I just finished unlocking and rooting my 626s via this fanstic guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/help/complete-detailed-step-step-root-t3217505 thanks jtrosky
Anyway I kind of messed up and removed a lot of the default aps that came with the phone, I just had to do a reset and now I dont have a home screen or keyboard. This was my first time doing someting like this so I did not even create a backup/recovery.
I know how to correct the problem I just need a default ROM/RUU from another Canadian (preferably bell) service provider so I can reflash it onto the phone. I know that HTC allows you to down load other roms but they are all for american carriers and when I try to install them I get an error stating something along the lines of "invalid service id" details of the default build are as follows : Android version 5.1 and Firmware version 1.21.666.4.
If anyone could help me out I would greatly apreachate it, otherwise I will need to get a new phone because even tho is under warranty as soon as Bell sees that its been rooted and such they wont fix it.
PS hopefully I posted this in the right place I am a new member here.
Does it at least boot?
Edit: try flashing this in recovery (I'm assuming you have a custom one, preferably TWRP). It's just a Titanium Backup update zip with the Sense Home and keyboard apps. Let me know if it helped

Ya it boots into android with out any problem, I just cant getinto google app store to download anything because I can type anything. I am using CyanogenMod recovery as that is the one the guide suggested to use.
Edit: do I launch it via fastboot or load it unto the phone and run threw Cyanogen recovery?

Try downloading and flashing the zip I posted above
Put it onto internal memory and flash in cyanogenmod recovery
If that doesn't work but you're able to boot, just sideload/install Google keyboard apk like normal. You'll have to download the apk elsewhere since you can't use the Play Store for now

ok tried what you suggested and the phone spat out a whole bunch of errors which are listed in order below they all showed up red.
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E:footer is wrong
E:signature vitrifaction failed
Install failed
E:unknown volume for path [/cash/recovery/log]
E:cant mount cash recover log
I installed the file you provided in zip format into the main folder of the phone, unplugged from computer, restated phone, then selected the same as you would to run the root in cyanogenmod recovery.
is there something I am doing wrong or am I just plain screwed?
No you're not screwed.
I'm not familiar with CM recovery.. Can you disable those verification checks?
If not then try putting Google keyboard apk on your phone memory and installing it while booted. Use the file explorer, if you didn't delete that as well

ok will have to put default recovery on it first...with CM recovery installed the phone gets stuck at the part "verifying installed aps" but it boots normally if I reflash the default recovery. I dont know if that means anything to you or not.
EDIT: just flashed it to TWRP instead of CM recovery seams like TWRP is the preferred choice

What installed? It was supposed to install Sense Home launcher and Sense keyboard.
If they installed correctly then you should be good to go already. I can make a zip with the HTC file explorer but if your keyboard is working, you should be able to just download it from the Play Store

Hi,
I am having the same issue here.
I am missing the Setup Wizard so I can't get passed the connect to a wifi prompt.
Tried looking for a Canadian flashable zip..no luck. Tried flash your privous ZIP but I guess I am missing more that the launcher and keyboard to move on :/
I have a Titanium backup on my SD card but not as a ZIP and can launch into the OS without going through the Wizard.
Cheers

Has anybody had any luck flashing this variant of the HTC DEsire 626s with marshmallow... (Bell/ PC Mobile) Variant?
sorry to post this here but I have been looking for help on my mothers Desire 626s from eastlink. I really don't care what provider its on I just want to put a Stock Rom on it. it is currently on 1.24.428.4 firemware and the phone keeps asking to update to 1.30.428.3 and it cant. I put a stock Recovery back on the device and it will start the install then it will fail and give me a triangle with a exclamation mark. I have tried 5 or 6 different recoverys and the same thing over and over. I even went as far as contacted HTC and they told me since they DONT and I QUOTE DONT have a copy of the RUU for my phone they cant help me. so I turn to the internet and have been searching for weeks and I cant seem to find anyone who can help me out. so I hope some one here can. thanks

