
i actually received an (L) with my g4 but when i bought the new battery it was a (D). you should be fine its real
I actually think it is a fake. Or the designer should be fired because of using free fonts instead of proper professional ones.
The hinting and kerning is very poor. I simply do not believe an original battery would have printing this bad.

Now you confused me again
I didnt look exactly at the font, only to things, which can be easily seen.
Here's the photo I took both of mines do have the white spot though
i think it's a fake
The one from Amazon does not have the water detection sticker. All my original batteries from the G4 have this.

I had two original batteries, one that came with the phone and one sent by LG with a charger as a comp for buying the phone several months ago.
Both batteries are fully interchangeable, and both accept charging by my PowerBot Qi charger which I keep on the desk.
However, a third battery arrived yesterday after purchasing on Amazon. I charged it up on the LG charger, and then installed it in the phone.
There were problems.
The new battery, which is the L model, was a very tight fit in the phone from top to bottom, but it did go in. When I tried to put the back cover on the phone, it was a very, very tight fit, and I had to do some extra work to get the back cover attached.
When the L battery was in the phone, everything seemed to function OK, and it appears to be electrically compatible with the hardware, but when I put the phone on the Qi charger I could not make a connection. I am guessing there is some sort of compression/interference with the induction coil.
When I pulled the battery out of the phone, I used a micrometer to measure the thickness front-to-back, and the L battery is 2-3 thousandths of an inch thicker than the D batteries.
It may be a counterfeit, or it may be something licensed to a different manufacturer, I don't know.
But it is a trifle different from the D battery.
Incidentally, the L battery is dated 9-27-15, so it appears to be fresh production.
Let me know if anybody runs into similar inconsistencies.

I will send it back. I was told that it was original.
Im afraid of exploding batteries. Dont want to destroy my phone.
Thanks for all your help

The ones sent from LG for the July promo which has the battery, battery case, leather back does has a plain white sticker instead of the moisture detection sticker as I have three separate packages. The one sold by Verizon Wireless unlike the one received from LG and what came from the phone mentions the cells made in Japan instead of China. All of them are D's except the Verizon Wireless was in a official LG box and dated early June 2015 while the 3 from LG from the promotion were June 2015 received in September 2015 and September 2015 for the ones received in December 2015 and January 2016.
Had same problem with lg g3. The free battery looked different than the stock one that came with the phone

You're right to be afraid of exploding batteries. Here's what mine looked like after it went off in my pocket
Bought as a genuine OEM after not being able to find a battery on LG's website or through my carrier. LG claims this is not a genuine battery. Anyone know how I could confirm?

