Official Linux kernel for Meizu Pro 5 smartphone (Exynos second wind) - Galaxy Note 4 General

Guys, I want to congratulate all, Meizu has posted the source code of Linux kernel for Meizu Pro 5. This means that the Note 4 (with Exynos Kernel) has a chance to become even much better. I ask all developers who are still developing kernel, please port something!
Meixu Pro 5 (M576) - GitHub

Wow that'd be really cool. @djmax81 any chance that you'd be able to cook that in your kernel??? I've seen in live action the Meizu pro 5 and it is an incredibly fast phone....

It's not even on the same SoC, so what are we expecting it to tell us? The 5433 files are pretty much the same as the stock Samsung ones - they even same the same typos in them.

Thanks for let us this know about.
Cool thing huh @RaymanFX hopefully it gonna be useful for you. :good: :good: :good:

Isn't the driver sources the one that is missing, not the kernel sources since samsung already provides it?

I heard what the developer of ultimate kernel said, that meizu made totally new termodriver, "meizu-thermal". Where Note 5 have throttling (1.1Ghz - 1.3Ghz) - Meiuzu stably keep 2.1Ghz and very rarely fall to 1.7Ghz. At same time this phone is warm but not hot. Meizu GPU work with disabled DVFS and it's frequency hold on max 772Mhz. Also Meizu has double tap to wake, and wake gestures that don't drain battery. With a similar hardware Meizu has 8-8.5 hours... So Meizu has much better software then Samsung.
p.s. uk developer bought meizu pro 5....

[Question] What is the possibility of CM 14 on the Zuk Z1?

I am planning to buy a Zuk Z1 which comes pre-loaded with COS 5.1.1 and still hasn't received COS 13 update; however CM13 is available and pretty stable. Now I'll buy the phone only if it receives CM14 sometime down the road. The phone has a Snapdragon 801. Is there a possibility that it'll receive CM14? I know it's hard to tell for sure but any seasoned people could make some gusses? Any help appreciated.
Personally I wouldn't buy this phone anymore, it's a decent device but you can get better phones for the same amount of money

The OPO should get CM14. It's backed by a very, very strong developer community. Also, why hasn't ZUK seen the likes of MIUI ported? It's already there for OPO.
I'm a crack flasher, so I love trying out all sorts of ROMs, but I'm inept at 'porting' ROMs.

Even I'd love to know about a better phone at this price point.
So zuk z1 will support android 7.0 right??
Sent from my Z1 using Tapatalk
A better phone at this price point may be the the Redmi Note 3 Pro. From what I can see the Redmi has better hardware, faster 64 bit CPU, better screen, cheaper. The ZUK has a better camera, no SD card (bad if you want to flash from SD card or backup to SD card) older CPU but still ok. Front fingerprint scanner is also a plus instead of rear on Redmi. Redmi runs MIUI and CM
If you have had your ZUK Z1 a while are you glad you got this and not the a Redmi note 3?
Right now we can't say anything about COS14 but if the devs at cynogen mod are concerned about this device they might release CM14 for us
but the question is In India during the launch of zuk z1 lenovo claimed that they will provide updates for this device and we did not get a single update up until now
so thankful to the devs at XDA for developing roms and continue the android cycle of this phone
and i hope they do so for Android 7.0
Calm down guys! ?? it will definiely get CM14, unofficial or official.

Dude i own redmi 3 pro and trust me it s not better. It s enough to say that xiaomi locked the bootloaders of their ****ty phones and unlocking bootloader is painful and takes weeks. also roms for redmi 3 are at the level lollipop.

So does zuk which comes with a great panel of 5.5 inch, 64 gb ROM. I haven t found a better phone for 200$. Sure Xiaomi redmi 3 is a good competitor but not the best

I agree. I have two major concerns:
1. Availability of CM14 on the device. If not official, then unofficial. The unofficial part is a little dodgy because there aren't A LOT of ROMs for the Z1 which are updated on a daily basis. The updates for a device also depend on how popular a device is among the developer community. I can't really say about the Z1.
2. The aging SD 801. How does it compare to the 64 bit 650?
Other than that, spec-wise, the 64GB memory and OIS wins it over the RN3 for me.

I think from this point is all about preferences. I prefer a large display with a good dpi and colors and 64 Gigs of rom on a marshmallow nuclear rom. Redmi 3 pro is worh it also but i m having it now on spacex rom lolipop waiting to unlock the bootolader
and maybe get a CM rom.

SO which phones are the best competitor to a ZUK Z1?
Yes bro it will receive cm14 officially from cyanogenmod not from android
I wouldn't recommend the ZUK Z1 to anyone. Btw, typing this from my Z1.
The phone and the hardware is great. It's the crappy Cyanogen that makes the phone trash worthy.
Cyanogen is upto its neck with bugs. I too was excited when I first bought the Z1 but now repent that decision after using for 3 months.
Again, the phone is great. The OS is crap.
Experimental buil 7.0 launched on one plus one ...so wait

Redmi 4X (3Gbvs vs Red Prime (3Gb

My prime was stolen recently, shame as I thought it was a slick phone, need buy another, though considering the 4x instead, it's slightly cheaper, a bit smaller (though still five inch screen), specs are similar, apart from very minor core / cpu differences. Prime HD screen apparently, res'* better though less battery due to this I presume.
Not sure about miui updates 9"etc /Nougat?
I have never used a 4x, any members with your preferences, knowledge and info'* so I make the right choice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Redmi 4x is just a lower budget and less powerfull than redmi 4 prime, but the battery is the same (or better) thant the 4 prime, since is 4100mAh. You can use it with no problems, miui 9 is receveing updates and it's on nougat (not planned to go to oreo tho). And we still do not have official kernel sources (if you are into kernel stuff).

