Dear all Developers,
I am using samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 phone.
I Have tried many roms which are there in developers forum list. like Cyanogenmod 7.2, S'Perience rom, SII and others.
Some how I compare this all with the original stock rom I feel the stock is better.
Please note following points which I like to use in phone.
1) It should be fast enough.I know the CPU 800mhz is less but i will like to use most of it with good battery life in my view I feel no change in stock & custom roms
2) Themes, I am getting new ICS Or JB themes in custom roms but that all I get with Holo launcher & ADW launcher without flashing custom roms in stock which for me is fine.
3) I missing Samsung All Share play in custom roms. I need that preferably as I am using my LED TV to view media from my phone over wifi very easily.
4) In some of the custom roms doesn't have Radio apps. I also need this as am using it often. It is there in S'Perience rom but it is very similar to one which is in stock so no need to change as I Feel.
5) Last as I am using my phone very much in terms of calling & messaging through out the day. for that I need very fast running dialer & messaging UI. I had seen the JB dialer which I don't like. S'Periance is looks good but lags in continuous use. Any better option will be appreciate.
I don't want to disappoint the devs as they are working very hard, gr8 & nice jobs. I only want my phone stable in terms of above mentioned requirement. As everybody like new things I also like the new JB or ICS updates but without compromising my requirement.
Giving Very Very Thanks to all who will reply and read my desires. And I will appreciate if anybody can suggest me the rom which fulfill my desire.
Once Again Thank You Very much.

Take a look at this ROM.
Almost double the benchmark of a stock ROM and reliable for daily use (on my gf's phone) with up to 3 days per battery charge.
Seems good one. But is this one has all share play apps? Or is there any other option for that if u know?
Thanks

Hey guys,
I don't have an overview anymore about all these custom ROMs out there for the n7000.
I'm looking for a stable, "basic" ROM with the latest Android, espically one with a good battery life.
Hope you can help me.

Battery life all sorta depends on how often you use your device and the things you do with it. With all the roms i used i never had a rom on my device that had a noticeble extended batterylife.
However you could underclock your cpu and try to find that line where your device still performs good enough.
Anyhow turning off wifi when you dont use it really makes a difference.
Id start with cyanogenmod 10.1 if you want to run android 4.2.
Or beerbongs build of Paranoid Android, if you can forget the battery thing and just want an aosp rom with some awesome features (check threat in original android development)

Yeah battery life largely depends on how you use your phone..
But I can tell you, I've personally found improvement upon flashing Ultimate ROM (first flash only, second time it was very bad actually) and I see many positive feedback regarding battery life on BurtROM.
rocket rom V4
My dad has Galaxy Ace and he uses it for sms, calls and for internet sometimes (browser and viber). Can you recommend me some light, tiny rom that will work without bugs and smooth. It can be newer (jb, kitkat), but without bugs and also the battery life is important.
Thanks

I've just been through this myself. Really the best way is to check them all out and test what's best for you but as i wanted a good smooth all rounder the rom i chose may be the one for your Dad. It took me 3 weeks toconclude this was the best one. It's a 4.1.1 JB rom, very smooth and fast with no bugs that i've found, has a battery extender Kernel with cronmod for internal memory expansion. The rom is called "Super Stock" and has 3 styles. "Xperia" style was throwing up errors. "Holo JB" style was pretty good but the "S2 Touchwizz (Modified)" style is superb.
All the newer ones i tried either had bugs, were slow, never had swap or where lacking in functions. Hope this helps!

Stocklite v7.1
This was the best rom on my old Samsung Galaxy Ace. Fast, great battery life compared to other roms and with some decent internal storage left. Maybe it doesn't look very aesthetically for some some people, but I guess your dad want performance > design.

