DEVICE DISCLAIMER:
I DON'T OWN THE DEVICE. TESTING ON THE SPECIFIC DEVICE WILL BE LIMITED TO TESTERS
Krexus was born out of a simple necessity. The latest releases of stock Android (namely lollipop and marshmallow) were pretty close to my idea of a perfect android ROM, yet missing some elements, which are meant to be included in stock Android, at least for me. Starting from a clean AOSP environment, only specific features and fixes are included, which are personally tested ON HAMMERHEAD, with one goal in mind. To create a stock like android ROM, "as it should be".
This means, and I mean it, a ROM like how stock nexus image should be, for me.
This isn't going to get bloated. Most UI "features" are already there.
This isn't going to start picking commits relentlessly, I will test them personally and only add things that 1) work like they should 2) would fit in a stock ROM.
This isn't going to be updated very quickly. Only security and bug fixes will be pushed out ASAP.
This is going to follow Google's & AOSP guidelines as closely as I can.
And lastly, this is first and foremost a ROM about Nexus 5 (hammerhead). This is my personal device, this is where I test the ROM. angler, bullhead, flo, MAKO, shamu builds are provided AS-IS. With that in mind, I have to say that the google+ community has been flashing mako builds for a looong time and hasn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd share it here, too.
That said, welcome aboard!

F.A.Q.

This will be the post where I am going to write any new updates for my ROM. First of all, welcome!
For mako's forums, this is a new ROM. But for Google+, it isn't. I have been testing it and releasing some builds in this private community, so make sure to ask to join for the latest info! I created this thread to let more people try my ROM, only now that I feel that it is in an almost perfect condition.
As as I said, my idea is to create a better stock ROM, and this is my target goal.
Another one of my target goals is to make the release of a new build almost automated. Right now, the compilation of the 6 devices build list is finishing, and is uploaded to basketbuild, using clever smart scripts. This also updates the changelog in my site, so I don't have to write a new post every time a new build is released. Everything should just work!
Speaking of releases, the ROM comes with an updater, so you don't even have to check the community or this thread for new links. But follow the pushbullet channel if you want!
I've been copy/pasting information for the past half hour, so this new thread is bound to have mistakes and inconsistencies. Let me know and I'll fix it!
Some other important points:
You have to flash SuperSU and GApps.
If you have a question, you should check out google+, in case it's there.
For the Devs: check my vendor folder, I have been developing some automation scripts which, I think, you will like!
I am an one man team, sorry for any slow responses.
Yes, this ROM is released for 6 devices, not mako or hammerhead only. You can grab the zips from Basketbuild. I haven't created XDA threads for the others (yet) because I don't own them, but I thought I should give a go at mako, since I owned the device before.
I hope you like the ROM!!!

Thank you very much for Krexus @KreAch3R , really love the stability, smoothness and simplicity...Krexy indeed! ?

Hahah thanks! Enjoy! :good::highfive:

Did a clean flash, stuck on bootloop. It's been on bootloop since last night. I will wait until I hear other people's experience with this ROM.

Hello! I'm sorry your first experience was bad. Please join the community so you can see other people's experience. Also, you can check the screenshots in DevDB to see that the ROM is booting.
Now, to troubleshoot. Did you try to flash only the ROM? If you did, check if your downloaded file matches this MD5: 8833b5804b786c6dbc4cc14f17b4486d And you don't need to let it one whole night bootlooping, stop it after 10min.

Many Thanks @KreAch3R!! I am downloading it again as I type. In the past I used to flash ROM, boot the ROM and then flash gApps. I encountered many FCs that way. Now I flash ROM and gApps(only playstore), opengapps pico to be precise. For previous ROMs it has worked, would you suggest flashing them seperately?
I will update this post in bit after the install. Hopefully it goes smooth!
Update: Perfect! booted up nice! Time to play around with it, Thanks again for this beauty!

Great! I hope you like it!
To answer your question: OpenGApps are definitely having SetupWizard FCing if you boot once before flashing them. I solve this by wiping data after the first boot.
I thought though that this happens with every GApps package on marshmallow (never tested it tbh). Isn't this the case? Which gapps have you flashed on Marshmallow roms that didn't do that?