Hi and thanks for the zip.
I'm sure it would help alot. Problem is, I don't have a recovery and can't flash through fastboot because my Bootloader is relocked...
If you tell me where to unzip them, maybe I can extract them to the proper location on the phone?
I know a few months passed since your post but my xda account was linked to an email I no longer use...
Cheers

I'm stuck.
My phone boots to the welcome screen all the way to the wifi selection but stops after that saying the setup wizard cannot launch. So I cannot go into phone settings to "enable OEM unlocking" to follow the official HTC procedure for the bootloader unlock (which was once unlocked but is now relocked).
I looks like I have no recovery, because I cannot boot into recovery, it just fails.
If I go to (what I thought was) Download/Fastboot mode and try to Fastboot flash twrp for example, it says: FAILED (remote: cannot flash this partition in s-on state) ----> but I then read that this was because I was NOT actually in Download Mode.
So I think I managed to get to Download mode and tried the Fastboot command to flash TWRP again and now it says: FAILED (remote: 9: SD_SECURITY_FAIL recovery and bootloader isn't BL_UNLOCK).
I suppose it means that my Bootloader isnt unlocked...but as mention initially, I cannot access the OS and enable the OEM unlocking toggle.
Since Fastboot isnt working, I dont know if an RUU would work.... And look like I will never know because everytime I launche the EXE file, it extracts, asks me to to accept the conditions, then nothing happens...
Please help!!

I am replying to myself. After trying several things on the phone, I went back to the OS's setup wizard. The second step (2 steps before the crash), has some text and one has a clickable link saying "learn more". It actually opens some phone settings, and from there, you can access all of the phone settings. So I was able to activate Dev mode, OEM unlock and debugging without going through the Wizard!!
Followed the BL unlock procedures on HTC website and as soon as it was unlocked, phone rebooted and TWRP reappeared! I'm saved!!
Thought I would share my discovery in case this ever happens to you too.
I also discovered another possible course of action. When accessing the same "link" to get to settings, go to the network settings and put the phone on Airplane mode. Go back to the setup wizard and skip the connection to wifi. I think it will skip the part of the Setup that made the OS crash.

Hello. I am new to this forum. I did do searching before I came here. I am sort of a noob so sorry for dumb questions. I wanted an MIUI theme on my phone. I tried MiHome but it doesn't change the UI so I want to get the MIUI ROM on my phone but I wasn't sure how. I know you have to root your phone first, but I read somewhere that MIUI isn't compatible with different rooting procedures like CyanogenMod. If thats true, which one is it compatible with? Is it possible for me to get MIUI on my phone? I have an HTC Vivid (of course) with Android ICS 4.0.3. Can anyone provide me with a guide on how to do get MIUI on my phone, preferably a video with a step-by-step description (yes, thats how noobish I am). Also, what are the odds of me rooting my phone if I follow the steps exactly as told? Sorry for a ton of questions. To sum things up, I would like to get MIUI ROM on my phone but have no idea how. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Alright....you need to do ALOT of reading...I only say that so you don't brick your phone...but here's some info as well as how to get miui
It doesn't matter how you root your phone, you can still flash any Rom...you don't even need to be rooted to flash roms
Cyanogenmod is not a rooting method, it is an aosp rom...you cam flash from cyanogen but our device doeant even have a cyanogenmod Rom (well there is one but it was discontinued...for now)
In order to get miui you will need to do the following:
1) unlock bootloader
2) get recovery
3) download miui onto your phone (can't be any miui...has to be one made for our phone...you can find it on rootzwiki.com)
4) flash miui
More detail:
In order to unlock bootloader and get a recovery I suggest using Hansen vivid toolkit that is stickier in the dev section...its the easiest most newb friendly way to unlock bootloader and get a recovery...for the most part all you do is plug in your phone and click a few buttons...here's the toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1498003

I guess I'm forced to use my slow PC. Hopefully it won't shut down in the process or else I'll be screwed. :/ Thanks again! I'll let you know if it works out if you want.
Just some ideas , if your pc is slow you can download and of the files you need on your phone then transfer them over to the pc , also if you download the tool kit you shouldn't need anything else but the Rom , if you get s off you will need to do a couple of things , but as mg said do some reading on this subject to kinda get an idea as to what your working with , make sure you kinda understand it so you don't brick your ph. Better safe than sorry .
Good luck and if you have questions there is a lot of good people here and would be glad to help.

