Can you flash a radio file from a stock image that isn't for your firmware? In my case, is it okay to flash the radio from a lollipop build on marshmallow without any issues? Thanks! It would have to be a T-Mobile lollipop build if I wanted WiFi calling right?

I don't think you should have any issues. Before I was really lazy and never updated my baseband despite changing firmware and never had any issues. You may run into problems with mixing the bootloaders though.

Yea they added wifi calling in marshmallow, to have it if I use a lollipop radio, I would need the T-Mobile version of the radio since those were carrier specific right? I rely on wifi calling where I live, service isn't great at my house, everywhere else in town, just not my house haha

You may wanna start by putting this in the T-Mobile LG G2 section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g2
Usually you need to stick to roms that are marked for your model number.

Sorry I missed that part, if it's a VS980, any rom marked to work on a VS980 should flash fine. Just keep an eye on what baseband is required, some still only work on the older JB baseband (certain AOSP roms), I'd avoid those personally.

You call also flash other variants to the vs980 there is a thread on xda about it. There's a patch that needs to be installed first though

Vs980 keep an eye on base bands and for the other variants it should be under the lg g2 thread
So I currently have an att sims card in my device. And I'm noticing a ' T-Mobile update service Update postoned' message. Is it safe to take the update even though I'm using att with this device?
anyone's input how this may affect an at&t user appreciated.

I don't think it should be any problem to update the phone with the att SIM on... at least in theory. I unlocked my T-Mobile Note 4 and it's working flawlessly on att at full LTE speeds, minus Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE of course, but I don't really care for those features on AT&T.

I'm going to root/custom recovery later anyways so I'd probably over write it with a custom rom. Probably doesnt pay to update.

It will update your baseband (modem) and a few other things that are inaccessible to the user, so yes, update it. In fact, the update does update the modem to version NJ7 (you're probably on NIH).

I am on N910TUVU1ANIH, So updating the baseband is needed to be compatible with custom roms? I'm just worried about bonking my signal since its not a tmobile sims.

I unlocked, upgraded to ANJ7 from that version, did this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...sy-steps-stock-odin-n910tuvu1anih-cf-t2903733
then this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...v1-4-4-4-tw-anj7-extremely-t2916463?nocache=1
with no problems using the t mobile one with an att sim, have been connected to 4G LTE all day.

I'm on the latest update with latest modem and I have absolutely great reception on at&t with my T-Mobile Note 4. Better than my Nexus 5 for sure.
Hey guys I made the switch last night from Verizon to ATT, and need some help.
I am currently on the 89r radio because that was the radio that came preinstalled for the verizon varients, but I want to make sure I get the best possible working radio for my motorola bought nexus 6 for ATT. Anyone on ATT please can you recommend a radio that would work best?
@the_rooter
If you update to 5.1 the 95R radio works very well.
It is included in LMY47D and LMY47I.

Not exactly. I said 95r works well for me. Different locations and different people get different results. You need to try it and decide for yourself.
Now that the n6 on tmobile has wifi calling is there anyway to port this feature to our Moto x 2014?
Does anyone have the apk?

Shouldn't it be part of the 5.1 update if the N6 has it on 5.1?

No its ONLY part of 5.1 updates for tmobile branded phones. All tmobile phones have wifi calling as part of the tmobile rom but until now there has never been a phone that was running an unbranded rom that could use tmobile wifi calling. I am not sure anyone knows exactly how its done per say but now that we have a release for n6 which is not specifically tmobile branded I was hoping someone might figure out what changes were made in order to allow it to use the wifi calling and port those changes to moto x 2014
I have a plan with tmobile US and it includes unlimited LTE and that also allows for 5gb of tethering. Neither Wifi tethering or USB tethering work. It will "activate" on the phone, but it doesnt connect. I am running Ubuntu so there's no drivers to install. When I tethered from my Nexus 5, it connected no problem. I am running ViperOne 3.5.0 ROM with 1.32 firmware. Im not sure if its a problem with the rom or what. I am also running ElementalX kernel (latest). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. If need be I can attach a logcat but I didnt see anything relevant.
did you install Xposed or did it come it with the ROM? I read somewhere that later versions of Xposed can break tethering

No, I dont have xposed at all. BUT, I managed to upgrade firmware and change roms and now its working just fine. Thanks for the reply.
I see that you've fixed it, but I'm posting this for anyone with future issues. 1.32 doesn't play well with ViperOneM9. It should only be installed over updated firmware.

So you are saying t-mobile 1.32 firmware does not play well with ViperOneM9 and we should be using the updated international firmware with ViperRom?

No, you should be using the latest T-Mobile firmware. Last I checked, that's 2.7.531.6.