None, I think they all do that. So far I tested Open and bAnks. Both didn't work when installed after booting the ROM.
The first time I was stuck on bootloop was because TWRP asked me to run Super SU script and I went ahead with it, this time I didn't run the script after ROM and GAPPS install. So far, I am liking everything. I still haven't had a chance to charge full battery and judge the battery stats but the performance and fluidity is spot on!

Ah, that's why. When you flash the latest SuperSU zips, they go systemless by default, so TWRP isn't detecting any SuperSU on system. TWRP is vey outdated on this front and Chainfire himself suggests never to press that button.
Regarding mako, krexus and a new battery

Great rom. Very smooth and bloat free.
2 things: i miss hide search from recents , the cm-style settings (redundant wifi / bt/ data switches at the top) are a jb/kk era throwback
Is the kernel based on Aldy's (minimal rom)? He has the best MM kernel for mako, in my testing.
Keep it up, all is well when the thread is quiet

Could someone tell me about this ROM? How is battery life?

After going through chroma, minimal, resurrection, fake, orion, back to minimal, chroma, and lastly Krexus.
I think I have finally quenched my flashing thirst with Krexus+Quanta v10. It's only been a day, so far its fluid, and battery is holding up pretty good. Minimal OS is pretty good as well I will admit but I flashed Krexus because the future of Minimal OS looked in doubt. Now that CallmeAldy is back at supporting Minimal OS, it will be a tough choice between Krexus and Minimal. :silly:

Hide searchbar is there, just in a different place. Look under apps--> default apps --> assistant & voice input --> show widget. That's where it is the perfect place for me. As for qs drawer, I don't want to move away from stock right now.
The default mako kernel is Aldy's marshmallow kernel, yes. Not AK, just the stock one he made so that a marshmallow ROM can boot.
I only include one in mako because it is needed. I go with stock Google kernels in all other devices.
& yeah, no news is good news in dev threads. It means no bugs

That is what I get from all my mako users too, that they have seen a greater fluidity and battery usage. You know how it's all personal etc, but I have heard it from all of them, so that's worth mentioning. I had a mako (now my brother's) and he says the same too.
My personal choice is Quanta as well. Perfect for my/his needs.
As far as choice, Minimal and Krexus are brothers (a lot of common code between us, as Aldy finds the time to update it and merge stuff). In some time, I suppose MininalOS is going to have a lot of krexus stuff and then some more, while I keep going the "better stock" way. So it's just about the ROM philosophy.

I'm loving this ROM, testing the battery life and enjoying so far. Just one issue that I noticed is tab style on Chrome it's not dettached in recents, it's like pre-Lollipop days.

I'll try it right now, but I can't find your custom setup for the stock of "Open-GApps" which you mention in the FAQs. I already applied to the Google+ Community, but I've to wait.
Thanks
EDIT: I found it, probably i misunderstood that this gapps package was personalized by you, hence I wasn't able to find it.
EDIT2: I flashed latest supersu 2.67, quantaV10 and nano gapps; So I may have problems with Layers because of supersu, right? that's what I understand from FAQs.

That's not a ROM's fault. Go into Chrome Settings and change it.

Which FAQs? I guess you mean both mine & Bitsyko's. This advice was given mainly to the newer nexuses (these are the ones over-reporting problems with systemless and layers). I have used systemless in the past and I had no problems. Right now, I have installed it on system (so it survives dirty flashes). You can do it in SuperSU settings.

I am using the ROM till morning and so far really great. I have only one wierd problem. Hangouts app is starting too long (compared to Chroma for example). I mean, on Chroma its like 2 sec, on Krexus its like 4 sec. Any ideas? I am using Quanta kernel.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

I had 3 problems after flashing this rom. First, the keyboard freezes and sticks on the screen when swiping. A temporary resolution was to uninstall the stock keyboard and download the Google keyboard from the play store. Second, sometimes the phone enters sleep mode and it doesn't turn back on. The menu and back keys light up when I try to turn the screen on but the screen stays blank. Third, the gallery shows blank content a few seconds after using it. Please look into these problems!