hi today arrived my new vario3 cause my first get damaged at the usb connector. so took out the stuff tomorrow morning. i noticed that my first vario 3 had a Samsung battery and the new one has a Dynapack battery. so i decided to call the t-mob service. they told me the dynapack should be an upgraded one. the first devices where shipped with samsung.
but im confused now:
my first device had SN HT738
the new one has SN HT737
can anybody confirm this Dynapack batterypack?
the labels on the both packs are the same without the manufacturer. the one samsung the other dynapac. but the product numbers are different. the samsung has at the end 086 and the dynapac has 088. on the bottom of the dynapac accu is a aluminium plate. i think its because in the history much people said the battery goes warm or hot. so i think the dynapac is the newer version for our devices...
The metalwork on the bottom of the battery looks like a heatsink to me but it also looks like a ground plate for the battery itself so who knows.
Mine is a dynapack KAIS160 3.7vDC 1350 mAh pn:35H00088-00M
If that is any use to you?
Russ
its no use directly for me but for all other guys out there. which HT version do u have? in the german forum @ ppc-welt we saw that this dynapack is mostly shipped with HT versions lower than 738. the most devices with HT738 which are the highest versions right now have the samsung pack.
Greetings
I just bought a TyTN II from ebay.. I thought it would be a nice addition to my ever so small collection of PDA's, and it was relatively cheap.
Here's the link (remove spaces):
ht tp://c gi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260569169356#ht_3409wt_1276
Now, the seller claims it to be 100% oem, but I'm not completely sure.. In case it's a knockoff, I'll use Paypal to get my refund
So my question is, what do you guys think? is this the real deal, or just another fake TyTN II? I've heard about the knockoffs, but I havn't seen anyone.
You call that cheap? That's the real deal though.
yeah well, it's about 1/4 of retail price back in the days it's not too bad for nice little gadget like that
the auction doesn't display any photos of the actual phone, but I'm pretty confident that it's a legit OEM phone by the description, price and the claims made by the seller that it's "100% brand new & genuine or money return", even though it ships from HONG KONG
Anyway, what would a knockoff be like? and what's the price for one of those? What would one look for, in order to spot the knockoffs?
Cheers
Sorry for bumping this thread, but can anyone else confirm this is the real deal, so I can have some peace of mind?
Show us some real picks of it and we will tell you 100%
We know about this phone not the knock off's. If it doesn't look like the one in the pics then it's not what it says it is. It's a 3 year old phone, I wouldn't worry so much about knock off's.
Well, that would be like getting a picture from e.g t-mobile of the specific device you're gonna order. The seller is a powerseller with several (10+ in description) htc tytn II's.. When I ask him he keeps reassuring me that the phone is as described with official specs and pics from HTC and that it's 100 % brand new & genuine.
Would you feel good about this, or would you prepare for a full refund?
Well, I just got my Kaiser Eventhough it's a KAIS100, it has a front camera in addition to the rear-facing one. HTC could confirm it was the real deal, but... i think about the ONLY thing OEM in the package was the phone.... There were 3 chargers in the package (none of which fit !!!!) and i'm not too sure about the battery which said DynaPack on the outer side, and had å chrome-like inner side.
and btw, the battery is behaving weird. the phone takes a very long time to charge. lets say i have 50% battery, and i start charging for 30 min, and i end up with 55% battery.. then i reset my phone, and upon boot i all of a sudden have 82% (for instance)... i don't know if it's just old, or fake..

I have had three batteries so far for my Kaiser. One was the " chrome type " back, that was the original and the other two were cheap replacement batteries that were all black except for the terminals. They all worked the same.
I would just buy a new battery , seeing as the phone is new to you. Might as well start out with a new battery too.. If HTC ran the serial number and says the phone is legit, I wouldn't worry about wether it is real or not.
DENNCCOOOO
What he said.
Well, it seems its actually a modified AT&T Tilt with a added front camera. Void seals were broken, I think both front and backcover is fake, and the voicedialbutton doesn't show a image of a "speech bubble" but PTT (which seems to be used on AT&T phones)
An ATT Tilt is still a Kaiser..

Ok, a Kaiser has a front camera, does the Tilt?
That's pretty strange, they replaced everything but the insides? The Keyboard isn't from a tilt (as far as I could tell).

Yeah, very strange indeed. It seems as they took a tilt, put on a front camera, changed the housing and keyboard (it's not even a wwe keyboard - it has some chinese letters and other layout on the Fn-keys) and hspl'ed the phone with the first OliP0f hspl.... Either way, after confronting the seller, he did admit that it wasn't a unlocked HTC TyTN II, because they got the best prices on these phones from carriers... He also proposed to give me a 70 USD refund, and a HTC bluetooth headset as a compensation, after i expressed my dissapointment with the phone.
Well, i'm still not sure if the battery is OEM, and also if the housing and keyboard is OEM, but i guess i'll never know for sure
Is there a "life" counter like there was in old nokias where you couldnt reset it and it showed the number of minutes the phone was used (both incoming & outgoing) ?
Hm... check the IMEI, every motherboard / phone should have a unique number.

Ah.. there are lots of signs if a phone is used, a bit hard to put it into words but when you get it you can really tell.
I alway look for the protective film on the screen to be perfect, I have never had a new phone that isn't. I also look at the accessories and their packaging and if there have been any tamper stickers removed from the box. A friend once bought new N96 from a well known web site that was in actual fact was reconitioned, no protective film on screen and the box had already been opened. But sorry I do not know how to check the phones software.
Its pretty hard to find it through firmware, because a firmware flash resets almost everything. Even in old Nokia phones you can reset the lifetime counter.
Check the manufactured date of the battery, if its only few months old (i.e Oct or later) then chances are the phone is new. Other than that you have to rely on physical signs, condition of the accessories and box. What about the screen protector ? It comes with a screen protector that has some logos printed on it, make sure its there and no dust particles are trapped underneath (an indication that it has been removed and placed back again). The box also has a seal, but most stores breaks it to check for the contents and put warranty stickers or put SIM cards in. Other than that the the phone usually has a fresh new plastic smell.
Its relatively easy to spot a used phone when you carefully examine it, for example if you can find dust under the battery door, in speaker grills , or see fingerprint smudges etc. The battery is usually shipped half full, if you find it dead or 100% charged that might indicated the phone has been used before (at least for a brief period). Also take a closer look at the charger especially the power pins. These are some of the ways you can check, but none of these are guaranteed ways to make sure.
I think you need to enter engineer mode to see some sort of life timer.
You can also check the battery's contact.
ROOT your phone, get root explorer and check system folders creation dates. My oldest files are december 2010 and i bought phone in january.

