How To Achieve S-Off?

I want to achieve s-off but i dont know where to start does anyone know of a "noob-friendly" tutorial?

are you sure you want to s-off, if you're not sure what you are doing?
post a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n)

Why do you want to S-OFF? What can't you do with the phone S-ON? Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, especially if you have no idea what you're doing...

Hey Guys, im trying to soff my htc one, but i read that in order to do so i need to flash a 4.2.2 rom (following vomer guide), the problem is i already have ARHD 31.5 which means im on android 4.3. Could somebody please provide me a link or the file of a 4.2.2 ARHD rom ?, i tried to post this under One Android Development, but since im not active (have more than 10 post on XDA) i cannot post nothing over there .
I would really aprecciate the help,

You need to S-OFF and then you'll be able to flash the firmware you desire.

I think your phone is a clone (fake), not real HTC. MediaTek processor.....

Got it checked from a mobile outlet he said your phone is orignal just the firmware is in chinese
he checked it through bootload or something by pressing power and volume key
it was all in chinese though he knew about the options he said its orignal ive checked its just got a chinese firmware
anyone help please ? link to proper firmware please

search the baseband version on the Internet.
You'll see that the same baseband pops up for Samsung, HTC etc. Just the case is different, underneath it's the same clone hardware.

4.2.2 rom plzz!!!

can someone please provide me a 4.2.2 version stock rom , flashable zip through recovery....as i cannot s-off my phone. i am on hboot 1.44 and viper one rom 5.8.0...need it badly, having trouble with the network and wifi as the firmware is not updated and cant update as phone is s-on...please help

First Go To htcdev website and unlock your boot loader and than use the kings root to root your device

So? SDK22 = Android Lollipop (5.1.x). ARM64-v8a should then be arm64.
Alternatively, you could use the systemless Xposed, which will automatically install the correct version.

King root will not success in first time , u have to try multiple times ..
sometimes it will restart your phone ,
for me, fifth time worked and rooted my phone :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Searching Testers

Hello dear M8S comunity,
im searching some Testers^^ i buyed a used M8S that had a dead emmc ( never unlocked still in warranty) my M8S is send to HTC for warranty repair but now i want to start some developing for M8S
for those who dont know me... i had never developed for an HTC only for sonys but im sure we can get something
so what do you need?
- having a unlocked bootloader
- stock android 6
- some skill with adb/fastboot
- rooted device
- a full backup and a working recovery.img
what my plans are:
- first get a stable twrp build against my sources
- after that try getting a cm14 booted
- after that we will see
anyone wants to help me?

cause you need to start somewhere... and if i would have a nougat base i would use it xD but this phone doesnt have one... so starting with android6.0 and going forward by adding changes necessary to bopt cm14... then adding fixes...
but firstly i need to know if twrp is fine ( would mean kernel is ok )

Take care that from MM the firmware don't allow anymore to just use "fastboot boot ..." U need to use htc_fastboot and it have to be flashed in order to use it.
Also the other phones from HTC like M8 is A9 or other do the same, U can see in there specific threads.
I will like to help but mine is also in service (broken lcd).

nah it doesnt must be flashed to use it... if you htc_fastboot boot recovery.img then the recovery.img will be loaded to ram and then booted.... not flashing anything ^^