As was mentioned: gapps are probably to blame. If you're not using PA Gapps you should try those - mini modular package for example.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Second problem I haven't noticed - are you on stock kernel? I am using Alucard's as KT's is giving me problems with min/max values not sticking and getting stuck at a very low frequency on Carbon. Has great functionality like USB mass storage mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590246
Third problem not happening here either. You could try using Quickpic as an alternative, though. Best gallery available in my opinion.
Maybe try a clean flash with pa gapps and alucard kernel. That setup works like a charm for me.

I'm using stock kernel. I'm gonna try using the suggested gapps to see if everything will be resolved.
I also noticed the "adjust brightness using status bar" feature isn't on this rom. Will this be implemented any time soon?

awsome Rom
Been using Carbon Rom for a long time. This one is GREAT as usual.
Thank you for all the hard work.
Amazing rom. No issues at all so far which isn't to bad for an early nightly! Regarding GAPPS, I use the one from Broodplank's thread. Works perfectly.

With this t-mo build do you know if the wifi calling app is included? I have flashed a t-mo build to this Att phone a couple years ago and it worked very well with the wifi calling working. I may just have to give it a try and see for myself!

If you have the AT&T version then I have a few 5.0 roms over in the right section of development. Also have cm-12.0 in the original development section of AT&T devices. I am not sure about the wifi calling for T-mobile but I believe that all of my builds have wifi calling.

Yes, I have an att version- i717. I successfully flashed a tmobile rom with correct baseband changes when this phone was 6 months old-got it on launch day- and the official t-mobile wifi calling app was working.
I don't know of any other carrier that supports official wifi calling with your carrier number other than t-mo. Att is working on it, but it's still not out. Sometime in 2015 att will launch that official call over wifi with your att number. It comes in very handy when you are in a dead zone. Just turn on wifi calling and your phones works the same as over the 3g and lte connections, but on any wifi network with your native number.
I know voip over wifi works with 3rd party apps. Is that the kind of wifi calling you're referring to??
Either way, I will definitely check out your other 5.0 roms for the att Note. In the ATT side of development. My Note has been on the shelf for the past year or so!!!
Hi. I need help. I followed all the steps above but I can´t flash the rom. It always gets stuck at the goggle logo. I used CWM, because if I try WTRP I get a message error like " E:unknown volume for path. Any ideas? :crying:

You NEED to wipe everything except the sdcard & internal sd. Try that to see what you get?
No luck. Did all the wipes and nothing. I'm considering do a dirty install.
I get this message: error executing updater binary in zip "/sdcard1/candy5

Your recovery seems like it needs updated. I do not own this device so not sure which one will work. Do some research & see if you can flash my quincyatt roms to this device maybe? It has been done in the past & I keep those roms updated.

Im sure pollution is still around so maybe he would update things? If he isn't interest in this device any longer then maybe someone else could update his scripts, with permission from pollution of course.

I used CWM 6.0.4.3 and your version of TWRP 2.8.3.0 whit no success. Until I find a solution, I´m using the Beanstalk ROM. But I wonder if there is conflict with the kernel.

wgiddyup and nourmax64: I backed up my phone before flash the ROM. I wanna think you did so. If not, the only way to get your phone back is reflash the stock ROM with Odin. And then, if you want update your OS to KitKat, use the Beanstalk ROM, until we find a way to install this ROM.

Sorry about the TWRP mishap. My OP is a C&P from my quincyatt thread which has the twrp for that device. This device would need someone to update recovery for it.
Hello.
Any news on how to install this rom without any problems. I tried and got stuck on flying dots.
I would like to try this rom.
Thanks.

Unfortunately work has me very tied up lately and I have not updated this rom. Maybe you and some others can see about flashing my quincyatt roms to this device? It has been done in the past & I really have no time to look into this currently. You may be able to kindly ask @pollution for some assistance or insight on what needs to be done. I believe he was the Dev that made this possible in the past?

[ROM][CM12.1][5.1.1] Temasek UNOFFICIAL Build 10/26/2015

Hello,
Some of you may know me from the Mako forums as I built the temasek ROM (cm11) in the past. I am not a person to make elaborate OPs, so it will be simple.
First off, I would like to thank:
temasek
temasek's contributors
CyanogenMod
crpalmer
cristianomatos and his crdroid team
whoever else that contributed to the source code for temasek
@mrapp helping in testing cm12.1 ROM
This ROM is based off of cm12 with added customization and enhancements to temasek's and my liking. I will not be building every day, and I will upload ROMs as I feel. It will take longer for me to build since I will be using an older laptop to do the work. I need my newer one for other purposes. However, if a quick build with fixes need to be added, I will use my newer laptop for a speedy build. If there are bugs or problems, please let me know and do not complain about it since I am only sharing what I am building. However, I will do my best to get it fixed and as time permits.

