Hi ! Is it possible use WIFI with fly mode actived ?
Until today for me was not possible.
Thanks.
flight mode turns of all GSM, Bluetooth and WiFi services. It is not possible to use WiFi in flight mode.
Thanks for your reply.
I thought was a problem of mine, but now I know it's a standard feature of the Fly mode.

Hi,
As I use my old diamond now as wifi/3g router I would like to disable this feature, which makes him cancell all connections when press power on button to disable screen baclight. Always when screen goes off, phone cuts all connnections, where can I change it? I have WM with HTC Touch Flo.
Hello Kajman,
i think you use this via the usb-Port.
If the Diamond goes in Standby it "only" disable WiFi and USB Connections.
WiFi can be fixed with DiamondTweak (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409540).
Which tool USB fix i don't know.
Kind regards,
Kkangpae

Hi
I just have purchased a network free (sim free) 7 tab p1000 from the UK.
How do I give the device a name that displays on my wifi router so I know what it is, presently its just shows up a * ?
2nd question.
I first booted device with no network sim in and it asked me about how I want to connect to internet (none, wifi, wifi & 3G).
I put in sim just to check it worked (it did) but then removed sim as I am waiting a new one.
How do I switch off the 3g connection only (not airplane mode) ? (I still want to use wifi)
I can't see any menu option to do this and on my power meter, 48% power is taken by the non existent 3g connection.
thanks
Robin...
I found a strange thing that answered one of my questions.
heres how you disable cellular part of device :-
go to setting, activate flight mode
then go to wifi
turn wifi back on.
it works, no cellular but you still have wifi
now just need an answer on network name showing on my router.
cheers
wifi will still work in airplane mode.. you'll lose bluetooth though in airplane mode..
thanks, i doubt i will need bluetooth much, mainly i will use the device around house so don't want it connecting to mobile network and running up charges and if i take it out with me i want to control when it connects.
any ideas on router name showing up ?
Hello to all,
my Sony Z3 Compact / D5803
5.1.1
23.4.A.1.264
No Root
Reset with original settings
No stamina mode enabled
No enabled energy savings
No program installed unless the original ones after reset
The problem:
wifi connected everything works perfectly ... the phone goes into standby ... I move to another place where it previously was connected in wifi ...
any program that requires connection work ... if the phone comes out of the standby icon appears and wireless wifi back to work ...
So long as I do not go out of standby I do not receive any notification from the Internet because the wireless (having the correct WPA parameters) is not working...why ?!?
I tried different types of routers, various keys WPA / WEP ... if I do not force the exit from standby no connection.
Thank you so much for your advice, gino
Hello everyone,
A very good 4G coverage recently popped in my house for no apparent reason. I won't say I'm unhappy, because the debit is 23 times better than my poor ADSL2+ (140+Mo/s instead of ~6Mo/s). My subscription allows for 50Go of data per month, which is more than enough for my needs.
I currently use my Nexus 5X and USB tethering to share this connection to my computer (which doesn't have a WiFi card). I'm afraid that having the phone connected (and thus charging) constantly will ruin its battery.
I have the possibility to buy a WiFi PCIe card for my computer. Using it, I'll be able to use the WiFi hotspot and therefore not kill my battery. Moreover, Android Nougat has a quick toggle for WiFi Hotspot and not USB Tethering, making it more easy to enable and disable (would it be possible to make an app to add such an icon for USB Tethering ?).
My question is : which solution is better ? Should I keep using USB Tethering, or will it kill my battery and I should use the WiFi Hotspot instead ? If I should, what kind of PCIE card should I buy, will a 811n be enough or should I buy an 811ac one (considering that the hotspot emits 811ac) ?
Thanks for helping me (and no, the fiber is not coming anytime soon unfortunately)