Help! I managed to root my phone, which is good. I am currently using WCX. I am not sure how to flash the rom. I tried going to my internal sd card and installing the miui zip file from there. After it reboots my phone, an htc logo loads, then it takes me to some chinese. It has like big chinese words on top in red, then in the middle it has white words, and in between the white words, it loads from 0 to 100 but I have no idea what to do now. It just leaves me stuck on this page! Can anyone help me? Do I need to uninstall the rom then follow a correct process of installation or can I just do the correct process? Also, please don't redirect me to some page, because I did a lot of googling and I found one which would help me, but the site is down. I am sure it isn't a long process. This is what I did:
1. Manually put the zip file into my internal sd card.
2. Rebooted my phone to recovery.
3. Installed the zip file, which flashed the rom.
Is that correct? Can someone please help me! Thanks!

I tried what you said. I am using the All In One tool kit that someone told me to use so I flashed the kernel (boot.img) through that, assuming it is fastboot. I then rebooted my phone to recovery and selected the zip file, it flashed it. I rebooted my phone and it still takes me to that chinese screen. Is there a different MIUI ROM zip file download? I used this one: androidfilehost.com/main/HTC_Holiday_Developers/rafyvitto/MIUI_ICS_V4/
Maybe a different file would work? Thanks in advance!

With the ROM I used, since I am S-On (which I assume you are too since you did not do the wire jump thing from what I read) after you initially flash the boot.img file using fastboot, you need to flash the rom, which you said you did. Then go back in and reboot to bootloader, and flash the boot.img again. It may have been just specific to the Rom I used, but that is the instructions I followed for mine. I hope you made a nandroid before you flashed Miui in case you ran into these troubles....
Hi everyone,
first timer here. Just received my very first Android phone, an International HTC One (I'm in Sweden)
I successfully went through the process of unlocking the bootloader, rooting the phone, when I ran into the problem of not being able to install busybox, and it seems that was because I first needed to disable system write protection.
The only thing I could find to this effect was a link on this forum to a zip for the Sprint HTC One that was meant to fix specifically this issue. I tried installing it using the recovery, and now my HTC is stuck at the HTC logo when trying to boot. (although I am still able to enter recovery)
What should I do? is there anyway to "uninstall" the mischievous zip?
here is the link to the thread where I downloaded the zip:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236849
Thanks for the help!
***Just realized as well that when I go into team win recovery and select reboot to system, it says that No OS is installed!***
Needs to be moved to international HTC one forum, this is the sprint forum.

DL a compatible ROM for you device, then download Hasoon's tool, in the Dev section here and the international forum...simply sideload your compatible ROM...
Where are your back-ups, before flashing anything you should always to a BACKUP IN TWRP OR W.E. you use!

TWRP is working fine, I just dont know how to go further. Your expert advice will be much much much appreciate. Thank you all for any advice (newbie terms)

Thank you for the prompt reply. Well I follow the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718150 instruction. I successfully completed to
- Unlock bootloader from htc dev, - donwload and Install Custom Recovery TWRPand - download and install SuperSu from TWRP link. But I missed to complete the S-off step (don't ask me why I didn't do it I really don't know why). Then I followed the steps in the following guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386703 but when I typed :am start com.redbend.vdmc/com.htc.omadm.test.TestMainActivity nothing happened (I think it was because I was not s-off). So on other posts, (don't recall which of the thousands I read) I download the Sprint_M8_HK_Stock_Rooted_3.30.654.2_Deodexed.zip and using TWRP I tried to load it into the M8. Process was ok, but now when I turn on the device android will not run showing the screen above attached. Any ideas how to fix android and manage to sim unlock it? (newbie advice is much appreciated)

