Hello. At first, this problem doesn't exist on compiled AOSP ROM, it exists only on original ROM. I'm rooted and "busyboxed". I can't delete this app nor freeze, just nothing. I remember on N5 it was fine. Any idea?

have you tried using a root file explorer, like root explorer, to go to its location and delete its apk(then reboot)?

I tried to delete in Root Explorer, in TWRP, or to turn it off in app settings (and it should work, wtf!). I always got a bootloop after reboot.

Try the advice there. If you don't get a bootloop afterward, you'll know why.

Hi, I have been flashed the CM6.1, and just now i tried to use root explorer to install some modded widget by the putting them in system/apps method. But it doesn't work anymore. After i have put the .apk there, i go to the add widget page and i can't found that specific widget. It works perfectly when i am using my stock 2.1 rom. Can anyone give some possible solution? Appreciate it so much !
Do you set the permissions correctly?
Do you restarted the phone after past the apk in system/app?
I guess you have to reboot and then click on the apk through root explorer and select install also before they appear on the menu.

Oh yes. You guys have figured out the problem. I didn't set the permission correctly therefore it doesn't work.
I browse to where I downloaded the file from ES Explorer and click on the app, but I get that install failed? Any help? I like to use a stylus frequently, and with this latest ROM it is missing the input very frequently. I read that this app installed a setting or a switcher app to select between touch and stylus/

Likely you got install failed because it's a system app. That's my guess. Try this instead. If you have a way of using titanium back up on a device where tenderloinparts works, use Ti to back up the app. Take the back up files from that device and move it to your Oats one. From there, drop it into your Ti backup folder. Then have Ti restore the tenderloinparts.
System APK
Well, I didn't exactly follow your advice, but once you pointed out that it was likely a System App, I installed with Root Explorer by copying to \system\app and setting rights to -rw-r-r then reboot and now it works!

Hello,
I have stock jelly bean 4.1.1 installed with root. I tried to uninstall the AT&T Smart Wi-Fi app in the app setting, but it reappears after every reboot. Can't uninstall this in Titanium backup or other root uninstallers since this app is not listed there. Anyone know how to get rid of this permanently?
Thanks!

download root explorer, navigate to /system/app and find that apk, delete it and reboot... if you cannot find that apk in that location, try srearching in /system/vendor/app or in /data/app.. make sure that apk is nowhere in these locations... even if it found in multiple places, delete all occurances..

Great thanks Aingaran! I used ES explorer, mount the /system as read and write, delete the /system/vendor/app/SmartWifi.apk, now it is completely gone

I think the two APKs I need are exchange.apk and SEMCemail.apk. I have the second and was wondering if someone could provide me with exchange.apk from .254?

When I go to install the apk like a normal apk, by opening the apk in my file explorer and installing, it goes through the install screens, but then finishes by saying "Application not installed"
Unknown sources is checked and I have side loaded apks like this before successfully, what's the problem?
OOhhh, maybe it's because that's an odexed file. My rom is deodexed.
ignore, double post

System apps are not installed like normal apps. You need to root your device, put it in system/app and permissions rw-r-r- reboot to see it
(I'm already rooted)
Well here's something weird. I copied the files, went to system/app and it turns out the files are ALREADY there!
I check out the permissions and they're both correct. So I rebooted and it still won't show up. I opened Titanium Backup and looked through the apps list again there, there's no sign of it being on the system.
The files are there but apparently they're not!
Strange, move those file to data/app rw-r-r- and reboot and see what happens

Guys, previously i have no problem delete any stock apps using root explorer/fx explorer.
But since i updated to lollipop and install back root explorer, it seems like something has changed.
Previously i just need to go system > app > then it will appear full list of item installed on my phone.
Now when i entering it showing list of folder only, in the folder it just an apk only...
Please help...Thank you
Yeah, its normal, nothing to be stressed about.
You can just delete those folders.
Btw the stock apps are not only in system/apps
But also priv-apps
Hope this helps
Thanks for the suggestion.
But im wondering delete the folder doesnt mean it uninstall the apps right ?
Also, previously unsintall any apk doesnt required reboot, but now it need to reboot only it take affect.