Bro slimroms(slimlp) is the best rom i hv ever used. I m installing rom for about 3 years on various devices but have to say that slimroms are the best. It is very light, stable, bug free and still features rich.
existenz roms are best for me. existenz 3.5.5 (android kk) is way better for battery life.
existenz premium (andoid LL 5.1.1) is way better at performance and so smooth. battery life is a little bit less against 3.5.5 but i can live with it. and also those two roms have their own settings for better customization.
you should try both ofr 1-2 days and decide.
edit: i am talking for locked bootloader as i didn't try for locked ones. but existens is also for unlocked bootloaders too.
Stock Samsung galaxy Spica 2.1 is probably best for xperia z...
But seriously, there is no such thing like BEST ROM.
Why?
Because everyone have different usage behave, they use different features, and most important, Everyone like different things.
For one person ROM that have 10000 and 1 settings is good, and other like something simple. One like Colorful Lollipop theme, other like good old Dark Theme. One like loots of placebo settings, other like to keep it real and stick to stock options.
You get my point? Because we can sit here and talk about OUR favorite ROMs but at the end of the day we could not find best one.

Hi, I have just flashed Nougat 7.1.1 factory image and it is notlaggy as previous nougat image.
But, IDK, I was having issues with Pixel launcher and ram usage, went to CM 14.1 but phone was laggy aF.
As I think, this will be the latest Nougat or Whatever update We will be receiving for this device.
And I wanted to know if I should keep stock nougat running for a few weeks [No FC's, no Restarts, No Issues so far] or if I should change to a AOSP rom.
Based on your personal experience, [And if you have traveled this route before], What would you recommend?
Stock Nougat 7.1.1 N4F26M or Any other AOSP [Tell me your favorite ones, without that extreme menu settings or linux shell to make it a daily driver]
I think more of a ROM for the looks, combined with good performance... Loved the Pixel Launcher tho! but it is not optimized correctly.
Miui is far behind on software version and no oficial port.
CM is dead
LineageOs is not eligible "Yet" for my daily driver [this is my only phone for now]
Do not like menu settings with a lot of banners and 'notification bar settings extended"..
I do want, performance settings, maybe a different kernel with the rom.
Hope you can help me!

Why don't you give it a try to PureNexus ROM. Its fast, very stable and with very few bugs, if any, plus you get that Pixel like experience. It gets updated at least monthly, if not more often.
To me, it looked more stable that CM 14.1, I see that especially when I use Snapchat, which runs much better in this ROM. Dont get me wrong, stock Nougat is very good but does not have so many features as PureNexus has.
Cheers
uberstock is very nice and stable and not filled with too many extras....no issues for me so far.....link is in my signature
I'm having better experience with AOSP, I'm now running EmotionOS and the kernel it includes, I don't know if it has a custom one, If it doens't replace the kernel, I'm using it with Franco Kernel. Coming from the latest stock 7.1.1, is a much better experience IMO. Give it a try to Emotion OS with pico gapps.
Pure Nexus is amazing in terms of performance and most importantly the battery life. I am not talking about SoT or otherwise, I will tell you as a very layman experience. You use your phone, do whatsapp, surf facebook and browse during the day with all other normal activities of your life and PureNexus can easily give you 24hours or more of the charge without compromising the features and performance. I think you should try PureNexus AND stay with it for a week. Do not judge the battery life of a rom in a day or two, let it tune itself after a couple of charge (complete) discharge cycles and you'll be ok with it.

Any kernel Options? I just read about the pure nexus rom and it seems to be the best one [based on other users ratings]

Well I use the kernel that comes with it, since I don't feel the need to mess with other kernels. It gives me pretty good battery life and rock solid performance. I use Kernel Adiutor only to enable Double Tap to wake feature.
If you want to change things a little bit then Franco Kernel works good as well. I used it but messed it up and the phone started making funny things, restarts and such. But then again I didn't knew what I was doing at the time, so I let it go completely. Other users though had very good experiences with it.
I'm very tempted to try Pure Nexus ROM, I'm a purist always used only stock and no root, in fact I miss marshmallow and how fluid it was, but anyway kind of happy with nougat. Now that seems that 7.1.1 is buggy (speakerphone issue) I won't side load that update til we know the issue is fixed. So do you guys know if that ROM somehow fixes that annoying increasing ringtone and tone sounds when a message arrives in Nexus 6? I already read the goodies the ROM have posted by you guys, what else do you gain with this ROM? Many thanks.

If you're looking for a great aosp rom, try ABC rom. The thread has a collection for all different devices, wrongway123 builds for the N6.