The second thread you followed that gave you instructions to use the am start command is for the m7. It didn't work because the command isn't leading anywhere on the m8. As for the bootloop, are you sure you flashed the right thing? That is rom is for the Harmon Kardon m8. Can you post a fastboot getvar all (without your serial no and imei)?
no luck

Now, with the m8 in the recovery menu (other ways are not recognize by the pc) for fastboot getvar all it says <waiting for device> (please see attached images -0 i erased th final 4 digits of the serial). device manager in My PC shows the phone is connected correctly (please see attach image) but I dont know why it will not answer the fastboot command. Anyways thank you for any advice

Hi all. I recently bought an m8 sprint and I have been trying to sim unlock it but until now I have failed :crying: I manage to root the device and I tried to load an android version which I read help to the sim unlock process but now Android will not load at all (see image attached). I also read I should be s-off but for that I download an apk file which I think I can install it as long as I have android working but the device are not loading android so I can not manage to s-off it. TWRP is working fine, I just dont know how to go further. Your expert advice will be much much much appreciate. Thank you all for any advice (newbie terms)

Hey man, it's pretty easy. Download this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=9599 it is important that you use this specific file. Don't trip cause it says harman, it's safe to flash on your device.
After you downloaded follow this instructions.
1. Install WinRar, or 7zip.
2. Open the ROM in either of those programs (don't extract, just open it)
3. Navigate to system, then app, and there you will have to drag and drop the 2 files I have attached.
4. Let WinRar or 7zip save the file (It may take a while 7 - 10 minutes) BE PATIENT.
5. Transfer the modded ROM to your phone
6. Flash in TWRP (Make sure you wipe system partition)
7. Reboot to the system, complete the config wizar
8. Follow the steps to unlock (am.start....... etc.)
9. Enjoy
****** I WANT TO POINT OUT THAT S-OFF IS NOT REQUIRED TO SIM UNLOCK YOUR DEVICE ******
I have made a ton of these and NEVER had to S-Off
If you encounter any issues let me know.

Hey my friend. The thing is that the stock rom doesn't bring the 2 apks required to unlock. So you actually have to push them to your phone. The easiest way is to add them to a custom rom to set the permissions automatically. The other way around is to root the phone, put the two files into the system/app folder and then manually set permissions. If you prefer just follow the instructions I sent on my earlier reply.
Cheers!
android is back to life!

thank you for your directions. good news Android is back to life again, bad news is that sim is still locked, I tried again from terminal emulator the (am.start....... etc.) but I got an error (please see the attached image). I follow all your steps very carefully, the only thing I had to do differently was that I put your attached files in the zip file using windows zip program and it did take a long time to finish (like 30min) I did try with winrar but it keep creating a new small file with just those 2 files. Is it possible that the 2 files were not added correctly?
Thank you for any advice on how to unlock it
going crazy
update: last night I tried the unlocksim.zip file and installed it on my device with TWRP, and then used the method with the the terminal emulator (am ...) and with the sim unlock helper too, but both send me the vDM client has stopped. I read it could be solved with insert coin system, so I go ahead and installed it, but still get the same message. Any ideas?

Hey man, I fotgot to tell ya, you have to be on JellyBean or KitKat for the sim unlock command works. I have tried pushing the files on Lollipop but it always got me force close, so it's better to flash a KitKat rom....
This is what I can do man, I will upload my modded ROM and send you link. Don't give up man.
EDIT: I forgot to ask, did you get the hidden menu where you tap API then SIM LOCK? Or couldn't you get there?
I was thinking about the same thing

EDIT: For the sake of time and my bandwidth. Can you try the steps I sent you yesterday but using 7zip instead? Please try, right now I have uploaded 100MB/1.5GB so imagine...

