Hi, I am very very new to HTC. This is my first HTC phone.
I just bought the HTC One M7 (T-Mobile Unlocked) Variant, I have one simple question. How do I install "international stock ROM" (UK or something like that, not GPE ROM) on my t-mobile phone. I hate all the bloatwares from t-mobile.
Please give me a guided path step by step (I will really appriciate it)
Phone is brand new, not rooted, got it yesterday.
Screenshot attached for more details.
I have found the following - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/stock-rom-t-mobile-m7-help-s-off-t2909334
but it is very outdated
Please help
Thanks so much

"T-Mobile" isn't a variant of the M7, its a carrier brand. T-Mobile phones are the M7_UL variant which is the most common one. You can simply unlock the bootloader flash a stockish/ debranded rom for the M7_UL or if you want you can do the full conversion to the x.xx.401.x version using a RUU (requires S-OFF). Is your phone sim-locked to t-mobile? If yes you'll also need to sim-unlock it, flashing a rom or doing the conversion will not remove the sim-lock.

First I would recommend you should use the7.19.401.51 version which is the latest one. In order to flash one of these RUU you will first need to achieve S-OFF, Change your CID number, change your MID number and finally flash the RUU.
Achieve S-OFF with Sunshine, will cost you USD 25$ to use the app, no there isn't any free method.
Change your CID to HTC__001 (do the commands when booted in bootloader/fastboot mode)
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
fastbooot reboot-bootloader
Change your MID to PN0710000: (do the commands when booted in a custom recovery or when booted in a rooted rom)
Code:
adb shell
su
echo -ne '\x50\x00\x4e\x00\x30\x00\x37\x00\x31\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 bs=1 seek=16384
exit
Then flash the 7.19.401.51 RUU with the instruction posted in the RUU colelction thread at post #1.

Hello there
These are the current stats of my device:
ROM: TrickDroid 7.5.0
CID: superCID 11111111
S-OFF
Recovery: TWRP 2.5.0
Bootloader: Unlocked
If I want to flash a RUU, I understand that just about ANY RUU will work because I have Super CID, but I want to know if there certain prerequists to flashing a RUU? Like for instance would I have to relock bootloader, set it to S-ON, flash stock recovery first, etc?
I'll probably be flashing either one of those:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.29.707.3_R_Radio_4A .14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_311678_signed.exe

You should be able to flash the ruu the way you are. The only differences between your phone and mine when I flashed the brightstar ruu is the Rom I was on and I had relocked my bootloader. S-off will be retained after the flash but twrp will be replaced with the stock recovery. If it fails to flash you can try it again after relocking the bootloader but I don't think it's necessary.
Thank you very much. I won't need the bootloader to be unlocked anyhow in order to receive OTA updates so I might as well relock it and not flash a custom recovery. I do not need to be S-ON in order to receive OTA updates, right? Just locked bootloader, RUU, stock recovery and the proper CID (like HTC__001, for instance)? And while S-OFF, is changing CID from 111111 to HTC__001 as easy as using one command like
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
?

Your pretty much spot on... Keep in mind that for otas your model id needs to be right for the ruu you flash as well as the cid. For example my phone is a US AT&T model has the same model id for the US dev version. So I just needed to be sure to flash the US dev ruu (brightstar) and then set the correct cid (bs_us001) and life is good. Problem is I don't personally know the model id or cid for the ruus you intend to flash. The good news is you can find your model id as well as change it if you need to. The threads to do this are pretty easy to find I'll get a link if you need me too. And to confirm "fastboot oem writecid ********" is what ya need... The asterisks are of course whatever cid you intend to write.

Thank you so much for your reply. So from what I understood, in order to go back to stock, I'd have to flash a RUU that will be compatible with my Model ID, correct? I do know what my model is, and it is PN0711000 if I am not mistaken (I have it saved on a text file somewhere), but the problem is that I will not know which model ID I need and for which RUU. And by the way, if something ever goes wrong with my device after returning it to full stock but with a different Model ID, wouldn't HTC be able to figure that out and void my warranty? Sorry for the 20 questions I am very new to this. I appreciate your help.

Just replied to you in another thread lol... Um if that's your model id I believe... Emphasis on believe... That matches the Europe ruu and possibly the Asia one too. Maybe someone who knows for sure will pop in here and confirm. As far as the warranty stuff if there is no ruu for you specific carrier then make a fresh nandroid backup of the stock Rom and with s-off can be made like it was when you bought it.
Yeah I just saw your post there, thank you lol. Unfortunately I was stupid enough not to make a Nandroid Backup of my stock ROM before I went ahead and flashed a custom one.

Yeah that is correct.
My Htc One is S-OFF with super cid "11111111" hboot 1.44 and latest radio.
the original cid was TIM_401 something from Italy which I didn't found the RUU over the internet for it, so from day 1 using custom roms (viper one)
Actually I was a iPhoner for many years just few months ago upgraded to "android" so I am pretty new in all this.
I wonder if it possible for example to flash the us developer edition RUU which receive very quickly OTA updates from HTC on my HTC one? and covert my phone to full developer edition?
and another question if I flash the stock rom using fastboot this will upgrade my HBOOT/Radio too?
Sorry for my newb question

first flash this firmware
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/3-22-1540-1_firmware-zip/
change your CID to: BS_US001
Then you can use this guru reset to change to a developer edition ->> http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-22-1540-1-zip/
Choose to flash stock recovery and no root and you'll have a stock developer edition One.
I don't think you need it but if you do
download Guru Bootloader Reset from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_boo...reset_1-0-zip/
If Ive missed anything someone please chime in

