I just bought the s7 international model with unlocked bootloader and I want to sell this crappy att s6. How to fullly wipe this crap before selling it?
go into bootloader and wipe data/cache/everything possible to wipe, and dont forget to disable Samsung Reactivation Lock (Settings>Lock Screen and Security>Find My Mobile>Reactivation Lock)
download protect star ishredder from the play store wipe everything you want 35 or 50 times so no one can recover the data. takes a long time though, like a whole day.

Hi everybody!
I couldn't find an answer to my question..
I recently purchased my Galaxy Note, best phone ever. Except that I found some kind of bump or a little space between the glass of the screen and the metal RIM... It does not affect anything but I would like a replacement in case it comes up with other troubles..
The thing is that I already rooted my phone and removed my carrier bloatware...The carrier is the responsible for changing my device since I bought it from them so I would like to do a Factory reset (not just data wipe) to recover my bloatware and ask for a replacement and not have changed anything...
Is this possible?.. I come from a SonyEricsson Xperia X10 and all I needed to do was connect to a SonyEricsson Software (PC Companion) to reflash original, carrier bloated, firmware.. Is this possible with my note?
Thanks for any help or guidance.. I'm a noob with Samsung..
I think a factory reset would reload the bloatware. Its supposed to put it back to how it came out of the box. Its worth trying. You're just going to wipe it anyways, so why not see what happens? I doubt the store would even notice the apps missing anyways.
There is a factory reset code in my FAQ, give that a spin. There are a couple in there for you to try.
Thanks... I tried the default factory reset and it did something it just restored the "apps" which are just default bookmark shortcuts with carrier icons...
I think that's enough for the warranty.. Only thing that is missing and I erased is the Social Hub... Does anyone know where can I get that APK??
Thaks to you both!!

Ok so we purchased this phone a while back and I believe it was the demo phone at a Sams Club. Anyways, we were having some problems with it not responding to a wake from sleep so I wanted to do a factory reset. Now, it asks for a password that I have no idea what it is. I called up and they gave me their store number that they usually use as a password but it was a nogo. On a Galaxy S III it's like VOlume Up and Power then you can wipe data, but this phone I can't get to that menu. Any idea how I can fix this?
I have this almost brand new note 5 and it keeps freezing up a few seconds after loading into the OS. I've tried already a few things like:
- wipe partition cache
- load into safe mode(also freezes up)
I just need the photos as I'm exchanging it under warranty but there is no way for me to access the data. I went to best buy and they said they could retrieve it but most likely the phone would be damaged and it would cost me almost as much as the phone itself. Plus any modifications would break my warranty.
I feel helpless here. Is there any way I can get the data without loading into the OS?

So i lost my Nokia 8 a few days back. Sad about it since barring the camera the phone was awesome
My question is, I had the fingerprint lock on the device activated can the person who tries to use my device access the data on it. I was on Android 8.1
I already tried to erase it from android settings but dont know how much that will work since the guy turned off the phone
The only way to access the phone is with your pin /pattern code
The guy can also access the phone by doing a hard reset (wipe cache and dalvik) so the info you had on the phone desapears

I know the phone is good as gone. Have resigned to the fact that the phone is lost.
I am more worried about the data on the phone. If he has to do a hard reset to use and and all the data gets wiped then i can live with it.
He can't really do anything unless you've had the bootloader unlocked. If it's still locked and you've got a fingerprint with pattern on it, the chances he will find the pattern is very low (Unless you've had some very common and obvious one set).
Your data is probably safe and all he can do is perform a hard reset. You might wanna also report IMEI to the police and online authorities so the phone will be worthless and flagged as stolen in known establishments.

Yup bootloader still locked and no pattern it was a pin number.
Sadly the police were least bothered with a lost phone in India (near my place anyway). Gave a complaint so that incase the guy misuses the phone it wont come back on me.
Proud owner of two unlocked Note 9's since black friday! After getting them I flashed to Verizon stock firmware to get access to WiFi calling but have since moved over to Google Fi.
Every time I flash a new ROM in odin (using home CSC) the device starts up just fine but when I try to unlock the phone with the code or fingerprint, the screen turns black for a few seconds then goes back to the home screen. The only remedy was a hard reset losing all my data (which I can get most back with my backup). I am ok with that, but my wife won't let me touch hers because it deletes all the passwords and samsung pay cards even with the backup. I have even tried clearing the cache and it still won't go past the lock screen. I think the Verizon ROM is blocking some radios so I need to flash back to unlocked.
Has anyone seen this error and have any idea how to prevent it?

Remove all fingerprints, PINs, passwords etc before flashing. You can set them back up after installing the new firmware.