Hey guys, I am having the same problem. Unlocked, rooted, s-on. I tried installing the bad boys 2.1 mod you recommended on the first page, after swapping in the new files, and it still freezes at the HTC one screen. I did a factory wipe before the install as well. I am using a NON HK M8, however I thought that bad boys worked on either. Please let me know if I am incorrect in that aspect.
I am in a similar situation as I purchased this phone and now live in the Caribbean, sprint is blocking my new gsm carrier. What a headache sprint is.
Thanks in advance

Ok, I downloaded the file and installed it, but it freezes at the htc one screen. Is it possible that the firmaware version needs to be updated? other idea: On your #19 you say it is possible to push the 2 files directly once the system is running, is there a way we can try that?
Have you tried wiping system partition before flashing? What version of TWRP are you using?

Alright my friend. Try the same, wipe system partition before flashing. And what version of TWRP are you using?
I manage to do it
jacnsa said:
ok, finally did it! wipping the partition did the trick and it finally worked ! Well its not a good news at all. Bad news is that even after entering :am start com.redbend... which this time worked and bring me the API menu and then after selecting Sim unlock (and nothing happened). reboot the phone and then entering the *#*#4636#*#* menu and seleccion wcdma prefered still nothing happened. I reboot and again entering the *#*#4636#*#* menu it appears to be again selected the CDM/EvDO.... option, once again selecting WCCDMA preferred and again nothing. I think it is strangethat after rebooting the system the original band appears again to be selected. I am attaching some images which I think can be some kind of help.
Any clue on how to achieve the unlocking will be much appreciated...

Hey, I am trying to revert my HTC desire 510 to stock, i do not have a backup. I found files on the htcdev.com and thought they were Roms (easy catch). Unfortunately they are not. I don't even know what to do with these files in order to get my ROM in place.
My device is a 64bit, was running UK Vodafone rom. i need to get that back on. Need help here...
That up there, old...... I got the solution, thanks to the developers that helped me. Am now posting the links here. Choose which your phone is based on. The link includes different RUU's, not only that of Vodafone.
https://mega.nz/#fm/95YHUAQT
i have been told that the upper link doesnt work, try this...... https://mega.co.nz/#F!3Zo10Zya!-NbM_2RWWecFlc5mH9bLbA
I did not upload anything, so i will not take credit for that job. On the other hand, i will take credit for widely sharing. (Easy Find)
Best way of downloading is having the Mega downloader app on your computer.
Tested and approved for share. I thank all the developers out there. FYI, the RUU's do not exist on the htc.com/uk site. I do not know why. Those of x86 have theres on htc.com/us site.
Hit THanks
ADDITION
The HTC Desire 510 x64 Rom has been debloated, thanx to the developers that have been working on this.

