Hi all guys
Good news today, samsung rollout official mm for s5 G900F in srylanca.
Now we just wait the notification of update!
So now we can do a custom rom for our device...it would be great if will possible to add some features of s6 edge and s7 edge as people edge, weather, keyboard etc.
So we can nave a fully worked o.s. but with other features...
S5 will fly
I got some kind of update. I downloaded it just waiting for apps to optimize. (croatian g900f) EDIT:Just a security patch

As many of you have have heard, the new S6 Edge plus is getting a new feature called "Apps Edge" which allows the user to have app shortcuts just like People Edge. Does anyone know if this feature is also being implemented into the original S6 Edge?

I have it running on mine. Android 5.1.1 Not sure when it will be released by the carrier, but it is an official flash.

Just to be clear, you are saying that "Apps Edge" is available in Android 5.1.1 for the S6 Edge (NOT the Plus version with the stylus) right ?
Because I've done some searching after you mentioned it, but found no detail of this feature being added. I'm sorry, I just want to make sure, because I don't want to update my phone if it doesn't receive this feature. Thanks

Ok ive done some more searching LOL, and I've found that it will be implemented on the upcoming update, but they just havent announced the official release date.
The S6 and the S6 Active on AT&T are the last high end devices on the US to recieve Marshmallow this is a new low for the carrier even T-Mobile got ir first ...
Can you guess a date? something is clear to me never buy from AT&T again XD
By this time in 2017 we will get it for sure. AT&T sucks.
Mark my words/text/post/prophesy! Any time between April and June 2016 we'll have Marshmallow! This is my prediction and it'll be a fact soon.

Given that the press release for the Good Lock lock screen app from Samsung says that it supports the S6 Active with Marshmallow, I'm hoping the update is coming soon.

Read the first post in that thread. Have to sideload via adb. They are basically beta builds but they have been solid so far.

Have S6 Active on AT&T, can confirm no 6.0 update.
So I was chatting with Samsung support and I decided to ask if themes will be able for the regular Galaxy S5? And they said yes... Here is an image of some of that chat script:

Yes it's real not fake. I know some people have been wondering since a lower end Galaxy S5 (called Galaxy S5 neo) has themes if the regular Galaxy S5 will get them. As I know it's the Verizon Galaxy S5 (SM-G900V) since that is the device I have and was in support with. But I can't wait for the marshmallow update and to try all the newer features like themes and Good Lock.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but most people have already received the MM update on their S5s, and there are no themes or good lock included
Apart from a few new icons, boot logo and some permissions settings, it is identical visually to Lollipop, no new features
xda Samsung seems to listen to us and develope VR Apps that we want! Samsung is now presenting Samsung PhoneCast VR App! this allows us to use our beloved Video Apps like kodi on our Gear VR! Sounds pretty cool right? few months back people tried doing this but now we get a official solution
currently it's in beta and only supports the S8 and S8+. I hope in the future when it's out of the beta stage it will be available also for older devices. Can anyone test this app on their S8 / S8+? If I change the model to a SM-G955F on my Note 7 from a SM-G935F it's starts the app but I get a prompt to update my Firmware before I continue. Can someone disable those ckecks for device and firmware please?

Yep same here on my S8+.
I was wondering if it's region locked (I live in the UK), or it doesn't like Oreo.
Either way, it's pretty ridiculous.

Use hotspot shield set to US run occulus and run cast vr once then when working.
After that you won't need the vpn.

There's a AOSP Oreo roms for Note 5, like Lineage OS, Resurrection Remix and AOSP Extended, bit if u talking about Samsung Experience, wait for A8 2016 get Oreo, port for N5, S6E+, S6E and S6 maybe in 2 weeks after A8 2016 get Oreo official.
Nobody develop Note FE/S7 Edge OREO port for Note 5..............
to start working on Oreo port we need SM-A810 Oreo firmware first - that A8 2016 has same cpu and gpu and a lot more in common with N5

I am happy to hear that there is still a hope for OREO port.
I agree with that thanks to developers for make that posible.
So the A8 oreo is out since 24th July. Is there any hope for oreo port to note 5 and s6 edge+? If yes, how long will it take for developers to port it.
And also considering same chipset, will we receive officail oreo?

Samsung has released the Oreo source code of A810S. So will it be possible to compile it for S6 edge+ and note 5? I'm very much into oreo?

im using nexus 6 running 8.1 tho my friends and brother have note 5 and they r also waiting for Oreo. i regularly check here to let them know.

I actually have S6 Edge+ G928T. But I posted in Note 5 forums because S6 Edge+ forums are pretty much dead. Please let me know if S6 Edge+ gets something.

At the moment it's just S6 flat (G920I/F) is getting love with Oreo, then it's going to follow the S6 Edge and the Note 5, I do not know anything for the S6 Edge+

If Note 5 gets it then I think s6 edge+ should get it too. Because pretty much everything is same. And also most of the roms for note 5 works perfectly fine on S6 edge+, but the thing is it requires kernel. If you could please port it to S6 Edge +, it would be a great favour.
FYI Oreo is running smoothly but still bugs to fix and spen features to add, from FE or N8, probably N9
