Unable to flash rom after failed update on Kies - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I am was going from rooted 4.4 to 5.1.1 and running the dynamic kat rom...I downgraded to stock 4.4 and attempted to update through Kies...well the update hung at 87% for a long time and eventually failed, I got the "system encounted a firmware issue " error and was unable to restart...Kies will not recognize my note no matter how many times I flash the drivers and Odin always fails no matter the version I try to flash...Even SmartSwitch says "device failed to recognize", and I cannot flash twrp either (I even tried flashing PIT files which failed as well) (I still get a "comm4" connection in odin)

Had a similar issue too. Do an emergency recovery from kies. it will download latest stock firmware restore.

Kies cannot see my phone and I get odin error ; SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused2 > Binary 1 [1] eMMC write fail : ABO when I try to flash ANY rom

Have you tried a full internal wipe from recovery?
maybe retry 4.4.4 through ODIN and then moving forward?
up to date on modem/bootloader?
also, sometimes flashing in ODIN just fails for no apparent reason. when it does, you must unplug the phone, reboot the phone and enter bootloader mode again every time.

i tried to download stock rom and flash again, but it failed like above,
and when i go try to flash the kernel, it success to go to the recovery mode,
but it showing error like
E:Error in /cache/recovery/sec_csc.zip (status 7)
And i maybe forgot to enable usb debugging before i root, is this the cause? how i enable it now?
what can i do now? I tried to change port, change pc, uninstall kies, reinstall driver, close antivirus, and all doesn't work, please help...
To be sure, take out all unnecessary USB devices and use a USB port that's directly attached to your motherboard. Without your phone attached load Odin and load all files. Put the phone in Download mode and hook it up to your pc. When Odin recognizes it then try and flash again.
Make sure there's not a trace of Kies on the pc, just have the drivers installed.
USB debugging should not have to be enabled. There's no way of enabling it without booting up the phone and setting it in the options anyway.

First: this thread is marked as solved since april. Chances are very low for a reaction (but at least I did)
Second: Make a new one in Q&A
Third: What do you mean with "Took the TB"? Especially when you flash a new Stock Rom after
Fourth: Did you put the tar-file under "Phone"? Should be "PDA".
Fifth: Read a lot in the stickies here - good start for handling Odin is Dr. Ketan's thread
Sixth: your current situation might result from not reading enough. I hope you didn't brick your device and can restore a running Rom with the instructions from the stickies. Good Luck
how exactly did you reach this situation?
Did you resolve this ?

[SOLVED] Can't install for latest CWM recovery and CM

Hello all, I'm new.
Last night, I've already flashed to ClockworkMod recovery (5.8.1.8) after following the instruction from wiki, then I formatted all for data, cache, preload and sdcard (except emmc), and then also I tried to download latest version of ClockworkMod recovery and CyanogenMod stable or nightly builds for her Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) phone.
The biggest problem before I tried to install for stable or latest nightly builds of CyanogenMod, but it doesn't work due for asserting failure (the console log shows 'assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "galaxynote"') as in status 7 of error.
And then, I can't install for latest ClockworkMod recovery while freezes and the message says "Replacing stock recovery with ClockworkMod recovery".
I need to teach for how to install, but could you please help me?
(Note: Sorry for bad English, but I could not understand anymore.)
You can't install recovery directly.. You need to use a custom kernel like Philz or Speedmod. Then you can go about cleaning and wiping.

I meant to say you CANT install recovery directly.
If that does not work then use Philz kernel that's is a tar.md5 file and use Odin to flash on PDA.
Flash philz ((kernel)) from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
Then you're good to go.

It seems you keep flashing PhilZ recovery. Don't do that. You need to flash PhilZ kernel which inlude recovery in it. Download from here latest one.

[Q] Galaxy S5 G900A Stuck In Downloading/Firmware Upgrade Mode

I have searched for about the past 3-4 hours which is a lot longer than it usually takes for me to get to the bottom of these dang things. My phone (Galaxy S5 G900A Lollipop 5.0) has been really screwy on the WiFi lately (home, out in public, family members homes) so I decided (after a factory reset, safe mode, etc failing) to go ahead and try to downgrade my phone. So I went online and found out you can do it with Odin (3.09, 3.10, 3.06) and attempted it. I downloaded a stock 4.4.4 firmware and went to work. Immediately it failed with the error I am still getting which is the following:

Example of the download screen I use with Odin (as instructed): Unable to post outside link, just google "download mode glaaxy s5" it's the first image.
I have attempted using both the old and new version of Kies to perform the emergency and normal firmware update procedures. My phone does not show in the emergency firmware recovery screen and the firmware update mode ends in an error telling me to use the emergency firmware update, which as mentioned does not work.
With Odin I have attempted: Multiple computers, multiple USB ports on each computer, reinstalling Samsung drivers, restarting computer, multiple Odin versions, multiple firmware files (4.4.4, 4.4.2), running as administrator

You can't downgrade from 5.0. Flash 5.0 and you will be fine. If I'm not mistaken, the new bootloader is not backwards compatible and therefore won't let a downgrade happen.

Since you did OTA updates, your bootloader has been updated and you can NOT revert back to older version. You basically need to reflash 5.1.1 firmware and stay there. Try to restore using Kies application.

Again tried Kies, Kies 3, and the new smart swap, nothing allows me to complete this they all say no repair option available when tools and emergency recovery is selected. Tried initialization and it tried v 4.4.2 which crashes.
HELP!!
You should be able to use ODIN and the link to the 5.1.1 firmware in the top of this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-update-to-g900aoi5-5-1-unrooted-t3235774
Did you figure out what to do? I'm in the same boat. My phone boots to "Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue". Kies does not find the phone. I was on OF3 trying to downgrade to stock ROM. Link posted above does not have ODIN flashable files except for bootloader it seems.
Found out how to go back to working phone by flashing file at the end of first post here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-unbrick-flash-to-stocknce-g900a-t3077652)
Mine still is bricked did anyone have a fix?
This is the OI5 files. Try and see if these work in Odin.

On the phone side the error I'm getting is this:
Code:
UDC START
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [ABOOT]Fused 2 > Binary 1
[1] eMMC write fail: ABOOT
Idk what to do at this point. I'm assuming I have to flash the boot-loader right?
If I could get some advice, so I don't brick my phone further.
Please please please, help! v__v
If you mean latest 5.1.1 you most likely have updated Samsung kernel security that won't let you downgrade bootloader, you need to flash current stock firmware to recover your device.
Pp.

I tried flashing 5.1.1 But to no avail. Anything else I could do?
I had a similar problem with my note 3. What in did was I backed up my sd card and wiped it, redownloaded stock bootloader and firmwares, and used a different usb cable and port . Then odin worked like charm
My friend ended up putting 4.4.4 on it somehow. Maybe it was just an issue with my computer? Thank you guys for your suggestions btw. I tried all of them.

Do you happen to have the link to the 4.4 build? I'm trying to downgrade from 5.1.1 as well
