Brothers,
Need ur help to enable power save for wifi ( hence running wifi make battery drain), also how i can stop automatic update service, each time i uninstall the new market its reinstalled again !! I hate it its so bad, also it take a lot of space of device memory.
with thx
Yea, it automatically updates the market and other google apps. WE can stop app form automatically updating by going to My apps and then choose a app and then deselecting the option Allow Automatic Updates --it can be done while installin apps too-- in description or similar. You can try it for market too. But, I don't think we can stop google from updating its system app.

The option allow automatic upgrading is available while installing an app from market.
Go to My Apps> Select a app> Uncheck Allow automatic updates.
I have attached images files if you want to see. Sorry for the zip file didn't have time to post image here.
It is good if you don't want other app to update automatically. Also, I searched for market but it is not there, think the OS manages system apps upgrade. You can search for if you want --may be you will find it.
All the best
Market app will install the update automaticly, no matter how many times you downgrade this app.
Maybe there is way to that, but i don't know how.
For other app, you can open the market app, then press menu button and select My Apps. Choose any apps that you don't want to automatic update, then uncheck the Allow Automatic Updating option.
Hope it help you out.

hey....this may be your case...my se3ttings under update was set to auto download when push was avail. and it would let me know until i installed or dismisssed. after dismissing, it would come back up after a bit or after reboot. to fix this you have to delete the update it downloaded and is storing in cache. that would remove the flag that it is holding an update and hence stop the notification. to stop it completely, change the setting under updates to uodate manually only. hope this helps.
Bump. I don't want to update but this notification is aggravating. I do not have auto update turned on.

Not sure if this will work with our phones and I can't try it since I'm not on a stock Rom but it might work for u guys. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2478747 make sure u reboot when u finished and if u still have the system update then check if the changes saved or if they reverted back to normal. Also make sure u remove the ota file if u downloaded it.

I know this thread is from 2014, but I searched and found this one earlier this week. I have found a solution for this problem today.
Go to Settings => Applications
Right click on the 3 dots
In this menu click on "System View"
Now you will also see the system apps in the list
Click on Updater => Storage => Clear data
Go back to the list of apps
Click Config Updater => Storage => Clear data
Go back to the list of apps
Click Download Management => Storage => Clear data
The message for the system update will be gone.
Hello,
I've the following notification:
System updated downloaded
Android 5.1.1 System Update
My phone is rooted.
What's the best way to get rid of this notification, and prevent any future OTA updates on my rooted Nexus 6 phone?
Thank you!
Keep it rooted... It won't update if it's rooted.
To get rid of the notifications, either use titanium backup to remove the update app or just go ahead and flash you a nice custom ROM.
Thank you for your reply.
However, I think the update APP is Google Play Services, and I didn't want to delete Google Play Services APP.
Anyway, I'd tapped on System Update Downloaded till it shown Google Play Services.
Then, I'd pressed on the cog icon, and had disabled Show Notifications setting.
The notify had disappeared right away.
Then, I'd deleted the downloaded OTA (100MB) file from /cache

Where's the System Update Downloaded at? I'm having the same issue and since I can't find a way to flash a Z28E zip on my phone with Twrp I'd rather just stop update notification
I am on a custom ROM but still got the update message. No .apk to delete as in the note 4?

Did you become a Developer as outlined so you can see the "Automatic System Updates toggle"?
as the title says i have been having problems getting the youtube app to stop updating , i followed the instructions in the vanced post , i did the method 2 of the magisk installation (where you download the latest version from the page and install the module) placed the install via magisk module and the detach from playstore module on the download folder , all goes normal i even deleted all youtube data , and unistalled the app with titanium backup , and disabled the auto update tick box several times and it still ends up updating youtube and removing the vanced version :/

For the app should be enough.
that's what i always do and it still ends up updating , even with the detach module, maybe i'll have to disable it all together :l
That's werid stopping auto update from the play store should stop all that

Well, it doesn't. I'm experiencing the same.
i am using it on pie. is really frustrating the app update by itself.
SWITCH OFF AUTO UPDATE IN PLAYSTORE ARE NOT WORKING AT ALL.
detach in TB is NOT WORKING also.
but version on nougat doesn't have this issue, maybe google did something fishy on PIE?
I guess you should ask for help in the dedicated threads for Youtube Vanced instead of creating a new thread for this.