GApps for 5.1: http://d-h.st/users/dhacker29/?fld_id=27426
To flash this ROM, you all know what to do. Flash ROM, gapps, etc. I am also not responsible for any damage that you may incur on your phone. Flash wisely and responsibly.
You may be able to dirty flash if coming from the official cm12 ROM or any cm12 based ROM. Backup is advised
Enjoy
P.S. If you would like to donate, please donate to temasek. I do not accept donations because I do this for fun and for myself. Don't spend on me, save your money
extras:
Since AudioFX doesn't really work, you can use DSPManager that is modded to work with the ROM (Equalizer visualizer breaks however): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934540373
Here are different files that make AudioFX work: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952592281
Also, if you want Nexus 6 ui sounds, you can flash that as well: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934540374
From the 4/17 build and on, it now can use Google's version of Webview. You should download Google's version of webview from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview. Sign up for beta versions here: https://plus.google.com/communities/105434725573080290360. Google's webview will be more up to date with fixes, security enhancements, and features
Thanks bro!
I loved Temasek's ROM for my Galaxy SIII. Glad to see you are bringing the goodies for our beloved Moto X. Much appreciated.

New build is up! There is a disclaimer: I took out the feature of linking the ringer and notification volume since it did not work. That being said, I am hoping that while doing so it did not break anything else. Please let me know if there are any bugs, typos, and/or mismatches and I will try to fix it (no guarantee). You can view this build as more of a test type, and if nothing bad happens, then it will make me (and you all) happy
Other changes are device specific things and some CM stuff. Enjoy
Edit: I am using a build that I've compiled that's a bit older than the uploaded one with the feature reverted. I haven't seen an issue, but perhaps it'll be different for some of you
New build is up! There aren't many changes since CM has been somewhat slowing down for now (hoping 5.1 is soon). I did remove the notification volume step since Ringer volume is tied with Notification volume. Some bug fixes, more blobs, and more kernel changes were added
New build is available. Only fixes and enhancements were added

new build. 4k recording is now back (I was able to select that option in Google Camera)
New build is ready to download. Not a lot was added, only keeping up to date with CM

Good News,
I'm Just waiting to get CM12.1 and reflash this, right now I'm playing with android 5.1

[5.1.1] [SM-T700] CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightlies for the Tab S 8.4 (klimtwifi)

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.0.x (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Instructions
First time flashing CyanogenMod 12.0 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s).
Install a compatible Recovery
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.

Edit: Super smooth and very pleasant to use. Thank you!
After all this time...
Been away for a while. Heard about the news and thought I'd stop by to congratulate you for the official release. I've been reviewing the threads and am frankly stunned at your attitude and work ethic. Thank you very much and I'll be sure to post if anything isn't up to snuff.
I am so glad to see this. Another great device saved from the buggy laggy touchwiz. Have been using the bliss cm12 with mine. I will flash this asap
Congrats on the official release! Is there anything we need to flash in order to get vibration for the capacitive keys working?
You just made my day. Rooted, flashed and looks great!
(finally no more touch wizz)
Congrats on your official release. I've been using CM12 unofficial since the first day I bought the Tab S. Runs buttery smooth ever since (it's been about a month or two). Still runs silky smooth, no lag and even better no touchwizz Just did a clean install to the new update.
Two thumbs up!
Same here, I think my tablet spent 30 minutes on stock before running your CM12. The official is even smoother, so really thanks a lot

Is anyone having trouble getting their tablet to go jump deep sleep mode?
I only have faux clock, bbs, es file Explorer, sleep timer and mx player installed. Exact same setup as the unofficial build a few weeks back
Clean install of the first official nightly. Faux clock underclocking to 900mhz and only having 2 cores running
Bbs tells me that it won't go into deep sleep mode with the screen off. It's sitting at the 250mhz frequency the whole time
Looking into kernel wake locks and I see its the PowerManagerService.Wakelocks that is keeping it up
Like I said, it's the same setup as last time. Tomorrow I'll test and see if faux clock is what is keeping it up but I can't see why it would
If there's certain logs that you would like me to collect during certain times. Please let me know

If partial wakelocks shows play.services it might be this.
BTW: why do you use faux clock? What advantages does this app has over Settings->Performance for underclocking?

