Hello XDA community,
This is my first post on here, yay!
I've been reading XDA a lot in the last 2 years, but never registered and wrote a post. Shame on me!
As most people here, I have a problem. I own this cellphone and recently it hanged on update. I've read here that both AT&T, Samsung and Windows haven't released the stock ROM so I went searching for it on Internet. Came across this site - samsung-file.com, I cannot post a link because of the XDA rules, and wanted to ask you guys about the possible stock ROM.
What do you guys think of it? Might it be the official stock ROM for this model? :fingers-crossed:
If so, it would be great to somehow push/flash it to device. (WP7 Downloader for I937?)
I tried few version of WP7 Downloader and none detected my Samsung Focus S. Probably because these Downloaders were made for certain models?
Anyway, I'm in a great need to restore my cellphone to working condition and I hold my faith in this possible ROM as it seems it is my last hope to get it up and running. Other solution is to send the device for repair... No one wants that...
Cheers!

Hello,
Well what can I tell you the last thing I did with the Samsung Focus S, is take it off from Demo mode. Because mine was a demo phone but now I am using it again. I had bought a Nokia Lumia 1020, but just today the screen shattered after many numerous drops on pavement, gravel, tile and flying of my car once, today it broke just hitting a wooden floor. Go figure. Well so I am back to my Samsung Focus S. I had tried many times looking for a ROM, but it was difficult couldn't find one, I did have many roms for my original Samsung Focus. If you want send me the link to my email [email protected] I can look at it if you want me to. It might help both of us. Right now I am not going to rush into buying a new phone, I've been hearing that the Nokia Lumia 1030 or should I say Microsoft Lumia 1030. I'll just wait and see what happens. on the mean time I'll be playing with my Focus S. One thing I do recommend you is switching to a windows phone 8 but if you can wait, for a Windows phone 10 which I'll be waiting, Even though they announced all windows phone 8 will be upgrading to Windows 10, But I'll wait until everything becomes more concrete, but on a side note, Microsoft stop supporting Windows Phone 7.8 so no apps are being developed, just something to think about. Hope to hear from you.
Hello, do you have some clean backup or restore point? It would help me a lot! I have a paper phone right now...
Hello
I just purchased P7 week back so I would like to discuss about this nice piece of hardware..
It is has nice design very slim
I have to say that the software is not brilliant but it is OK.. screen is very clear and bright ..
Biggest issue for me is that the phone gets quite hot while on heavy use or just even on skype or youtube.
OK that is all FOR now from begining , if you have guys any conments or P7 owners please share
Thanks

One thing that i noticed in reviews and missing from the current build B378 is a way to control the display size dpi wise as introduced in android 7.
Settings->Programming Options->Minimal Width.
Even if it work instantly, I would suggest restart phone after changing DPI(some apps get messed up without restart)
As for question of when we could get EMUI 5.1
Probably in the middle or end of the summer... I think.
Even if Huawei is not perfect with supporting older devices, I think that just year old P9 will get it anyway.
But for me its just an number, i didnt saw any major features in 5.1 beside some fancy names that look cool only on paper.
Hi all..today @huaweiEmui answered me a tweet confirming that they are bringing features from 5.1. to 5.0 by June 2017 on... so mmm let's see if they bring 5.1 to Huawei P9.. hopefully yes... but.. this action may indicate that P9 would stuck at Emui 5.0 ... hope I am wrong ... I would like to have Android 7.1.1 more thatn Emui 5.1 ... let's see how it goes but I hope at least they release a soon update to L09-c432 (I am at C432b378 and suffering higher battery drain compared to B361....)
I will make a guess of very late 2017 is when we will get EMUI 5.1 on our P9. So far, the recently announced P10 comes with EMUI 5.1. I will assume that the Mate 9 will get EMUI 5.1 sometime mid this year and after that, the P9 would be next in line. So I would make a guess and say Q4 2017 is when we will get EMUI 5.1 and it bloody better be Android 7.1.2 because by then, Android 8 would already been announced.

I think that this is good news, as I understand it they will actually update the P9 to EMUI 5.1 by June 2017. I never got B361, updated directly to B378. The battery life is good for me 5-6 h sot over 24h (100-10%).

What are the main differences between android 7.1.1/7.1.2 and 7.0 ? One that I know is the support emoji thing. And another would be home screen shortcuts (that are great) other that that not a lot of changes could impact the p9 as far as i know.

I know about the developers option, however a real menu implementation would have been nicer as it is supported natively by android now and the mate 9 on EMUI 5.0 already has this option under display settings
Maybe they will also bring back the toggle to enable 720p manually for the whole system. Combined with the dpi setting will make for a powerful battery saving combo.
To be honest most of people will not even bother to check what DPI is, so small difference in placement for that option is nothing bad... its just in another place in setting, but it is there, and that what matter right?
As for 720p mode its a bummer, and its only thing that i found in EMUI 5.0 that doesnt work... I have no idea why they even think about idea of making it "intelligent" in the first place, so it could "automatically change res depending on task"... the F?! As i said in other topic, most of battery save in 720p you can get by watching movies and browsing internet, and no matter how fancy name it will have it will not detect WHEN user want to use it, so they should keep it as manual option.
Mine is still on EMUI 4.1, so ...
Same here O2 sourced P9 still on Android 6, EMU 4.1.1 (EVA-L09C432B182) :crying:

Totally agree checking for the setting in developer options in something no normal user will do (plus it's a numerical value not a slider) I know people not tech savvy or even interested in how their smart device works that showed me their new feature after the nougat update on the S7, that also has the manual resolution change slider.

There isnt really a huge difference between 7.1, 7.1.1 and 7.1.2. It just a small pet hate for me not having the latest version of the OS before moving on to the next major update.
Please help!*
I have the huawei P9 plus and after the last update to Android 7.0. My device have a problem. When I ever play a video whether it's on YouTube or from the device, while playing the video switch the device from horizontal to vertical, the video quality will become so bad and you will notice many thin vertical lines divided the screen.*
I only face this problem when playing videos.*
Do anyone else notice this problem?

Hello, so i've used my MI9 for about 3 months now and i'm really happy with it. One issue that bothers me though is that ios/iphone users can't see my snapchat video-stories, however posting pictures to Mystory and sending a video privately to someone works. When they try to open it, it instantly skips/a frame of blackscreen and moves on to the next person in their list. Another friend of mine also has a Mi9 and it's the same issue for him. I'm using it pretty much all the time and would be fun to somehow find a fix (maybe something in camera app settings?). I belive it has something with screen ratio to do.
I'm on MIUI Global 10.2.13 STABLE
Thanks!
I have the same problem too! Would love to know if there is a fix for it.
I'm on stock rom too, I wonder if it has anything to do with it.
same, bump
I already posted this issue on the official Mi forum and they sadly don't seem to give a f..

I think problem got fixed upgrading to MIUI 11 9.10.10 by xiaomi.eu. Unlocked bootloader/rooted with magisk.
Hi guys, I bought this phone couple of weeks ago and I'm happy with it.
Recently, I'm experiencing lags while using the Instagram app. When you try to send sticker or gif on dm, scrolling thought them the app feels so sluggish.
It is the same for the animation when you minimize the app and access recent apps.
Anyone experiencing the same?
If you can update your phone to One UI 3, you should. It is far more stable than One UI 2.x versioins. I also had some problems with animations on One UI 2.5, but when I updated my phone, they were all gone. I think Samsung is getting better at OTA updates.
I received the One UI 3.0 and issue is fixed now.