Good idea!
Hi guys, I just received a brand new Galaxy Note this morning from a 3rd party seller on Amazon. I have a quick question though. I'm kinda picky about getting factory sealed devices, and this was supposedly a new Note. But when I opened the UPS package and took out the box, there were seals on the top and bottom. Everything looked OK, but upon further inspection the top seal had actually been broken (and the box opened, I assume), and then a second seal was placed over the broken first one to give the appearance of a factory sealed device.
I called the seller, and he claimed that the distributor whom he got the Note from opened the box for whatever reason (I'm still unclear as to why) and then resealed it with a second sticker placed over the first. Personally, I've never heard of this being done to a factory sealed device, but then again, what do I know?
The Note does appear new, but the guy's story just seemed kinda weird to me. Does his explanation hold water with you guys?
Thanks in advance, and take care.
I would be suspicious...but that's my nature. Be sure the IMEI under the battery matches that on the box. If there's a talk time indicator that can't be reset, be sure the phone hasn't been used. It could be a previous customer return, etc. Who is the 3rd party seller? You may want to mention it to Amazon. "Legit" reason or not for opening it, new in box means new in box, not opened between Samsung and your house.
Call up the distributor and ask him........
Or get it replaced if you can........A sealed device should come sealed and there is no reason whatsoever for the distributor/seller to open the device.
Btw, I can relate to being picky about sealed devices......When I had went to the mobile shop to go get a Droid Razr , the guy told me the shop only had the display model available for sale - rest were all sold out.I got the Note-which came sealed , thankfully !

nothing picky man. u spent money to buy a product and u deserve a right as a customer to be the first one to have ur hands on it, not someone who would replace the seal. check the talk time as the advice given above, and if you don't feel good abt it, get it replaced.
+1 on getting it replaced. You bought a new unopened device. The seal means just that. Return at expense of the company for not complying. its assumed you'd get a new device for the price.

What kind of charger did it come with? Is it U.S.? (Your profile doesn't show your location...) If so, they may have opened it to put the charger in, as no Notes come with U.S. chargers since it hasn't been released here.
OP I ordered from amazon from oem shop and my phone box had the samsung seal already opened, however there was another orange seal on top of it. So it looks like they were opened at some point and then the reseller put another seal sticker on top of the original one.
I have no issues with my note so I'm not worried about it.
Same with mine. Done to check out product to ensure all pieces are there and work etc. No big deal imo but to each his own

same here the orange seal still shows a samung seal and when the orange top layer on the seal is disturbed or removed a watermark showing VOID appears i believe they do this as to place the converter for the euro charger to american in the box but mines workin fine cept for heating up a bit
Got mine from "Global Mobiles" (Prime shipping overnight) and my seals were both in-tact.
A lot of distributors does this.
Either to add stuff to the package, to upgrade software or add configuration / special firmware.
If you check your warranty and that shows the correct start date, I'd just ignore the sticker.

I'd send it back. New should be sealed.
Mine was sealed but had a USA adapter for the German plug in the amazon box (not in the sealed Note box).
Thanks to everyone!
Thanks to everyone who responded. I ended up sending my Note back at the seller's expense, and now I'm waiting for my refund once it's delivered. I had felt uncomfortable with the transaction because the seller kept giving me unusual answers to simple questions.
Anyway, it all worked out for the best (assuming my refund goes through) because I ended up getting a Note on eBay for $629!
Thanks again, guys, and Happy Holidays.
Upon reading this thread I rechecked my box, bought from OEM Shop, it indeed has a second seal, I guess to put in the wall plug converter. I'm not worried, since myphone works fine. It's probably smarter if they included the converter from the outside.
I even feel less secured buying from eBay since most of them are opened box unless explicitly stated as sealed.
Weird my box only had one seal period. the other side of the box didn't have a broken seal or a seal at all. Mine came from l2d2 and had the usa adapter in the box.

