Navigation bar issue - Huawei Mate S

Hello, I m having this problem with mate s crr-ul00 navigation bar touch: the upper portion of the buttons for navigation is inhibited in such a way that, when pressed, returns no button action. This is something that appens everytime and probably it's a setting of EMUI. Of course this is pretty annoying as most of the clicks have to be repeated two times before getting the button pressed. The middle and lower areas of the buttons work fine so finally i can get the buttons pressed, but i'd like to fix this as this is pretty ugly. I've also attached a screenshot highlighting the region where 'no button activation' is returned (upper blue region). The remaining middle (red area) and lower (blue again) as i said, do respond properly. Is there something i can do to fix this? Tnx!

D Pad left and right is difficult

Hi All,
Is it my phone or is it a problem with the diamond in that I find it almost impossible to use the d pad to go left and right. Up and down works a treat, but left either makes a call or goes to the home page and when I want to naiviagte right, well it mostly causes the centre dpad to click. Any ideas, send the phone back; it's almost impossible to play worms!
i have the same problem. i think it is not a manufacturing problem, it is designed as is.
i have seen somewhere in the manual, that htc recommends to use the finger nails to press the navigation buttons.
Same behaviour here. It's just bad design. Not a fault of your particular device.
Thats so Cr*p!, don't get me wrong, I love the phone, but that is bad manufacturing, I though HTC were better than that. I am disappointed that they get everything else so nice, but screw up the nav keys, they are pretty damn important. It like saying the that the "T" key on the keyboard sometimes gives you "T" but sometimes it'll give you "R".!! Anyone tries talking to HTC about it?
Oh well, I'll just roll over and take it --- again
Hi there,
just keep in mind that the navigation left/right uses the same (physical) switch as the other buttons. the function called is just determined by the position of your fingers on the capazitive touch element. So you just hav to be quite precise. pressing with the whole of your thumb can cause the problems you state. use your fingertips instead and everything will be fine.
in the beginning I had some trouble but my problem was that I pressed too close to the centre button... I have no problem pressing left or right now. The sweetspot is about the middle between the edge of teh circular button and the home/phone keys

Click to collapse
I also find it helps to press a little bit lower than you might think (especially on the right button)

Hey, wow. Thanks a lot. That's really the point.
Ever worried about pressing one of the other buttons (Home, Back, Send, End) when pressing to far outside the center. But now that I realised that there are no other buttons to accidently hit, everything works quite fine.
would be great if someone finally finds out how to remap buttons. in that case i am the first to reassign the home button with the left key and back button with right key...
Wish it would be possible to touch the wheel and get LEFT/RIGHT instead of pressing them. Would make it so much easier to use the wheel/pad buttons.

Remap light wheel for up down left right
Now that sounds like a wicked idea. Remap it so that when the touch sensitive circular wheel is not being used for it's whizzy ipod type wheel capability, it is instead used for touch sensitive left, right, up or down!.
Hmm, I'd donate for sure for that to happen!
funny thing about those hardware keys is that they are combined with a capacitive key, eg, try to press the home key with the back of your stylus without touching the button with your finger. it wil respond as dail key pressed.
If you try to press al the buttons at once, there is only one click at either side

Problem with Auto Rotation and and Touch Sensitive Buttons

I just loaded up RealGinger gingerbread Rom on my i9000. Since loading, I have 2 problems:
1. The horizontal calibration seems to be off by 90 degrees. When held vertically, it goes into landscape and vice versa. I have tried running the horizontal calibration tool to no avail.
2. The touch sensitive buttons are not working properly. Specifically, the search and back button do nothing and the home button acts as the 'back' button. Is it possible to edit the functions of these keys?
Thanks.

Bad spen behaviour

Hi,
The SPen of my n7000 is not working properly. After a few seconds "writing", it stops writing. Some seconds later it begins again. Then stops.... intermitently. It seems like there is a problem in the pressure sensitivity or something. The problem began some months ago, first failing once in a while only, then more and more frequently, to the point of not being usable today.
Funny thing is that the cursor is shown correctly, it never stops moving. The spen only stops "writing".
Ok, so I bought a new SPen. The new one writes only when I press the button (and I have to press hard). When I don't, it does not write, unless I use the pen almost parallel to the phone. Cursor is shown fine too. Still, it seems it works OK only when I keep pressing the button. But then there's other problem: the pen writes even if not touching the screen, so writing decently is impossible. Quite similarly like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viDDKGPj2FI. I took off the pen's button, but then there is no potentiometer inside (as opposed to the original spen).
Any idea how to fix this? How to tell the spen to keep the button pressed by default, or to rever behaviour? Which system file does control this?
Thanks!
L.

anybody having sensitivity problems on keyboard after recent OTA? like the A button

My A button not responsive at all, and also the top left of my screen , like when i try to hit back inside facebook for example , not working at all .
I'm having the 2nd part of what you describe. Same area menu button on Google Play store is. Seems to start/stop happening as it wants, when it wants.
I have an S6 (not edge) and am having a similar issue where the bottom rows of the keyboard do not register everytime and also pulling down the notification shade takes a few tries sometimes. Don't know if it is something to do with the cold weather or a software/hardware issue. I am thinking of sending the phone back to Samsung for warranty repair.
Mine is working without a problem. Is the keyboard problem persisting across other apps?

[Xiaomi Redmi 2] Bottom buttons not working

Hello all!
I'm having a strange problem with my Redmi 2 (aka Wingtech WT88047). My bottom buttons stopped working a couple weeks ago. As my phone was rooted, I decided to activate the software keys adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to build.prop and commenting out hard buttons actions, since I prefer them anyway.
After a while, they became unresponsive too. They work again once in a while, but most of the time they don't.
Okay, so what's strange about that? The strange part is that the button bar area IS working while in lock screen and when using fullscreen apps. I even wrote a simple app to test touch points and the entire touch screen area is fine. While in fullscreen mode, I can even swipe the bottom border to bring up buttons or swipe the navbar to activate one handed mode, but the buttons still don't work.
They work fine while on landscape as long as the buttons are located on what would be the top area in portrait mode.
After that, I tried going back to hardware buttons, only to find out with further investigation that they also work only now and then, but not most of the time (like the soft keys).
I rebooted, soft rebooted, removed battery, sim and sd cards, reseted, tried different roms and all to no avail.
I'm currently using LineageOS if it helps.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
