I m getting Roaming sign on Home Network... with the Reliance Network only... I even tried changing the firmware.. is there a way to solve this..?
or is there a way to change priority of networks.?
Seems like a radio(baseband problem to me). Or you might have bought a SIM card meant for other state exaample using a Gujarat SIM in Maharashtra is a ROAMING Network. Or in Settings -> Applications -> All -> CSC Force Stop It Clear Its data/cache and Reboot

I hope this is in the proper forum and hopefully the question has not been answered yet. I did a search and have found some threads but not this exact question.
So anyway...I have a Rogers (Canada) HTC One M7 running 4.4.2 and HTC Sense 6.0,
Lately I have been roaming in the USA and have incurred roaming charges even though I set my Data Roaming setting to Off (no check mark). It seems to only happen when I am roaming. Basically this is what happens.
The Data Roaming Setting is set to Off all the time.
I go into the US and lose data connection as I start to roam. This is fine.
If I turn off Mobile Data and then later turn it back on, I get the "You are roaming and incur charges..." pop up box.
The only options are OK or Cancel
Choosing Cancel keeps the Mobile Data Off
Choosing OK turns ON Mobile Data and the Data Roaming setting is suddenly set to ON (there is a check mark where previously there wasn't) and I now incur charges.
Is this by design? Shouldn't the Data Roaming setting stay off, even if you turn on/off the Mobile Data? I am not sure if this is a Phone Issue, and Android issue (OS or corrupted OS) or a Rogers (cell provider) issue or a Roaming (cell provider) issue.
I am hoping someone can enlighten me on this behaviour.
Thanks in advance.

I guess i am having the reverse effect to your problem, my data roaming keeps switching off.
With data roaming enabled, and network selection on automatic. Whenever I am in a no signal area with my home network provider, the phone should automatically roam on a partner network for mobile network and data network. (I can confirm this works when tested on a few Samsung phones). However on my HTC, the mobile network roaming works (calls and text) but data roaming does not work. It connects momentarily then disconnects and stays disconnected and wont re-enable until a reboot. If i manually select a network (either home network or roaming network) and then restart the phone, the mobile data will stay enabled. But as soon as there is a switch between home or roaming network then the data disconnects and cant reconnect until the next reboot.
I was wondering if this could be a hardware limitation or software limitation.

I personally don't think it is a hardware issue, although it may be a software bug and an issue with the roaming provider. I believe that the data roaming setting gets "reset" once the phone mobile data setting is turned back on on a foreign network. I think that the HTC "sees" a foreign network and does not know what to do so it either gets the setting from the roaming provider or just defaults to a set setting.
In my case, I had lots of support calls with Rogers and according to them, my data roaming settings are probably resetting based on the roaming provider when the mobile data setting is turned back on. I actually video recorded what happens and sent it to Rogers when I was roaming. Once they saw it, they told me that any unintentional roaming charges will be credited back.
They did not tell me if it was a software issue or a roaming issue. However, I also tried the same setting using an old iPhone4S and a Samsung Galaxy S3 and both worked fine under the same conditions. That is, the settings were retained.
So i changed my sim card and since then im getting an error with the new activated sim card, everytime im turning the data plan notification comes "sign in to the network" and when i touch it, it just takes me to some unreachable page from pervious carrier.
things ive done:
network reset
APN setting
changing 4g to 3g etc
airplane mode on off
chaning networn setting
factory reset!!!
hard reset
google stock unrooted rom!
changing sim cards and still get the notification bar!
please assist me.
I am travelling with active roaming service with Airtel .
Was able to Latch in Brussels but as soon as reached in Latvia unable to connect to any network
Did all experiments of manual selection and restart and network reset.
Airtel customer service says all ok from their side.
Checked my phone says network not locked
Sim card works perfect in iPhone.
PLS HELP URGENT
Turn on the mobile data roaming option under Network and try keep your network under automatic
Did both of that
Still no success.
In that case turn off 'Choose automatically' in Wireless & networks -> Mobile network -> Carrier. See what networks your phone can find and try to connect to the same one that works with the other phone.
Hi All,
I have recently bought unlocked xperia 1 ii US version and this phone supports Verizon (cdma less) network. I use Visible provider (Visible uses Verizon network). Now when i insert Visible sim into my new phone.. It treats it as verizon sim and applies Verizon Apn settings I believe but to make Visible network work it needs visible specific APN settings. But there is no way to add APN settings manually, apn settings menu goes away when i insert visible sim but i am able to see apn settings when i insert tmobile sim, can you please help me and let me know how to manually add Visible APN settings as I dont see option to add APN when I insert Visible sim
On my phone (international model) go to Settings > Network and Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced the last option is Names of Accespoints. If you press there, you get in the APN screen. on the top there is a + sign .

Were you ever able to figure this out? I'm wanting to give Visible a try as well but I've ran into this same issue. Oddly enough, US Mobile works just fine using the standard Verizon APN
No man, it didn't work, had to switch my provider

I was able to add the APNs in by adding them while my Mint SIM card was in the phone and swapping the SIM cards back and forth while I was saving them if one wouldn't let me save due to an APN type. It was kind of a waste of time though because even after successfully getting all 4 APNs in and selecting the right one for Data, nothing happened and it didn't really matter if I was rebooting the phone or switching in and out of airplane mode. It seems that no matter what I did, the phone would not connect to the carrier which is a shame. Maybe it would work on an AOSP ROM but I don't think I could be bothered just to try a carrier on it.
hi
i got the phone from korea, the problem is when connecting to 4G the phone would lose internet and calls then lose the network, i get a message saying "failed to register to network (15)" but if i forced the phone to connect to 3G then it works fine. here's what i tried to fix the problem :
turning off the mobile network then turning it on
resetting the network settings
removing NR Whitelist
and none of them fixed the issue. there's a korean menu in the service mode, but i didn't miss with it. i have attached screen shots of the software information and the korean menu in the service menu.
Who provides your service? Have you tried going into network settings and APN and see what that says
If it is a Korean phone and you aren't in Korea and it is locked into the network then you won't be able to get service somewhere else I don't think