Same in Oreo. Never had problem with Nougat.
I installed it just like the OP, it would detach but play store would attach youtube back on the update list by itself every night. When the phone is restarted the detach module in magisk will detach it again, but the next morning, play store would put it back on the list.
use service disabler

Disabling the auto-update from Play Store works fine for me. I've been using Vanced for months and no such issues.

I've been trying to figure out this issue for a while.
Basically issue for me is on Google Pixel XL and now Pixel 3 XL and my friends Moto x4, all on both Android Oreo and Pie... Using Magisk repo install and uninstalling stock YouTube, and then adding enable_detach empty file in cache folder in root along with turning off "Enable auto update" in Google play store for YouTube . Usually this works for a few weeks but every now and then it ignores it and updates itself and turns on auto update without user explicitly allowing it. (Says YouTube was just updated).
I can easily fix it by uninstalling updates again but my friend doesn't know how to do this easily. I also tried to remove YouTube forcefully with titanium backup from system app and detaching months ago but that caused a lot more problems. Currently it gives option to attach to market forced despite it still showing up in market saying update (and auto update off for it)
I wanted to understand the plz and settings.sh options if using specifically Magisk method 1 (Magisk repo). Or are those only if using the other methods under magisk and/or root only option (no Magisk)?
Use the Sudohide xposed module.
This Module will prevent apps from detecting other installed apps on your device. Settings are done on per app basis.
Steps to hide VancedYT (A) from Play Store (B):
1. Select app A in the main list a new list view will be launched
2. Tick the checkbox next to app B in the newly opened list view
3. Press apply to save and back to exist
4. Restart luncher or reboot the phone.
Slow down.
Detach using titanium backup WORKS
For me I could only press "attach to playstore"
So I did. After I got button detach.
It worked and removed it
Hello,
I wanted to show you my own approach to make it work 100%.
*This GUIDE was written for a German forum so the video will be spoken in German but you can just follow what I do in the video.
*You only have to install the Device APK in the included folder if you can't install it via Playstore.
After you have installed all the Google services, I recommend to use PHONE-Clone to transfer your data. I used all data, including Google APPS and in the end it looks like you only changed your Smartphone
Before we start, I want to make it clear that everyone should decide for themselves whether to follow this guide, we all know that foreign software is not so popular, but that's the way it is in the hobby developer corner
If you are afraid that your data will be sucked up then do it, it is not that easy so please refrain from these comments! This GUIDE is specially made for people who want to install the Google Play Services.
The following apps are currently not working with it:
Google Pay
Google Music
Google YouTube Music
Google News
Google service for push messages (how disadvantageous this is remains to be seen)
What do you need for this GUIDE?
-USB C cable
-A PC or Notebook
-20 minutes of your life
Installation Package] (if you don't have the possibility to install device ID from the Playstore you can find the APK in my installation's folder but please try before via Playstore )

The video is currently in German but you could just copy what I do

This has not been checked yet. I had installed all updates before and only then installed the services on it. If an update should activate the push notifications again, you only have to repeat the last steps:
Clear the framework data and cache and see if it works.
If not then delete play services and uninstall framework and install it again. This should work then
have followed these steps i believe correctly however when i try to sign into google i am getting a message saying ' a problem occured while communicating with google servers'
anyone advise what ive done wrong or how to fix it please?

Worked fine for a day and then started getting the error messages. Tried to go through the process again and could not get it to work with any of the play services replacement files supplied.
Any ideas?

Don't make it complicated. The proccess are quite simple:
1. We need only 2 gms files: gms1 as the link I sent above, gms2 is the latest right version for your phone ( should choose no dpi, armv8 x64 and Android 10: 120400 variant )
2. After activated Play Service you get the errors, remove gms2, install gms1 then reboot.
3. Open Play Store, download some apps, first app should be a heavy app. When they start the download progress, clear GSF(GG Service Framework) data then back to Play Store and continue to download the rest apps for some mins. After this you will get error free.
Reboot the phone, remove gms1, reinstall gms2 and Done
As you said, now remove gms1, install gms2, reboot and do it again from no2 above.
can you make a new post with the newest update, so people won't conflict with other progress. I've done so many steps and no of it works>>

Someone on youtube have solved in this way:
1. Clear cache and data of google account manager from Settings>Apps.
2. Uninstall google account manager.
3. Download GAM 4.4.4 from apkmirror and install
4. Add google account as shown. When it prompts for credentials press 3 button shortcut on upper left corner and sign in through browser
5. Enter account name and password. It then returns to google account manager again but this time the name is already there!
6. Enter account password again and voila!