I think that the first place to check if the device is really new or not is the battery connectors.
The battery side of those is often mate color and gets a bit shinier after insertion and rubbing with the main unit pins.
I guess this would be a good tell-tale of weither it s been turned on before or not.
I buy all my phones on the grey market here in China/Hong Kong, and this is the first place I check.
Also not sure about the note (will get one soon ), but the bottom of the SGS2, for example is shinny plastic that gets little scratches VERY easily, also could be a place to check
Hope this will help a little!
I bought my GNote from an Australian online seller after seeing a post on XDA about it being the worlds best price at $630 with post. Shopping Square. From Sydney it should take 2 days post (Aus Post is worlds fastest 80% of the time).
The site said it might take anything up to 10 days. It took 12 and came from Hong Kong with a German manual, european power supply and Australian converter plug.
The screen when loading the Market shows light and dark patches of gray. The box had both seals broken. I suspect its a used warranty return. If i had known then i would have kept my money to buy a definately new one for more or definately second hand for less. Aside from the suspicious uneven gray i cant see screen problems at any other times.
The site doesnt explicitely say the product is new. But phone shops selling new phones dont say that either. I will just have to love it how it is. Fast and getting faster when i fix software problems ;-)

OEM Shop seems like a good seller. I saw their listing and specifically asked them if the Note was factory sealed. They answered with an honest 'No' and stated that the seals are broken although the phones are still brand new, never been used. I appreciated the honest reply.
But the seller I ended up going through told me that their Note was indeed factory sealed, yet when I received it, the box had been opened (re: my original post). Chances are, the phone was probably OK, but I just don't like being told something that's less-than-true, especially when I'm throwing down this much money.
Anyway, I have since received my Note from the eBay seller, and I was happy to find that this Note was in fact factory sealed.
I saw on Aliexpress two shops which offers the wireless charging sticker.
One shop is a pre order.
And the other is combined with the NFC chip. So you have to remove the original one. Which I don't like to do.
that great news...
Do you happen to know if the wireless charging is working with a case like otterbox on?
Sorry I don't know I haven't ordered them.
I think I am not allowed to place links.... So just search Aliexpress on "lg g4 wireless"

Oh I don't know on that as I would never buy a model with NFC. I would only buy a wireless charge only.

I found this one on aliexpress but I wont have a G4 for a week or two so i don't know if its compatible with the US one, I know the G3 had 2 (well 3 if you count AT&T) different pin outs i'm not sure if the G4 is the same
Good finds... people need to keep posting them when they find them. I have an alert setup on ebay to email me if something comes up so I fully expect to see them on ebay soon as well.

Depends on the thickness. In theory, the more obstruction the worse the charging is going to be until it just doesn't work. A strong charger should work with the case, based off previous phones.
Hasn't anyone tried ripping out the QI/NFC sticker from a Quick Circle case and putting in a standard G4 back? Expensive option i know but at least it's an oem sticker.

Bad news, the magnets in the QI charger for the Nexus 5 and 7 seem to make the LG G4 think that the quick circle is closed, so you cannot interact with the phone.
Even more bad news is that I couldn't get my quickcircle case to charge, either something is faulty or LG need to enable it with a software update.
They are two versions of the quickcircle by the looks of it, CFR-100 and CFV-100. It looks like CFR may be Korea only and will not work with the H815. You can see product listings like in post 11 state compatibility with the F500 but not H815.

did you purchase one of the stickers from aliexpress? the listings seem to indicate compatibility with both F500 and H815. im confused by your post, i was under the impression no official wireless accessories have been made for the G4 yet but it sounds like you have a case?
I bought a quickcircle case of eBay, seems to be the official case.
In the UK the quickcircle case can be purchased off eBay and many official outlets now.
The pins on the back cover matchup with the phone so I'm not sure what's going on, I'm still waiting on a reply from the seller.
Just ordered 2 of these. Hope they fit tmo usa! 94 available! Hurry before their gone! lol Somebody here will probably buy all of them.