My CID is htc_001 and it sucks i allways get ota updates very slow compared to the other cids, so my question is to which cid should i change in order to get the fastest ota updates?
And another question, i flashed TWRP and rooted my phone, i still can get ota updates?
Again sorry for my noobish questions and my bad english.
You will need to be fully stock to get OTA's, recovery, no missing apps, stock rom etc.
and as for CID, well at a guess I would say super cid would get the updates first, however, recently ive heard its very dependant on your operator, country and whether you brought your phone or its on contract.
Im in the UK and on CID HTC__001 too, I read today that HTC are releasing the sense 6 update to UK customers somewhere around the 11th June, so Wednesday. im all ready for it, just got to flash stock recovery.

you need the stock recovery file (recovery.img) from the same version firmware of your phone. i.e if you phone is on 4.19.401.1 and you want to update to 5.20.401.1, you need the recovery.img file from the 4.19.401.1 firmware.

yes you need s-off, and if you change your cid, it must match your sw version! some software version only have a unique compatible cid and other have many compatible cid. i.e .401 sw version can use many different cid: HTC__001, HTC__Y13, HTC__032, HTC__203 etc etc..... but .502 version can only use one cid: CWS__001
to change cid:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid YOUR_CID [COLOR="Green"]<---- in most cases, start with HTC in capital letter, 2 underscores and 3 digits, always 8 characters total.[/COLOR]
i.e:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
you can read your actual cid with this command:
Code:
fastboot oem readcid

well from there you can either follow clsA link and change to developer edition, which will require changing cid, mid and flash the RUU, dev edition gets the quickest updates, although its very touch and go at the moment as to whether the M7 is going to get anymore updates, or you can do the same with the latest T-mo RUU which is here: http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-t-mobile/news/ that will also require you to change your cid and mid, after doing that follow the manual instructions on the HTC site, download link for the RUU is at the bottom.

no you dont need to lock as your s-off, unlocked is fine.
locked / relocked for flashing firmware or RUU's is only required for s-on users and limited to 1 step forward or current only.
So now the ruu times out on sending.......
So I extracted the rom.zip. If I flash it from twrp since it has a recovery image in it, will it overwrite twrp?
I'm assuming yes and then I would have to fast boot twrp back again.
Is this correct? Thanks

Anyone know what the first part of this means? (unaligned ruu)
Where would I get this????
> Use an unaligned ruu or a matching hboot ruu
I just bought a M7 from amazon. apparently it is unlocked phone, developer edition. It has S-off and Super CID. I am having issues with wifi, which I can not turn off. it stays stuck to on. If I reboot the phone I can turn on and turn off for some time but after a few hours it stays stuck to on and can not be turned off. If it gets stuck when the wifi is turned off, I can not have it turned on unless I reboot it. I think it is some software issue since rebooting the phone solves the problem for a while. I tried wiping the cache but did not help in the long run.
I contacted HTC and they say the software has been altered before selling and in order to have the stock rom I need to have s-off and original cid (which I don't know as I got it with super cid), otherwise it will definitely brick the phone.
XDA forums say that if you have s-off and super cid you can flash any rom, which is in direct conflict of what HTC says.
Can someone tell if it possible to have stock rom from htc website on this phone with s-off and super cid.
The MID is PN0710000, platform HBOOT-8064, version main: 7.19.401.30
Thanks in advance

I just bought a M7 from amazon. apparently it is unlocked phone, developer edition. It has S-off and Super CID. I am having issues with wifi, which I can not turn off. it stays stuck to on. If I reboot the phone I can turn on and turn off for some time but after a few hours it stays stuck to on and can not be turned off. If it gets stuck when the wifi is turned off, I can not have it turned on unless I reboot it. I think it is some software issue since rebooting the phone solves the problem for a while. Your firmware suggests that you have a WWE phone. That's World Wide Edition and European UL version to be exact. You can flash any ROM from HTC M7. development thread. Don't try to flash Sprint, Verizon, T-mobile... You can use WWE RUU to flash it back to stock if you want to start from scratch
I would suggest you to flash the 7.19.401.51 RUU version so you have the latest software and firmware installed. And never believe what HTC's customer support is telling you, looks like these guys don't know how their own phone are working. You can flash whatever you want with S-OFF and SuperCID, you don't need to know your original CID (But there is a way to know it if you absolutely want to put it back). Just make sure you are flashing stuff for your variant like donkeykong1 said above. :good:
If your wifi is still doing weird things after flashing the RUU then its an hardware problem.
Thanks Alray and donkeykong1. I appreciate your inputs.
I will go ahead and flash ruu bu I can not see the 7.19.401.51 RUU on the htc website.
1. Can you please provide me a link for the ruu
2. Is there a way for knowing for sure that this is a wwe version, though I feel the same as you guys mentioned.
3. Can you please tell me how to know the original cid (just for reference, not very important).
4. Can you provide a link that shows how to flash ruu. have never done it before, but I am quiet technical, have assembled a few pc's hardware and software for friends and family and will be able to do it.
thanks once again

x.xx.401.x version-main = WWE version so your phone is currently running the WWE firmware. That doesn't mean it originally was a WWE version.
Boot in a rooted rom or in a custom recovery, start an adb command window on your computer then type:
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/mfg_backup.img
exit
exit
then copy the mfg_backup.img file from your /sdcard folder to your computer and open it using HxD
Blocks 1209C to 120A3 is your original CID number
Blocks 120AC to 120B4 is your original MID number
Blocks 120E8 to 120F1 is the manufacturing date
Blocks 12110 to 1211E is your original IMEI

If I update from this ruu, will I be able to receive OTA updates when available?
