I've searched and can't find an answer
I'm going to be receiving my dual sim N5 later this week and will be using the main sim for my personal usage and the 2nd sim for my business (I only receive calls, make calls and texts with my business number anyway, so makes sense to prioritise the personal sim for LTE/4G usage too)
My question is; will I be able to have 2 separate sets of contacts and 2 separate SMS's set up for both the different numbers, or do they all kind of merge into one?!
Thanks
Assuming you store the contacts on the phone then you can use them with either SIM card, just select to call or SMS and then choose which SIM to use. Not sure what happens if you store them on the SIM.

The problem has been that the Kaiser does not dial local numbers with the + sign in front. The problem occurs with prepaid Rogers service in Canada only and probably occurs to all Kaisers (2 for sure). In fact Rogers and Fido monthly plan SIM card work just fine. HTC has not helped and nor has Rogers who claim that the phone is "not supported". The problem is in the Kaiser though. The prepaid sim card that creates the problem in the Kaiser works just fine in any other phone including Rogers HTC Touch.
I start hating my phone, too many problems with no solution in sight.

I cannot dial the local numbers that I have in the contact list. All my contacts phone numbers have been made on the PC with outlook and then sycronized them on the Kaiser. All the numbers have been made selecting the country code in outlook and appear in the format +country code then (areacode) then number. Unfortunately I can only dial the international ones and not the local. When I dial the local numbers a AM says that the number has not been assigned. The same number dialed via Skype works just fine.
If I remove the +sign and leave the 1 (I am in Canada) the number dials no problem. Same thing if I dial just the area code and number.
The problem is driving me nuts. I cannot make 2 set of contacts one for Skype and one for the regular calls. I also travel a lot and I need to dial the numbers from different countries without have to change anything.
I looked on the net for suggestions but did not find any answer.
Any help is much appreciated
Cheers

I've read the other threads on this forum about this for all phones, and I think it may be a memory issue, but I wanted confirmation before I go deleting a load of texts as I have important ones. [I presume there's a set amount of memory set aside for text messaging and i've reached that]
It just suddenly stopped receiving, but I can still send and they show up in the 'Conversations'.
To give some figures, in one of my text conversations with a contact I have over 6000 texts [Both sent and recieved together], and others around 100-200.
Would it be that?
hi !
Try this : Remove your SIM card and put it into any other phone. Now delete some messages from your SIM card. ( No you cannot delete SIM messages in HD7) , put the sim back into your HD7 and you will start getting messages again.
Atleast happened with me !
Try and tell if this works for you.

Hi everyone,
questions for those using Note 5 with 2 SIM cards... how DUAL-SIM functions?
I've read one review where they stated it is not organised well in the phone software and that it is buggy to use it with 2 cards.
Please share your experiences
I've got the N9208 and I find its adequately organized. You can select which Sim is primary, used for voice, data, sms, etc. I've not tried to save numbers on my Sim so can't comment on that but you can certainly choose which Sim is used for voice or data.
I found it to be pretty well handled. As stated above set defaults then off you go. When making a call it asks me which line I wish to use and messaging has two send boxes one for each sim
Incoming calls and messages also show which sim was dialed so you can respond on the correct one. Notification and ringtones can be set for each sim independently.
What would be nice would be being able to set the default sim per contact it may be possible but not tried yet
I can see how to check which sim a text message has been received on. However I can not see how to check sim a call is being received on.
What I want to do is divert call received on my work sim to answer phone when I leave work, weekend or annual leave.
Please can someone advise how to confirm which sim the call that is currently being received is coming from.
I have tested phone and monitored the settings listed below but they do not apppear to change.
multi_sim_data_call = 2
multi_sim_sms = 1
multi_sim_voice_call = 1
Have checked both system and secure settings and can not see anything related.
I do not want to turn off the work sim as this is used for mobile data as I get unlimited data and have virtually none on personal sim.
Help and advice appreciated
Thank you.
As far as I know, there is not a way to determine this through Android.
Do you get a notification on incoming calls that tells you which line the call is coming in on? If so, you could use AutoNotification to act on receiving that notification.
I'm new here joined hoping to get clued in,
I have a new to me tab active 2 and it suits my needs and I like it but I am a bit confused over a lot of different information I run into,
In my case I'm using a tello sim for service which is good for my area and the sim came with a phone number I assumed from online reading i could make calls and use the tab for text but it would seem I can not tello said my device doesn't support voLTE so I hope some of you gurus can tell me what I can and can't do with this tab call and text wise perhaps suggests apps,
I do not make many actual calls so in most cases I can use Facebook messenger call feature if it's a friend but what about that once in a while I need to call a restaurant or car parts store etc I'm I simply out of luck making such calls on this device?
And so does that also rule out text messages, for example if i wanted to use that tello number so a craigslist buyer seller could hit me is that out of the question too on this device?
Many thanks,
Bats
