Note5 Sprint Message not sent (425 error) - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys , I have Note5 Sprint and these days I am in China. Before I was unable to use mobile data here, but now I have fixed this problem by configuring manual internet settings. Still I am unable to send SMS . At the same time I am receiving SMS on my device without any problem. I have tried to send message to myself but still no luck. There is no Message Center option in the device. So please help me to fix this problem.

Look at the message center number in the SMS settings.

There is SMS settings within the SMS app itself not in the phones settings but in the actual app.

Dear , This is what I am asking. There are no such option. I think you are using International variant of Note 5,. In the Sprint they don't allow to change SMS center . So I am finding solution for this problem.

Can't send SMSes

Hi, I have note been able to send any SMS'es for the last 1 or 2 days, neither with the stock app or Go SMS. The only error message I get is a notification "Unable to send message"
I can receive SMS'es, I can call people, I can answer calls, I can use my data... I just can't send SMS'es.
It MIGHT have something to do with me playing around with market enabler (to use all the google services).
Currently running the stable CM 10.1.3
If anyone has any suggestions, then please help me

Hasn't apn only got to do with mms/internet?
I set my apn settings up again according to this:
Name: Plus
APN: plus
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default
activated it and nothing changed
On TW Roms there used to be a setting called message center number which if incorrect could cause problems with sending SMS. Cant seem to find that in cm

WhatsApp curiosity

WARNING :THIS IS NOT RELATED TO NOTE 5.
This is a question i have regarding whatsapp and did not know where to post.
So,i texted my friend in wa but it was not delivered (single tick)
Its been more than 7 days .he has not blocked me and has changed his dp and status multiple times (so his data is working fine).
And this has occurred another time too with a diff friend
Can anyone help what was the case?
AFAIK, tHEY have changed their settings and hid their "read reports" for ticks, so they can read read messages but ticks wont go blue, so you will see that THEY DIDNT READ MESSAGE and THEY also wont be able to see MSGS for your ticks, CHECK whatsapp setting and play with it, you will know how it works.

1. try different wifi / ip address
2. send your friend a message from another whatsapp from same wifi /network of your phone.
3. Reinstall whatsapp.
Maybe he is using whatsapp plus where he can disable second tick and still recieve msgs read and answer them

That might be it
I have no idea about whatsapp plus
If he can read my msgs without the blue tick then why are the previous msgs blue ticked?

You missed my question ?
At the moment he enables blue ticks hiding then you wont see blue ticks anymore but the previous ones will still be blue.if he decides to re-enable blue ticks showing then all will be blue

There is just one tick, which means he has not received the message right?
But he has changed his dp ,status etc after that and its still one tick
So my question is that is it a fault of whatsapp servers that he didn't receivemy text or has he done something which lets him view my text with double ticks

you might just be unlucky to be sending the message when the whatsapp servers are having issues.
so probably your friend did not even receive the message.
anyway, you can always just text your friend again to see if its really a repeated issue or its just you're unlucky that day.

Can't send SMS on Huawei P20 Pro

I have been using this device (CLT L29) for 2 weeks now and I've totally enjoyed it. This happiness only got shattered when I realized that I couldn't send messages on this device.
After series of research, I got to know that its message centre number isn't set. This is where the problem is.
My came with Google Sms as its default sms app and this app doesn't allow for manual sms message centre settings.
I need help guys!
ask your service provider

stock rom shipped without huawei messaging app ?
need more details
1)service provider
2) build number
3)what is the error message your getting while sending messages
The phone shipped with Google message, instead of the Huawei message app. Google message doesn't have the option to manually set up sms centre number

SMS issue with Google message app

Hi all,
I have a strange issue that I cannot solve.
I am using the Samsung standard messaging app and all is working perfect.
I wanted to test the Google messaging app so I installed next to the Standard Samsung one.
The problem is that in the Google app not all messages are showing. It is random and has nothing to do with people having Iphone or not.
And not all messages of the same threat are not showing up. Some do and some don't.
If I open the Samsung app all are present???
Any idea what the problem is?
Thank you
Maybe some of the messages in the samsung app are probably enhanced messages, meaning they were sent as data like an imessage. So when Google messages looks at your list of sms, it doesn't see those

Ok, I understand. But I thought that Google message had also enhanced messaging. Or am I wrong?
And how could I solve this?
Thank you in advance

Did you enable and register enhanced messaging service for Android messaging? Failing that try this. View attachment 4617783

Question after update to 9.1.0311

Hello guys,
After I updated to 9.1,i noticed a weird behavior in the notification bar.
Before the update, when I had email notifications I had two options, to either click on the top right arrow of the email banner and expand the emails (some of them only shown) in the drop down notification menu, or to click directly on the banner and afterwards I was redirected in the email app, showing the inbox list.
After the update, if I click on the Gmail banner, it only expands the emails, regardless of I click on the arrow or wherever, but I have to select a particular email in order to be redirected to the Gmail app;after that it takes me straight to this particular email and not to the email list of the app, whereas before it was taking me to the email list.
I take it that this is either a bug, or a change of function.
The question is, is there any way to change the function? I am using my work email in which I receive maybe 600-1000emails per day and it is a PITA to get in a random email first and then to have to go back in order to see the email list..
Any ideas? Am I missing something?
P. S: of course this behaviour is not only in the Gmail app, but in all apps with multiple notifications
Cheers
T

Maybe it is a new function since some people complained about not being able to expand notifications
Same here!
And it's really annoying...
Looking for a way to get it back

I have no idea really. I was using this function maybe 50 times per day and now I have to bother going straight to the app, Gmail notifications are now useless to me given that I receive more than 600 emails per day, so the 3-4 expanded emails are pointless if I then have to go back, then go to the second home screen, then click again the app, to go to the same point I was with only one click before the update.. Maybe try one of the many email apps that might work for your specific needs? Gmail app is fine for average users not power users with so many emails.
Things change and our Huawei device is meant for consumers.
Good luck!

But it is not only the email app thingy, this is a change in the function of the notifications as a whole, it is just more of a pita with my email because I am checking it all the time..
Regerdless of the app, all the notifications now only expand and do not redirect you to the native app, but only to a particular notification. It is just stupid, they changed they way the notifications have been since android implemented more than a single notification for the apps. The primary function should be to take you in the app itself.. [emoji23]

Hmm I wasn't able to check that function yet but I do see a option in the Gmail app that only allows the one initial notification. Inbox notifications >> notify only once. Maybe that would work for you.
Cheers

Thanks for the input mate. However as I said, this is not a Gmail issue per se, but a general change in function of the notifications, regardless of the app.
In order to elaborate, let's say that you have WhatsApp notification in the bar (more than one single msg).. When you click on the notification it just expands, you cannot be redirected in the app, you can only click on one of the notifications and go straight into this particular msg.
Same applies to FB, to play store updates, to whatever app.
Let's hope that they will change this in the next updates.

I am sure it is a Huawei thing, since the last update retained the same android version and just upgraded the Emui ver..

Unfortunately the problem persists, even after. 328 update.
I really wish that we could somehow change the function. It is really pita to have to either go directly to one of the msgs in the notification, or to have to go back and then enter the app from the app menu of homescreen. Totally counterintuitive.

Really don't understand why they screwed this...
Same on p30pro
What about mate or other series?
As said : Anyone with an other phone brand / rom (if rooted) could check if this only happens with the last huawei updates?
Need to know if it only huawei 'pitifully' related :'(
