I bought a new Sprint HTC One M8 from ebay which had KitKat in it so I went to HTC site and downloaded the RUU version : _4.25.654.18
It was in EXE file and as I proceeded everything was fine but while installation it said installation failed and my phone is stuck at HTC logo with 4 exclamation mark on all the 4 corners :crying::crying:
It didnt had any custom rom or so.. It was simply unlocked sprint version.
What should I do? :crying:
Please help..

Try holding the power and volume up button down at the same time for ten seconds. Once the screen turns black, press the volume down button and the phone should reboot to the boot loader. Once there, run the RUU again.

So which version of RUU you flashed which solved the problem? I'm also having the same problem i have htc m8 Harmon kardon sprint. I tried flashing RUU_M8_WHL_L50_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_Harman_4.25.654.18_Radio_1.09.20.0209_NV_SPCS_1.52_003_release_446220_signed_2
But during flashing the process stuck at 25% saying
Updating system...............
It did not move further for almost 1 hour and i ended up unplugging the device. Now it has stuck in htc boot loop(though i can access the bootloader and fastboot). Please tell me which version should i flash in order to make it work again like normal.
Phone is bootloader "locked", and S-on. Please i'm waiting for your kind support

i want to install kitkat without RUU, is it possible to flash hboot or else on it with any kitkat base sense ROM without RUU.
KINDLY GUIDE ME.
I do not want to run RUU bcz whenever i tried to download from androidfilehost WITH IDM it break downloading in middle or before completing so wasted my two days with it. i have renovate 5.0 downloaded so that i am asking to directly flash firmware and then custom rom through TWRP.
You can flash a KK ROM no problem. Since you're S-off you can also downgrade your firmware, which I wouldn't bother with.
i tried to flash renovate rom but after flashing phone stuck on first boot screen with hTC only
finally done.
GUIDE:
first bootloader unlock from HTCDEV, then root with TWRP latest, then get S-off through sunshine on lolipop and then install Sprint_M8_HK_Stock_Rooted_3.30.654.2_Deodexed
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
third post and flash it through twrp
now you will be on 4.4.4 as i done it and then sim unlock my phone with terminal command method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/general/sim-unlock-s-off-t3072722
very easy
if like then press thanks

This mean nothing. By firmware number im talking about the real number, not "original" or "android 4.4.3". There are tons of "original 4.4.3 firmware". 7.19.401.2? 7.17.1540.7?
If im asking its because I know there are some issues with newer custom kernels included in some roms when flashed on a phone with the 7.17.1540.7 firmware.
this command will tell you all the info about your phone inclsuing your firmware version:

Thank u alray,
But i've already flashed this RUU (twice) but the problem still persists , maybe it's hardware problem like u mentioned.
I wanted to try to downgrade to JellyBean but i couldn't when i flash this RUU (M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.20.401.1 Radio 4A.13.3227.06 10.27.1127.01 Release 308001 Signed 2 4) when phone boots i can unlock screen at once and then i have black screen and all i can do is switch off with power button.
Maybe it's impossible to downgrade, have u any information about this? can u help me?

yes you can downgrade with s-off but the symptoms you are describing makes me believe its an hardware issue. Btw 1.20.401.1 is a beta version, if you want to try one try the 1.28.401.7.

Any expert/developer please help me recover my camera..
The story was I was on stock HTC Sence (Kitkat but later on updated to Lollipop by OTA updates) then I decided to try Cyanogenmod 13 on my HTC One M7 when I installed, during calls the microphone was not working properly then I installed Cyanogenmod 14 Unofficial but that was on ALPHA stage at that time and it was consuming too much battery so I again removed and flashed Cyanogenmod 13 but again that MIC problem.. Than I thought to download the stock firmware from htc website to flash. I downloaded and installed the stock firmware which was than preupdated I mean Lollipop version but when I tried to open my Camera app it didnt worked. When I open my camera app it shows a black screen and after a few seconds it closes..
I tried to install cyanogenmod 13, 14 and few TWRP Nandroid backups of older versions but still the camera is not working on any ROM (Stock and Custom both)..
Now I am really stuck and cant do anything to recover my phone cameras... Please help

Not connecting with 4G Network???
I tried so many ROMs Custom & Stock but my phone connects to 3G network and shows only H,H+ & 3G near to the signal bars on status bar. I think my phone is 4G/LTE supported and it also shows option in the settings for connecting with 4G/LTE network. I am living in 4G coverage areaa I tried to check my SIM on other phones and it works but on phone I am not able to connect with with the 4G network.
May be it is also an issue related to software but is there anything related to hardware which I should check please guide me.
Thank you...

7.17.1540.51 is the latest Developer Edition version so I guess you've flashed the Developer Edition RUU from their website (that's fine) and not the At&t version from the link you've posted (which is 7.23.502.9). If after flashing a RUU your camera doesn't work, its probably an hardware problem. Flashing a RUU restore all the software and firmware back to stock so if something still doesn't work after this, there is nothing you can flash that will solve the problem.
I would try to flash the RUU again and make sure it's flashing completely (no error code) just to make sure. If the camera isn't back after that then you'll need to send it for repair. Backup everything you need first, the RUU will wipe your phone.
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...0.51.exe?_ga=1.186317161.155376461.1479261569
Thanks for your help I tried you RUU but still the same problem :crying: Now I am sure its a hardware issue.. I will send my mobile to for camera repair.
Secondly yes I installed the correct RUU the link I have pasted was wrong which I correct later you can check the post.

Question one. what is my HTC ONE M7 Carrier??
are there any way to know it that i should use??
someone have installed for me TWRP 3.0.2-0 recovery.
but when i tried to check for system update in settings, phone tell me that there's an update and start to download it, but when i install it, here comes up with error stating that:
"Updater process ended with ERROR: 7"
is there someone who have any idea, why this is happening??, does this issue have anything to do with the TWRP recovery?
plus, when i try to check the file that system update have download for me to update, i found in it's name the name Sprint (OTA_M7_WL_K44_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_5.05.651.2-5.03.651.3_realese_393199.zip). does it mean that i'm using HTC sprint version??

Your phone is running the Sprint firmware and the MID is also Sprint (M7WLS not M7_UL). Was the "meid" only 0 or there was a real meid before you edited out with "X"

The M7_UL can not have a MEID, it's always 0
Your MID is Sprint (PN0720000)
Your firmware (version-main) is the Sprint version
And i'm pretty sure that if you look at your partition table, you'll see that your phone is partitioned like a sprint variant
Code:
adb shell
cat /proc/emmc
M7_UL partition table https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42403239&postcount=1
M7WLS partition table https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40326225&postcount=1
(look at /system for example) p35 vs p37
If you bought this phone online and told it was an international/gsm phone you were scammed, its a sprint cdma variant.
To install ota update your phone must be 100% stock (stock recovery, 100% untouched /system partition). You can't install ota update with a custom recovery. Also the M7WLS variant will only work correctly when compatible custom recovery/rom/kernel are installed, Recovery/rom/kernel for the m7_ul will not work on your phone.
You can update the to latest sprint version using the ruu on htc's website or you can flash a sprint compatible custom rom using a sprint compatible twrp.