HOW TO INSTALL:
What is changed?
Not much is changed.
Bellow are the app replacements I made:
1. Sense Home ---> NOVA Launcher
2. Sense Messages ---> Google Messages (Material Design)
3. Sense Calculator ---> Xlythe Calculator (Material Design)
4. Sense Calendar ---> Google Calendar (Material Design)
5. Sense Clock ---> Google Clock (Material Design)
6. Sense File Manager ---> ES File Explorer
7. Sense Weather ---> AccuWeather
4. Sense Keyboard ---> Google Keyboard
He removed a lot of HTCs and Google’s useless apps and other things, that are taking up space and resources.
From Google apps you have left:
1. Google Play Store
2. Google Chrome
3. Google Play Games
4. Google Drive
4. YouTube
5. All other background apps and services that are required for the Google apps to function properly.
From HTC apps you have left:
1. Camera app
2. FM Radio
3. Gallery (I couldn't find a decent replacement)
4. Music
5. Photo Editor
6. LockScreen
He removed the HTC Browser, Zoe, E-mail and other useless stuff from HTC.
He has included:
1. Clean Master Lite - It's much faster than the full blown app and gets the job done. Lots of people hate it but it works like a charm on this device.
2. DiskInfo - With this little app you can see all of the partitions on your device. Regardless if you are S-ON or S-OFF.
3. Glim Lite - A set of beautiful Material design icons for NOVA launcher.
He didn't include an E-mail app because the Play Store is full of them and I couldn't choose. This choice is up to you.
How to install it?
First of all you need an unlocked bootloader with a TWRP - custom recovery installed on your device.
To unlock your bootloader go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/desi...e-510-t2910233. Follow that tutorial to get your bootloader unlocked. After a successful unlocking you'll need a custom recovery.
Download this file: https://dl.twrp.me/a11ul/twrp-3.0.2-0-a11ul.img. This is the latest TWRP recovery for our device. Now we need to flash this file on the device:
Before starting put the contents of the ZIP file on to your SD card. And make sure that it has this folder structure:
Code:
--SD CARD
--TWRP
--BACKUPS
--Your device serial number (The name of this folder should be the serial number of your device otherwise TWRP won't see the backups in this folder)
--2016-04-17--13-49-21_KTU84L_release-keys (Don't change this, I don't know what will happen if you do)
All you do is replace the downloaded backup with your backup, 1st delete your files..... DO NOT REPLACE THE FOLDERS, ONLY THE FILES IN THE LAST FOLDER
1. Power off your device by pulling the battery out and putting it in again.
2. Press the Volume Down and Power Buttons until you see the HBOOT screen.
3. Press the Power button again to enter Fastboot mode.
4. Connect your phone with your PC using an USB cable.
5. Now open your terminal (I'm using Ubuntu but it's same in Windows as well) and type:
Code:
fastboot devices
This will show you an output like this:
Code:
--your devices serial number-- fastboot
If it doesn't show you an output like that then you probably didn't install the drivers correctly or you have a faulty USB cable.
If your output is the same as above than we can move on.
This command will flash the TWRP recovery on your device:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery /full/path/to/the/recovery.img
Example:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery /home/denny/Downloads/twrp-3.0.2-0-a11ul.img
Now you have TWRP on your device.
To boot TWRP press the Power button to go back to the HBOOT screen and navigate to the RECOVERY option with the volume keys and again press the Power button. After a few seconds you'll see your new recovery.
Restoring the backup
First we need to wipe any potential data that will cause conflicts with the new system.
1. Tap on "Wipe"
2. Tap on "Advanced Wipe"
3. Select all but leave the Micro SDCard option unchecked.
4. Swipe the slider to wipe the data.
After that is complete press on the house button on the lower end of the screen.
Now we are going to restore the backup:
1. Tap on the "Restore" button.
2. At the lower left corner tap on "Select Storage" button.
3. Choose "Micro SDCard" option and press OK.
4. Now you should see the backup folder. Open it.
5. Select "Boot" and "System" and swipe to start the restoring process.
6. Press "Reboot System" after the restoring has finished.
After you setup you system, remove the battery again, launch in to recovery and flash this boot.img

Could you advice me on how to apply this after after rooting my device. Will this lock my carrier again. I am actually on a different carrier, but they can't detect tethering because I bought the phone from vodaphone.

Any time, yes... the version is 1.51.161.10. It doesnt lock the operator, your phone is just based on the Vodaphone make but you are able to use any operator. Iam in Uganda and i use the phone for Airtel. The Vodaphone part of it all is to jst show who the makers or promoters are in this case. But all that is Bloatware. I have updated my Blog and added the necessary links that you are intrested in, and how to install. (Debloated rom)
in this case am assuming you have x64 based HTC.
Sorry for the delay in the response this time, I went offline yesterday.
That rom is a '.exe'. this means you will have to ran it on ur windows computer and all u do, is insert the phone when you are asked to, and let the computer do the rest.
If you need further help, dont hesitate....especially when it comes to flashing the fdebloated version, the developer of that version is not replying, dont know why

Many thanks, you have been very helpful,
So all I have to do is download the Vofaphone ROM and run it on my computer after my phone is rooted? Do I need to make sure that boot loader is locked and any other precautions I should take? I wish to unroot the phone afterwards and leave it as the vodaphone version.

No, no need for relocking the boot loader, just go a head and insert your phone as it will tell you too Just make sure you have battery of around 50%+.
your wish will come through to unroot the phone, but trust me.....it is boring. the debloated rom is far much better when it comes to performance. the phone is actually smoother and you get space for other applications. What i did with my phone, i installed the debloated, added a memory card of 8gb, partitioned it so that i can push some apps to the phone..... but hey, anytym......You need more help..... dont hesitate.....will be right here.