Partial Wakelocks shows "SystemUpdateService" keeping my device awake for 9 of the 11 hours yesterday/last night. With some text under it that says "Google Services". Does this tell us what it is? All of my apps are updated. The Gapps package I'm using is called "gapps-lp-20141109-signed.zip". I don't remember exactly where I got it(maybe linked from the CM website back in November). It's the Gapps package I've always used.
I have tried a regular reboot. I could try a factory reset if you think that would do the trick, or do you think doing a clean wipe(again) with a new/different Gapps package is best? I'm about to investigate this SystemUpdateService thing and see if I can pull something up from Google searches
Edit - Oh, and I just use Faux Clock since it's what I've been using for a while now. On devices with a custom kernel it gives me a lot more options to tweak the kernel/performance and since CM12 hasn't always had a working Performance section(after you enable Developer Options), I've just continued using it on the tablet.
So far I have found this - http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/...ce-wakelock-on-cm11-m7-massive-battery-drain/

Sorry, run out of Thanx...
What you found is a bit older and 'bout cm11. This is something new or a regression to the old problem. I hoped to solve this by downgrading to an older bersion of gapps...
Would you please go to Settings->Apps->All->google play services and check what version it is? Thanx in advance.
What about hardware support? FP Sensor, Cam, Hdr, etc.? Is everything there?

My current version of Google Play Services is at 7.0.96
And right, that is an older issue, but there were some tips about using a Disable Service app to enable something that CM was disabling. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I'm hoping it will help out when I get a chance later today
Connected to bluetooth successfully but the sound very choppy. Is this a common problem?

Anyone else having issues auto updating the nightlies?
When it boots me into recovery, it fails to install the downloaded update and I have to then go back into recovery and install in manually.

Do you have the TWRP recovery installed?
The auto updating feature just creates a script that is loaded in TWRP and then tries to boot up into TWRP to run the script(aka dirty flash the nightly it just downloaded).
If you have CWM(like we've been using since before the official nightlies) as the recovery, then you can't auto update

Thanks for this rom! Just tried it out for my ol' nexy's sake, and I am plesantly surprised. I thought that P roms were too heavy for mako, but that doesn't seem to be the case. If you don't install gapps, it is definately smoother than oreo roms(without gapps), and it can be fairly compared to N roms with gapps. Options are abundant too. Love RR.
Thanks to @Cice96 for this rom! Surprised by the fact that there were still developers for mako. Please continue support, if you can! Thanks again!

Try the new build, some changes were made to the device tree and maybe your issue is solved.
Still using this ROM! Super thanks!
One bug report : Many Features(especially options that changes UI looks) with lots of options are little broken.
For example, when you choose one locksceen clock option, it doesn't apply correctly at first. If you choose another option, the previous option is applied instead of the new chosen option.
What I'm saying is ;If you choose option A, ther are no changes in the UI. If you choose option B after that, the UI changes to what option A indicates.
The only way to apply the chosen option correctly is to reboot.
It is not a big bug, but if you can fix it, I would be grateful.
Anyway, thanks for your commitment!

I also noticed that issue but I don't know if I will be able to fix it.

Ah, then it doesn't matter! Not a big bug anyway.
I am pleased with the new build. Glitches with gesture interface(especially the glitch when recent gestures acted like it was double tapped) are completely fixed.
Thanks a lot!
This rom is not dead, I'm just waiting for September sucurity patch to be added.
New build with latest security patch uploaded
Just for information, i managed to build Resurrection Remix Ten (Android 10), but it lacks so many features that i see no point in sharing it yet. Also the current version doesn't seem to have the latest security patches added yet, thats why i haven't update the ROM.
Thank you.

Thanks for still caring about this old and small guy. I love your work. Please update it time to time, don't let the development all die yet:crying:
