My phone is absolutely stock. After using it sometime the phone would switch off randomly. But you could turn it on. Today the phone turned off like usual and wouldn't turn back on.
It vibrates 3 times randomly and when I press the power button but there is nothing on the scree. Any advise?
i guess there is something wrong with battery?

I don't think it is the problem with the battery. Because when I was able to turn on the phone the battery was fully charged. But it keeps turning off by itself.

After fully charging my phone, I unplugged it. A few hours later, I tried to wake it by pressing the power button. It would not turn on. I tried to plug it in figuring some app was draining the battery but the charge light (the upper right on corner) never lights ups. I pull the battery and left it that way for about a day. I put the battery back in then the phone starts to work again. This has happen about 3 times so far. So, is my Nexus One dying?
I wouldn't start worrying straight away. I've had this happen once and I think it's caused by a rogue or stuck app that drains the battery. I didn't change any apps after this and haven't had it happen again so I concluded it was a one off. The reason the charging LED didn't appear is probably because the battery was completely dead and simply needed longer to get a decent charge in it.
power button going bad maybe ?

It was 38% charged when it started to work again so it wasn't totally drained.

If it is a bad power button, why didn't it light up when I plugged it to be charged?
my old battery has bad conductance.. at times the phone never starts up.. so I clean(just wipe wid a cloth) the connectors and then everything works fine...

Battery is dead...
I turned on my Tab this morning. All seemed correct.
After it was running for about 5 minutes, the screen went black.
I tried to restart with no success. It acts like a hardware problem.
The battery was fully charged. It has not been rooted. ITS DEAD.
When I plug in the charger, nothing happens, the green battery showing that its charging does not come on.
Any one have any thouhts on the matter?
Thanks.
Look like hatdware failure. Return for repair.

I just left the T-Mobile Store.
They showed me how to do a Master Reset...
HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN BOTTONS. PRESS AND HOLD THE POWER BOTTON. It will reset.
Everything is fine now.
Wooot! That is good news and a good to know procedure.
Hi
So I have an Acer Netbook, the D620.
Earlier, I closed the laptop (not shutdown)
and as usual the CPU lights went off with the power light flashing indicating standby.
After an hour or so, I saw all the lights except the WiFi one were on, (power CPU and Ram) . When I opened the lid of the laptop, it didn't come out of standby mode. Just a black screen
I did what any Android user would do. Pulled the battery. It rebooted fine.
This has happened like 5-6 times now. Any ideas?

Reinstall Windows(or Linux or whatever you have on there). Works every time.
What you have to do is smack the keyboard really hard at least 2 sets of 10 times. If that doesn't work, then you have something running in the background, which makes your laptop wake up. When you open it, just wait a minute and it will turn on.

I waited for an hour. Nothing happened.
That was your laptop going from sleep to turned off. if that happens again dont just pull the battery, just press the power button and hold it for about 10 seconds. once its off just press it again to turn on.

It doesn't go from sleep to turned off. It goes from sleep to lights on but blank screen mode.
I need it to stay in sleep because overnight it switches itself on and by morning I have 10% battery

then there is something that prevents it from turning off or hibernating. Go to your power settings and make sure that there is nothing like turn off after 1 hour of being in sleep mode or something like that. Why arent you turning it off or putting it in Standby mode? Standby still resumes fast.

Sometimes I'm in a hurry and I can't put it in standby. I'll see the power thing though

You can use the power settings and tell the laptop to go into standby when you close the lid.
And make sure you have hybrid sleep mode disabled.

I was using my atrix and put it down went to get something to eat came back 15mins later and it wont turn on! It was at 56% battery! So i plug it in and the green LED turns on but I can't do anything. I have pressed the power button, and I have pressed the power and volume down together both for 10+ secs and nothing is happening please help!
Ever get it back on? My battery drained to 1% last night, so I shut it down, charged it all night, and now mine wont turn on. Has the green light just like yours.

I had to reboot mine in to flash mode in order for mine to come back up. I had to hold the down volume (or up cannot remember right now) + power for a minute nearly. Then it rebooted correctly into normal mode.

So I ended up calling AT&T and they went ahead and shipped me a new MAHD.
I took the dead phone to work and tried charging with my work charger, and now it works! When it finally turned on, the battery level was at 3%. So lesson learned: Do not let your battery drain to 1%!

I am having the same problem. I can get the boot screen up if i hold the buttons in at a certain time while the phone is plugged in and attempting to turn on. however, the phone cuts out no matter what and repeats the cycle even with the boot screen up. during the few seconds i can get the boot screen up, i'm unable to select an option, only scroll up or down and highlight them. then the phone cuts out and 20 secs. later attempts to turn on again but never gets past the motorola icon. Any suggestions? I originally thought it was the battery so i ordered one and installed it correctly and charged it, but still the same thing is happening. When plugged into a pc, charge light comes on but phone won't attempt to turn on....?????????

Our phone doesn't receive power from the cable until it's fully booted. Factory cables are a good work around.

I have the same problem.
I think it's impossible to fix.
I tested with original charger.
I have also tried every possible button combinations.
and does not start
Has anyone been able to fix it?
Today my D3 rebooted unexpectedly. After the reboot, the phone didn't turn on, and I connected to energy to make sure that it wasn't a battery problem. When I connected it, it tried to boot, and I left it, but when I came back, the phone was fully dead. Doesn't turn on. The battery is OK, I put it on a Motorola Bravo, and it showed 60% charge. I have a Factory Programming Cable, and I connected it to the phone, but neither this way the phone did turn on.
I don't know what to do, it seems that is a hardware problem . When I put the battery, the phone heats a lot
Any ideas?

Wish I could be the one answering but I'm writing to chime in that the exact same thing happened to me today. Same thing re my battery. The only thing I'd add is that it did have trouble booting up for no reason 2 or 3 days ago, but I took out the battery, waited maybe 20 minutes, and she rebooted okay. I called Verizon, and wouldn't you know that I'm 3 days out of warranty. They wouldn't budge to let me get a replacement under warranty.

The volume key one yes, but not x/m.
I am having the same problem. How did it turn out for you? And what is the x/m ?

With the phone powered off, slide the keyboard open. Hold down "X" while powering on to access the boot menu. I can't recall what holding down the "M" key while powering on does, though...

Seems to be permanently bricked. Gone back to my old Imagio running Windows Mobile 6.5. Good phone, but slow for today's standards, outside of HTC Sense not finger-friendly and, of course, I don't have access to apps. Going to wait out my Vzw contract and then very likely get a SmartTalk account using an unlocked GSM phone.
The x/m refers to an alternative hard reset method. Hold down both of those keys along with the power button.