Much thanks.
You think the screen resolution between the 2 makes much difference?
There is a red 5 out, Identical, on nougat, but only a 3000mhp battery.
I read Redmi prime does not update to nougat. Only redx can you confirm this?

what about kernel source codes? does ZTE generally release them?

i'm interested in buying a smartphone with battery AT LEAST 5000mah ... and there are not so many phones like that ( of course i need custom roms) apart from this nubia and zenfone 6.....

Me also interested, i have a Huawei Mate 20 X now with 5000mah. It's a nice phone, but the RM3 has no notch, a 90 Hz screen, more RAM and storage and comes with stock Android (is custom roms still needed then?). Only downsides for the RM3 is no NFC and lesser camera, both i use daily.
ah ok so they will release the sorce code for this phone do u think?
i really would love to see a great communty about this device
I hope so they release karnel for this beast smartphone. Because they release first time in many countries. And many people interested in. So u wait some days hope and Dev creat twrp and many custom rom this mobile
Karnel source for nubia red magic 3

Extreme Kernel v2.1 for Mi9? (Antutu 420000)

Do you have anyone the extreme kernel v2.1 for the Xiaomi Mi9? and also what happens with Extreme Kernel website?
Why don't you ask the developer instead of starting spamming, again, the forum?
If I'm correct, it was cancelled by the developer itself after a scandal due by the amount of kernels build for many devices, that the developer didn't had to test them by himself. This means that this entire time, he was building blindly and OC blindly as well, for all those devices..
You can find more info on twitter's account of Arter97, the recognized dev. who discovered and brought to the surface everything wrong with this stuff.

Arter is a good boy. Always working on f2fs.
BTW why people need that stupid kernel with high antutu score?

People seems to be so superficial sometimes, they base the performance of their devices on just numbers without knowing what the OC does to the CPU/GPU and the components in general, just to get those fancy numbers..
I need this kernel because in the last 2 months I'm using the extreme kernel v5 60hz and I have 10-15% better performance...yes on Android games my phone overheating but on any emulator for example dolphin, ppsspp, damonps2pro my phone isn't overheating with gaming and screen recording at the same time. Also on Android games through the Extreme Kernel Manager I choose lower GPU frequency (450 mhz) on these games and better cpu/gpu mods (for throttling at a higher temperature than normal) and I have supper stable gaming without framedrops. So I need in a few months the overclocked Snapdragon 855 with 30%, or the lowest 20% gpu overclock (blackshark 2) for emulators, for better content on YouTube (my name is Greece Mobile) and the comparisons with my future Laptop (gtx 1050, i7 6cores 12 threads). Also the overclocked Snapdragon 855 it has almost similar performance than the gt 1030 and also on my YouTube channel I will test on 2-3 weeks the Malakas Kernel, the most optimize kernel for the Pocophone F1 with 9400 geekbench score without cpu overclock and similar GPU overclock than the extreme kernel.
Overclocking should become a habit, especially as nanometres becomes smaller.

Not exactly.. This is my love and also I watch these videos since 2014, techutopia, unbox therapy and many others YouTube channels famous or not
Also just yesterday I discovered how I can play the only IR nunchuck + wii remote games like COD 3, COD Modern Warfare Reflex Edition, Moto GP 2008 and many other << unplayable >> Wii games and I am very happy ?
Great advertise...
Also, I wont tell you why OC on mobile devices is bad and didn't make sense over the last 5 years, you can search it for yourself, but yeah, this kernel/project is officially dead, at least that's what the "developer" said on his Telegram channel, if you found a backup/old ver. then great! But don´t expect updates soon..

That's how the vast majority of custom ROMs are built these days. More often than not the ROM devs aren't aware of bugs until users report them. Some devs build ROMs for devices they don't even own or for devices they do own but don't actually use.
This is especially the case with ROMs and kernels for OnePlus phones because devs don't use OnePlus phones but it happens with many other brands and models as well. Bugs are now normal and expected on "stable" builds of custom ROMs. That was not the case 5 years ago. Back then CyanogenMod was the only custom ROM that always had bugs--because they were building for so many devices they couldn't do proper testing.
I'm not sure why there would be a scandal because the Extreme Kernel was built like virtually every other custom ROM and kernel.

Yeah you're right, but it doesn't meant that it should be that way.
Building blindly is risky as always, and yeah, every time you flash something to your device , you're doing it by your own risk, but it doesn't mean that the developer can just overclock your CPU/GPU, fill a kernel with "gosht" features and call it a day.. Or even don't knowing that overclocking a cpu/gpu blindly, could lead to "kill" the device in a near future...
Btw, this wasn't the scandal from where he left his projects, it was a lot more behind, that's why I said that everyone should visit that Twitter account from before, to learn why everything from this particular kernel wasn't okay at all...

Can someone make good custom rom ?

Hey guys, it's a shame, that such powerful phone has no support, you can get this phone for 200$ 8gb ram 128gb rom variant currently for SNAPDRAGON 855 it's beastly deal, but it's because software itself is bad, not optimized. Can Someone port xiaomi mi mix 3 software there ? i think it's more suitable because of slide design? Or atleast do some fixes on current stock one ? Make lenovo great again!!
I think that's because this devices lacks of drivers
Why there's no activity?
developerrrrrr? thankssss