When you are flashing a RUU, you need to unroot the phone, install the stock recovery and relock the bootloader before you start the install process. The errors above tell you that you haven't done something from the things I mentioned.

I installed the recovery I made using philz touch. I believe I am now unrooted. I was told by Zubaggy that I don't need to relock boot loader. How do I do that anyway?

When you run the RUU the installer expects the phone to be in original shape. That is way it gives our errors when it detects a custom kernel or a custom recovery.
This is the stock kernel:

This is the stock recovery:
https://mega.nz/#!uMQ0ETpB!5YLSOjAHGfDMCrDHIN3smSTjPI35LcD1wSJf4BZ6Luc
Flash them using fastboot and after that relock the bootloader and try the RUU again.
If you have any questions please ask.
EDIT: You can relock the boot loader using the command: fastboot oem lock

Thanks Danny for your fast responses I have been responding to you in my thread but would like to keep it here.
Philz touch is installed on my system and I don't know how to remove it.
Which should I flash first the stock kernel or recovery.
Surely I can't use recovery while I have one already, what if I install the stock recovery and then I haven't got a back up file.
What commands do I need to enter in CMD to flash those files.
Thanks.
Hello,
I am new to this website and if I make any mistakes I sincerely apologize.
Anyways, I have HTC Desire 626s running on T-Mobile USA and I have it rooted. I saw a post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...-flashable-stock-htc-626s-debloated-t3293602/ about HTC Desire 626s Phones on Sprint with a debloated Rom. Now the bloatware on my phone makes me very angry as I only have a few MBs left on my phone. I'd like to know if there is a Rom for Desire 626s phones on T-Mobile that has the bloatware removed. I do have Root and an unlocked bootloader. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
I second this.
I highly recommend the AdvanceStock ROM that's being worked on by @sandix. It also adds really amazing performance tweaks that give your phone insane battery life and all round performance.

My ROM should work on T-Mobile, but will manually need apns.

Ooh yes, you'll need the APN info to input manually.

This is pretty much exactly what I am looking for, however I can't install any roms or anything anymore because I can't get into recovery mode lol. Just gives me the red triangle and then reboots me. This rooting and unlocking thing use to be stupid easy. Now I can't even OTA update my phone because I can't get SuperSU or whatever to unroot my phone. Ugh lol.
So I reflashed the Cyanogen recovery file because even after I flash the TWRP recovery file, it will NOT open TWRP recovery for me. It simply kicks me back to a normal boot. However, when i try to run this through the Cya recovery, it fails and tells me a entire list of stuff. Footer is wrong, Signature verification failed, so on and so on. About to just go return this phone and get another one to start over lol.

AdvancedStock was made with TWRP, so it will not work on CWM.
Try installing TWRP again from one of the stickies in this sub forums. It should work, make sure the bootloader is OEM unlocked (Via fastboot) and that you are flashing an .IMG file, not .ZIP file.

You shouldn't need to take the phone back. there's a thread for the AdvanceStock ROM with a link to download the factory image flashing application (RUU). That will take your phone back to in the box state.

sorry to bother you
i know this is off topic but can you upload a dump of your rom image by any chance? my phone broke when i tried using root toolbox
and i can't get ruu working
my phone is also a T-Mobile htc desire 626s
i can still use recovery though so all i need is a working rom image.
i'll help if i can in removing bloatware from the rom image
and i'll send the copy with the bloatware removed,
it might take me a week though to read up on modifying the rom image
because i don't want to make mistakes
i mainly just need to know how to extract and repack the rom image, i have no problem removing the junk apps in the directories.

i can send a copy with the bloatware removed all i need is the system image so i can fix my phone
after i fix my phone then i'll remove the bloatware from my phone and send you the system image with the bloatware removed
it'll take roughly 2 days and i'll make sure to upload it to my google drive and send you a link,
i just need a system image so it can be done.
